Played tonight with a friend. He said cutscenes were lagging for him, but they are fine on my end. No problems in game.

Oh, all the mounts are the same now and you pay the stablemaster extra to upgrade them (it's shared between any mounts you have, or add later). There's a lot of info still out there about faster mounts or ones that carry more, but that was changed so mounts are basically cosmetic.

Thanks all for your ESO advice. I decided to just go for the 5500 crown package since I picked up the base game for only $13 at GameFly and was very much into WoW for a few years, and Dark Age of Camelot eons ago. Played that quite a bit until Trials of Atlantis and all the gnashing of teeth that ensued.

I wish I had vidcaps of my initial days fighting giant chickens on Salisbury Plains - it seemed totally epic to me; I was playing mostly solo, so progress was very slow and each battle fraught with peril. Later I joined a guild and things became easier but ya, I remember those early days fondly. Since Zenimax has some of the old Mythic dev team, and they were going for the 3-realm PvP I figured it was worth watching. Played the beta, thought it showed promise, then got sidetracked with other games.

When the reviews came out they were fairly harsh, so it's taken me a while to invest. The keep raids remind me a lot of DAoC though, and I'm hopeful that I'll get my monies worth. I remember taking out the NPC guards in the early stages of an assault and the call to battle being broadcast over global chat. Some of those battles raged on for multiple hours, between spellcasting, pets, assassins, healing, and line of sight glitching those sessions were both frantic and fun. If ESO captures even a portion of that fun I'll be a happy camper!

fuck Van Helsing. After dumping almost 1000g against the fucking scarecrow because you can't target specific enemies in a respawning mob, my patience is shot.

I was a huge DAOC player. Too bad they ruined it with ToA. I played a few years on the German free server Uthgard before they took it down about 2 years ago. It was Old School DAOC. Super fun. But the American player base just wasn't there to bring back the old glory of DAOC RVR. I bought ESO on BF. If the pvp in ESO is anything close to old DAOC pvp I would be hooked. I can't wait to get home in a few weeks and try it out now!
 
I assumed the sale was over because on xbox.com is says to come back next year for Black Friday 2016 and the 5500 Crowns pack for ESO was showing as $39.99.  But on a whim I hopped onto my Xbox One and found I was still able to buy it there (for $23.99) - sweet!

I didn't even know there was a second DLC out for ESO (I haven't really played since Destiny Taken King came out).  I had bought enough for the first DLC and now with these cheap crowns on top of cheap MS spacebucks I can get both DLCs with enough to spare for a 3rd one - all for more than half off.

So it looks like the best option for Killer Instinct is finding the Season 1 disc at a good price and buying season 2 on sale, or individually buying the season 2 characters wanted if they're part of the $1 sale, right?

Omen isn't available individually, so if you want all of Season 2 you'll have to get one of the character packs.

Both dlcs are really fun and housing should be coming within the next few DLCs. They plan to have new content at least every 3 months if not sooner. First DLC is very PvP focused. 2nd dlc is all PvE. Both are fun, but the first one can get frustrating without a group because you have to watch out for large groups of npcs and other players. When it first came out finding a group wasn't a problem. Little bit harder now.
 
DAoC pvp had crazy long CC times and taking a guy down took serious effort. ESO you drop like a fly to seige weapons or zergs. DAoC had keywords to /say to quest givers, or you just had to know what to say/follow guides. ESO is standard four spoke conversation wheels and arrows over quest givers heads.

I like ESO a lot, but don't go into it looking for DAoC.
 
Hm, looking at the characters I'm pretty sure I'd never use at least half more than once, and Omen doesn't look interesting, so I'm going to just start buying individual ones that are on sale. Maya was still on sale so I got her and Orchid just now, and the people I missed are fine by me.

Wait until you level up more and PvP survivability goes up greatly from bonuses that champion points give. Plus they fixed some things when first dlc came out that increased survivability (siege weapons are far less powerful than pre-dlc). I remember when we switched from non-veteran to veteran server (before 1st dlc), we were dying almost instantly. Now that we've leveled up a bit, we can hold our own in 1v1s, 1v2s, or 1v3s if they are especially terrible. Sometimes the fights last too long to stay 1v1s though. Especially with my lack of dps, I have to carefully time CCs and manage stamina/magicka. In cases where I struggle, in can be best to save a little stamina and run away.

Be sure to also eat or drink something before going out there. With 3 dps and a healer, we've been able to defend keeps against 20+ people. Smaller battles (under 10 people) away from keeps/npcs can last a long time depending on the skill of players involved. Some people still don't attack healers first (which is good for me). Surviving solo would be difficult against 3+ people depending on class/skill. The best PvP players I know also play Smite. Strategies in Smite are very similar to ESO PvP when it comes to big battles. Hang back and play cautiously until you have some skills off cooldown. Once they are ready, rush in and get a few hits then run back to your side. If an enemy comes out a little too far, CC and team dps them.

 
Has anyone played that destroy all humans game? Looks like terrible reviews due to glitches but I was wondering if they ever patched it.

I have the disc and it was always a glitchy mess. They patched it a couple times I believe but they never really fixed much. The pop-in is absolutely terrible.

Well, I also die quick because I have limited survivability. I built a two handed berserker out of the rogue class (and a pyromancer out of the tank class). I am a complete glass cannon and just recently branched out into archery for ranged dps on boss fights. I regularly 3 man instances and pvp w/ a dedicated healer and tank. We just hit v2 and ya, the step up to veteran campaigns was a big jump. A lot more strategy and tactics in play than the mindless zerging of non veteran.

A long time ago, I bought destroy all humans 2 because I loved the first one.  It was for the original xbox but I figured that it would be backwards compatible with the 360 like the first one was.  Turns out it was not.  So I've had a game I haven't been able to play for years.  I'm still bitter about that.

I really enjoyed this game. It's not particularly strong in terms of story and characters, but the gameplay is awesome and it looks and sounds nice. Tons of content, maybe too much, you need to pace yourself and not get bogged down trying to do every sidequest in the starting areas, or you'll never leave. The DLCs are great too and actually seemed like the devs were starting to hit their stride in terms of making the world less generic and more memorable. I was actually really disappointed when the chances of Reckoning getting a sequel evaporated.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I played the original destroy all humans on Xbox and enjoyed it but saw this one got bad reviews. Guess I'll pick it up at that price & try it out. Looks like the digital is a lot cheaper than disk.
 
I let my Gold expire on purpose to see if the "Go Gold for $1" would pop up for me. It popped up on my Xbox One but when I clicked on it and accepted the offer, it took me to a screen where it listed 3 different plans at FULL price. I can't get the offer to work! Did this happen to anyone else?

Has anyone that recently purchased the disk version of Witcher 3 had any difficulty starting the copy/download process to be able to play the game?  It goes from Installing to Queued and then the console just sits there.

Total shit. I gave up after at least 20 deaths in one encounter.

Just got my MS store delivery. Holy fuck the white controller is gorgeous. The buttons, the texture, everything is beautiful.

I learned controller firmware is flashable wirelessly now, I hit the button and figured I'd get an error while I looked for the cable, but it went ahead and did it.

I tried to update the firmware on the chat pad with an older inferior controller while plugged in and it wouldn't work. I used the LW controller to do it wirelessly and it worked without issues.
