The key is to turn on the toggle for tank mode. I played 75% of the game holding the dam left trigger. Once I turned the toggle on using the tank mode was so much more fun.

 
Learning how to fight was easy...its just the abundance of tank battles were just overkill, man. And it wasn't just the battles, did you do every single race challenge and get 3 stars on them for the achievements? The car handled like a fucking nightmare. And if you wanted 100% completion, you had to do them.

But besides the Shitmobile, Arkham Knight was awesome.

This. The thing is tolerable on its own, but there's so much unnecessary padding with the car it gets ridiculous.

Well I had the Season Pass so I did not need to get all 3 stars on all the original races but I did get all the race achievements. :) The Season Pass gives you more tracks and cars (some that actually do better) so you need less stars per track. I did not mind racing for whatever reason.

I don't play much anymore because I cleared the whole map, but I did have sessions lasting 3-4 hours without any apparent problems on my end. The Internet is a place of hyperbole, and people freely trash games they've never played. It's a lot of fun and I don't regret paying full price for the XL digital pre-order.

If you want to be part of a train wreck, you should have gotten into the Division with me from day one. I've never had so many issues with a game in 33 years of gaming. My favorite part was them deleting my character with the rollout of the first major patch. I did eventually get most of my progress back, but damn, it's been one thing after another. I still play it, though. Lol
 
Using the credit on your account to purchase Xbox 360 games from Xbox.com was definitely possible in the past. I've always attributed the change to the security concerns that were raised when, seemingly, many Xbox accounts were being 'hacked' and the credit associated to those accounts was being used for purchasing in-game items in FIFA 12.

Knowing the picklekid I'd have to assume he means a Gamestop "rental" which entails buying a used game, beating it and returning it within a week (used game policy is a week to return, and oddly the employees at the gamestop I used to go to occasionally would recommend this practice)
 
Red Dead Redemption multiplayer DLC packs are currently listed as free.

I'm really looking forward to the multiplayer again. Is this going to be the most-played game for Xbox this month?

EDIT: I had already purchased the other DLC packs, but Liars and Cheats was $10 yesterday. I almost bought it, but went digital with RDR instead.

Of note, the 3 $1 packs are part of a free update, so don't buy those.

I played Red Dead a long time ago and I pickup all all the free content back then. Checking the website right now I own all of it except "Legends and Killers Pack" and "Liars and Cheats Pack". I don't know if it was recent or some time ago after I was done playing it, but it has changed from not free to free since then.

 
I've never enjoyed GTA as I find the game just boring, I do own rdr GOTY edition but never played it, is the core gameplay similar enough that I will also find it boring? those big downloads of BC games make me question every install

I find GTA and RDR to be pretty similar. I find both games to be boring, GTA a little less so. I also hate games where you have to ride horses so maybe thats why. My guess is if you dont like one then you wont like the other.

It looks like Liars and Cheats and Legends and Killers just became free.

I know the other 2-3 packs were free previously though.

 
 
For someone who's never played any of the Grand Theft Auto or Batman Arkham games before, should I get GTAV and/or Arkham Knight? I've played stuff like Mafia II, RDR, Assassin's Creed, Sleeping Dogs, Watch_Dogs, etc.

The core gameplay is similar with obvious differences. I thoroughly enjoyed the game though, enough to 100% it, which I've never done for a GTA game. The time period is just unusual for a video game, especially an open world game, and I enjoyed the story.

I didn't care for Undead Nightmare personally but I do respect it as one of the best examples of what DLC should be. They give you everything and the kitchen sink.

I also didn't care for the multiplayer, but I rarely mess with the multiplayer in ANY game besides GTA5. But the single player experience is so worth trying.

That's like asking if you should get that one album by the metal band or that one album by the rapper guy. Those are two different games completely and it depends on what you're looking for.

But if you want replay value and the best bang for your buck, GTA5.

Yeah, I had everything except the two I mentioned and the $1 ones. I believe back then those ($1 ones) were not included with base RDR, so I guess those became free for me since then thru an update? That's cool too.

Imo, wait. Wait if you plan on playing it solo. If you have friends who are gonna play it with you, dedicated to it then get it but the graphics are somewhat a turn off if you compare it to the pc version and I'm not sure if it still suffers fps drops and frequent screen tearing.
 
I think arkham asylum is way better than all the sequels, its refreshing to play that game without an open world thrown in, as every sequel has done that

I wasn't really comparing them; I know they're very different from each other. It was more about that they're both on sale right now and I'm curious if I should get either of them, if having no prior experience with their predecessors should have an impact on my decision. Replay value is definitely an important factor, though, so +1 for GTAV.

Ugh. Why can't the RotTR season pass be on sale? Or at least ANY of the dlc? Everything else Tomb Raider is on sale. They even have the Deluxe Digital Edition(game + season pass) on sale. I hate when they do that.
 
Anyone know if Red dead redemption GOTY version is digital? I only see the base game and separate DLC. I own it on disc but I don't have the undead nightmare DLC. I'd like to go all digital cause I'm lazy and don't want to swap discs.

All I really want is the Baba Yaga DLC since it's the only additional story content, but I'd probably buy the season pass if they'd offer it for a discount. These publishers miss out on a lot of sale opportunities by not offering the DLC during sales like this.

I thought the Cold (whatever) add on was campaign as well based on the achievements, but I guess not? I know the other one is a horde mode type thing.

It's a zombie add-on to the Expedition game mode, doesn't last long at all from the reviews. The whole season pass seems very weak when compared to how good the base game is.

I actually started the base game the other day and I'm loving it. Not surprised considering I've played through ever version of TR DE.

RDR GOTY is not digital - that was only a retail release.
