Yup. With GCU and $15 back for preordering, any trade value of $35+ means profit. Plus, you are not required to follow through. Gets you access to beta, and if beta sucks or previews/rumors are bad close to release, you can always cancel.

Has anyone gotten a credit that wasn't with rewards for 5 years? Just curious. I don't know why I didn't join rewards until 2012. I've had Xbox Live since day one....but obviously didn't bother connecting rewards until later. :(

On a little off topic subject, I am working from home today and am watching a few of those 10-cent movies on my X1 before they expire.

If you had to chose one, which is better Age of Ultron or Terminator: Genysis? Seems like some thought Ultron was a total disappointment and Terminator was better than the reviews said. Only have time for one.

From what I have been able to gather, you do not need to be a rewards member for 5 yrs, this is to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Xbox Live Rewards.

But, you do need to have reached certain VIP levels to receive a reward. And, on December 15th there will additional giveaways.

A lot of people are going to get butt hurt over this even though they have not made many digital purchases but simply signed up some time ago and never did anything with the rewards program.

As an example, while I have done some things with the rewards program (free points for taking surveys), I am not die hard about it. I will rent my movies at RedBox because I pass so many locations to/from work and they offer free movies now and again. While I have purchased digital with the XB1, I did very little with XB360 because of the limited HD and usually finding physical disc's cheaper. I don't seem myself qualifying for any rewards.

I haven't seen Terminator but I read it sucked and people fell asleep through part of it. I thought Age of Ultron was really good and a good continuation of the Avengers movies. It's not perfect, but people sometimes expect too much.

I'm still 0, but it seems to have reset, because In OCT, when i purchased Halo it just put me to lvl 2. I think i did something a few years ago that make me permanently a VIP member, but don't get the star discounts unless i keep spending retarded amounts of money on the online marketplace.

 
I heard a lot of good things about Dirt Rally. My favorite racing game of all time (tied with Burnout 3: Takedown) is Rallisport Challenge 2. So I can't wait!

 
Finally got the email.  Rewards site says I was a member since 12-01-2010.  The only mission or whatever I've really did was pre-order or buy 2 games and get so so rewards credits back.  I usually try to do the surveys every time I remember, and that's it.   I'm a 0 VIP status and I don't think I've ever reached anything higher.   I got $15.   I manage a couple of rewards accounts (girl, niece, nephew), accounts I made for them to use  on my Xbox while we were all living together, and I usually try to do surveys on those accounts too.  But haven't received the email for them yet.

I also got it from Humble Bundle. I think I liked it because it was relaxing once I stopped trying to bring every object one at a time into the living room. I wouldn't recommend it for more than $10. Even that is a bit much.

Black Ops 3 campaign is surprisingly fun. The abilities make it feel less like normal COD games. I still don't like the movement though. All the parkour stuff feels super clunky. Most games do though after Titanfall, so I can't blame them.
 
Got the $15 email today. Jealous of you guys who got $50, but oh well, it's still free money. :) Looking forward to Gone Home, haven't played it on PC yet because I just had a feeling it still might make it to Xbox.

 
This thread makes me angry. I hate all of you who got the email. I've spent plenty money on XBL over the last few years and all MS gives me is a long crooked middle finger the size of Krampus'.
