It's a pretty mediocre game. The game recycles the same enemies and the same Giant Robot enemy. I'm in Ch. 7 out of 8 and so far it's more rage inducing than fun.
 
How frequently do the id@xbox games go on sale? I'm interested in Shovel Knight but will wait for a lower price unless a future sale is unlikely.

What you have to do is shove a bunch of pennies into your ps4 venting slots, wrap it in a blanket, pour gasoline on it and light it on fire. Then it should work great.

Obviously I'm just guessing, but it seems like popular ones like Ori, Shovel knight and others don't drop as far in price as the worse indies. I think it would be a while before a lower price will be seen on it but who knows?

quite few indie games seem to hit GWG but otherwise I don't really see sales that much on them. Shovel Knight though i think is too popular to be a GWG.

Haha, in reality I don't even like to play those games even when my kids aren't around. I spend too much time stealing cars, shooting hookers, and ripping organs out of people's chest in real life so why would I want to waste time doing that in a video game? I just want to play Papers Please.

As someone with younger children and who has played both, neither!! I would pick up "Ori and the Blind Forest", "Banjo-Kazooie" (Its Backwards Compatible), one of the Lego Games or Octodad: Dadliest Catch. There are many more appropriate games

I think the joke was that those games are terribly inappropriate for children to see or play, that's why he said those two in particular.

It is shocking and pretty sad how many parents do play those types of games in front of their kids, or even worse, let their young kids play those games themselves

Both are good it depends on the genre that you and the other person will like.

Diablo is high fantasy hack and slash where each player will build a character of typical fantasy class (Mage, Warrior, Rogue, Ranger etc.) Then it is hack and slash time where you can help each other. You actually play up to 4 players each forming a character of a different class.

Dying Light can also have 4 player online coop. It is survival horror genre. Players are thrown into a open world environment amidst a zombie outbreak. Using various tools, weapons, and parkour skills, players must work as a team to survive. A predominant Day-Night cycle will heavily dictate the way zombies behave.

I play Diablo with my brother, my sister and one of my female cousins. We are all long time Blizzard fans. We love helping each other to level up and hell of fun with the larger boss battles. The women of the group have a blast making up their female characters.

I play Dying Light with my group of friends who are hard core Walking Dead fans to the point that they have a rotating episode watching party where they go all out with food and costumes. Mid-season when the new episodes are not on, we often play Dying Light online.

So, depending on what you guys are into, each will work well IMHO.

Yes, I missed the joke.  LOL!  Stuck on the train home and there is only so much I can read while surfing on the phone.  Well, hopefully everyone had a least a good laugh at my expense.

And yes, there are plenty of parents whom I know who have purchased those games for their 10yr old children because they had no idea.

As a parent, it is a balance between wanting my kids to enjoy video games and not expose them to crap which is everywhere 24/7.

 
I shouldn't have bought shovel knight, that's a wasted 10 bucks. While the game may be good, it's not for me. Remind me to kick blinknot in the blinks. :p

I got korra after reading tandjame's "review". Hopefully that isnt another 5 in the drain. Gotta curb my impulses, going forward. :wall:

If you're planning to play with random people, definitely don't get Dying Light. Everyone uses exploits and duped weapons unless it was fixed recently. I can tell you that the developer's previous games, Dead Island, is just a cesspool of cheaters.

Over Christmas, my one cousin, who has a 10 year old and a 3 year old, told me she had picked Love Actually for her family to watch because some articles / blogs rated it highly as a Christmas-time movie. F-bomb dropped shortly into the movie, movie stopped. Should've asked her if Die Hard made the same list. Yippie-Ki-Yay, Mister Falcon!

They would have never made it as parents in the 80's. Some of the movies I loved as a kid had so much swearing and nudity. I watched "beastmaster" and 10 minutes into the movie the main girl is completely nude. And the best part is it is rated PG. People are violently getting killed left and right in graphic 80's style (no cg and fake gore).

The parents groups today would think I would have become a psychopath by now. They can go live in a church and drink kool-aid all day. Just keep there preaching to themselves.

That helps. Going with Diablo 3. I have a good amount of first person games and the bonus I can play couch Co op with kids.
 
Some people are too sensitive,if I turned off a movie every time there were curses,violence or craziness going on nobody would watch anything in my house.

I grew up watching movies like Full Metal Jacket and playing Mortal Kombat and pushing the a/b button on the cable box to unblur porn and I turned out just fine.

It's all good. I always tell my kid before we boot up GTAV "Boy - we never fuck hookers. You can catch AIDS and die." Probably pretty solid advice for a 7 year old, right?

My parents would fast forward scenes or change the channel if it was a free HBO / Cinemax weekend. The best one was when we rented this Alien ripoff called Creature. A woman stands up topless, and my mom tried to fast forward but hit pause instead. My brother and I had a good laugh over that, and had to show her which button to press to get the movie going again.

A Facebook friend of mine posted pictures of what she bought her kids for Christmas, and I was slightly baffled that she had bought her 8-9 year old both GTA 5 and Fallout 4. I know it depends on the kid, and how they're raised, but I still found it a bit strange.

Granted at that age I was already playing Mortal Kombat, but that wasn't near the violence level that games today have.
