Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console. Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work. Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold. You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold. Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

There were several times where I used Credit on the website that was tied to my live account. That was before the new system was implemented with Bing Rewards and all that stuff.
For Xbox 360 stuff though?

You've always been able to use it on the website for Xbox One stuff.

Maybe someone else can chime in, but I never recall credit being usable on Xbox.com for 360 stuff.

In unrelated news, there's a rumor that Evolve will go f2p tomorrow.

Keeping a 360 is worth it, they still never addressed the issue where you can buy store items with xbox credit and it charges you no tax. Unfortunately Xbox One games do even when using xbox credit.

So if you can, buy your backward compatible games on a 360.

I have my 360 set up, but I would like to put it away since now having a ONE, there is no point in even using the 360.

My gripe is that we as consumers have credit that we cannot use. This didn't used to be a problem until MS switched over to their new rewards system. Now it is one big clusterfuck.
Yeah I am probably going to skip a few of these sales. I have almost $100 in credit but can't use it?

I don't get why you can just buy it through the webpage on a computer. I have bought games for PS3/PS4 and Vita with no issues. MS is huge in the online cloud space. You would think this wouldn't be that hard to fix.

Even if I have to go https://360store.xbox.com or something.

You were always able to until the summer of 2013 when MS discontinued Microsoft Points and switched over to regular currency. The removal of this feature for 360 content and the fact that it will seemingly never be restored is pretty damn baffling.

My biggest complaint is they sold my a x1 saying it's ok cause all your games are going to back wards comparable. So I took it on their word and sold my 360 to buy the 1 and the backwards compatible is good but I'm still missing a lot of games that I had on my 360 that haven't seen the bc because the developers got greedy and are pushing out remasters instead of bc.

I'm not sure why there is such a problem with arcade games. If it didn't have a physical release and its not a remaster why is it not a bc title yet?
Example batman blackgate and ninja turtles out of the shadows.

I wouldn't have sold my 360 and all the games I had if I knew half of them wouldn't be bc.

Just finished up Rise of the Tomb Raider, and now to decide what to play next have halo 5, darksiders dethinitive edition, and alan wake american nightmare on the list, I feel darksiders is going to be too similar to RotTR may go to American NIghtmare

Do people still like buying physical stuff over digital even if you have to pay a few more dollars? Probably the wrong thread to ask

The problem is that you save way more than a few dollars. Bought Syndicate used from gamely for 14.99 over a month ago. Or wait for xbox "ultimate sale" and pay 100% more. Same on new games I have the option of buying a game for 60 and either getting 25 dollar gc from Dell or getting 20% off from best buy and then selling or trading in the game when I beat it. Not to mention most games you can get for half price within 3 months of release.

Evolve doesn't suck, but a lot of things need to fall into place for it to really be fun.

Got my Polk melee headphones today after reading the recommendations here. Very impressed with the build quality.

To anyone who has a pair. Is the chat adapter you get from Ken different from the MS branded on that let's you hook up any 3.5mm headphones? Also also does anyone have kens email?

Edit. Found the email to contact

Can someone recommend if Batman's DLC is worth the extra 10 bucks? I'm tempted to just get the $15 version on sale but that's a lotta DLC they're giving you for 10. I've never played any of the Arkham games before so this will be my first foray into it.

Also is Sleeping Dogs DE for X1 anything more than just a cheap cash grab? They gave the 360 version away as a GwG so I have that. I guess there's no hope for a BC release of it since it's got an X1 version?

So far, I've bought Dragon Age Inquisition's GOTY and the Metro/Saints Row 4 Pack.

I'm currently debating on Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition and Ark: Survival Evolved.

Whoever told you that ALL games would be BC was lying. They continue to bring out more games so it is possible the games you own will eventually be BC. As far as pushing out remasters instead of BC, that isn't completely true. Some devs are still pushing out BC even though they could probably make money on a remaster but chose not to (RDR? Black Ops?). They do seem to focus on arcade titles a lot more because its probably easier to emulate and put on the One so maybe eventually those two games you mentioned will be BC at one point or another.

Here's a link to all the current BC titles for XB1: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-one/backward-compatibility

Unfortunately, when they announced BC for XB1, they claimed they would add 100+ games per month but fell short of that after the first month it was officially released. I still hold onto my 360 for games that may never come to BC and will play those that I own and are BC on the One. It just wasn't worth getting rid of IMO.

The stereo adapter says Polk on it and The mute light is red and brighter. Otherwise it's a standard MS stereo adapter.

I'm wondering the same thing on Batman.

I'm wondering the same thing on Batman.
The Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin packs are only 15-20 mins long, so say they're worth $1 each. The Batgirl/Robin dlc and the other dlc that is good which is escaping my mind(villian dlc) are totally worth it at $2.50 each. Hour or two for those individually right there. So if you justify it priced out that way(and the batmobile stuff is free), its a bloody steal. I bought the season pass for $20 a few months ago, still no regrets. Buy it now

the mission dlc is worth it

all of those 1 hour character campaign things are lame af imo but knight was such a badass game I wanted all the content anyway

Not sure anyone cares but Bethesda is releasing Elders Scrolls Online: GOLD on Sept 9th. It will include everything released so far BUT it will not include the new DLC in August or the other planned DLC after release. Not sure what the current DLC sells for but the base game can be had at Redbox for $9 when they have their sales or $17 used at GS.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/07/06/elder-scrolls-online-gold-edition-available-in-september
Glad to see this, even though I have the game and all its available DLC.

It makes sense that Zenimax would draw the line in the sand after the Dark Brotherhood DLC. This means the Gold release will have all four familiar guilds: Fighters Guild (original release), Mages Guild (original release), Thieves Guild (DLC), and Dark Brotherhood (DLC).

It also means that the Gold release will have the game's first real PvP-PvE hybrid in the Imperial City DLC. And it means it will include the Orsinium DLC, which is by far the best landmass in the entire game: great for new & old players alike due to its built-in scaling and six boss areas.

I wonder if this means One Tamriel is launching on September 9th, too? That's the big update that makes the game more new player-friendly. (as everything will be scaled.)

Started Darksiders II and kicking myself for not playing sooner.  Really digging it so far.  Kept thinking this would be great for a remaster and then I remember they did do that but it turned out to be a shit job. Too bad.

I've read posts here, and elsewhere, of people stating that Just Cause 3 is still plagued with issues and has actually become worse since launch. Does anyone have positive experiences with the game? I mean, is it a case where those who have cause to complain do, while those with no issues remain quiet, or are the issues universal?
I've had it since launch, installed on an external SSD. I've had no major issues from the beginning, and they've patched it a couple of times since. Load times without an SSD are lengthy, but the game is a lot of fun. The two DLC packs so far have been mediocre, although I will admit that the jet powered wingsuit is awesome.

Actually, it was "100s more added in the months to come" (just watched the press segment again to verify). That's not 100s per month, that's over the following months (ambiguous how many), that 100s more would follow.

We're over 200 games now, so there's definitely been progress towards it.

I don't recall that but thanks for clearing that up. Either way, I'm happy they're continuing to add to the BC. Hopefully we see the Bioshock games added soon.

Ambiguous and inflated, as is every E3 reveal for every company. I think the major headache comes from publishers wanting to get a cheap port out for some extra cash. Just take a look at the Prototype Biohazard edition. It runs like crap on the X1 compared to the 360 and it's being sold at $50 despite being 7-8 years old at this point. If more companies were a little less greedy that list would grow to "100s" as they said.

PSA to my fellow CAGs that may have more than one Xbox one in the home. If you have an Xbox one in the preview program, and make a digital game purchase, that purchase is only useable on an Xbox that is also in the preview program (for now). This is a known issue, but I didn't know.

My living room Xbox one is not in the preview program and I couldn't figure out why the purchases I made from my other Xbox (which is in the preview) weren't showing up as ready to download on my living room Xbox. I called Xbox support and they explained that it's a known issue that will (eventually) be resolved.

Buy your stuff on Xbox.com, or a non-preview Xbox to get around this. Content purchased that way will work on a preview Xbox. But not the other way around.

My haul so far: Dying Light, Life is Strange, Dragon Age GOTY, and Ryse LE.

Already at the top of the OP where it helps no one, like the OP in general. We all just come here expecting all the deals on the last page but we don't want to be bothered talking about them and will only discuss food.

I got something better. I can't make any purchases. They give me error messages and my microsoft account balance drops every time (but no game). It was fun arguing with customer support several times until I was able to convince them there was a problem and I wasn't trying to scam them.
