So looks like I got the 15,000 point bonus for both RE4 and Recore waiting for me. Did MS completely remove the option to try to have the points deposited early "by the date below" (which isn't there)?

I'd probably just dive in on the Battlefront SP if I could get that $30 now.

Its only available when you have between 1000 and 5000 points. Above 5000 points it only allows the automatic deposits.

Piranha Bytes developed the Risen series, not Spider. Different publishers too (Risen is Deep Silver, Spider does work for Focus Home Interactive). Risen 3 just seems like it shouldn't have been on last-gen consoles, but it was already in development for them when the Xbone/PS4 came out.

No offline modes for Death Star DLC at this very moment, BUT Skirmish (the offline mode with bots recently added that supports Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron) is supposedly getting a content update in October. This may include Death Star DLC, we're not sure yet.

I'd wait until an official announcement since it's not on sale anyway.

It's not supported in the DLC, but the idea that the game is entirely online has been a misconception since day 1. There's at least been "missions", even if they're not spectacular that support co-op (local and online) which was a nice touch. Skirmish is a major addition to the offline content, as well.

That said, most of the content is still online, specifically all the DLC.

Why would you want to play offline against bots tho? Shits boring as hell. It's easy enough to get kills against humans, it's a super casual shooter that doesn't require a lot of skill or teamwork.

The same reason people ragged on TItanfall for having everything be online/not having single-player, some people just prefer the option, especially if they don't want to pay for Gold or have shit internet. For me, it's just something different to play. The "training" missions are the most fun and varied, I wish there were more of those. Survival missions are also fun, especially in co-op. Battle missions are probably the most boring in the way you've described, but instead of allowing co-op, they allow 1v1 (as a soldier or a hero) or your team vs someone's team, which I imagine would be fun for someone with more limited options.

Exactly, I prefer the work Spider does rather than Piranha Bytes work, which is why I compared Risen to Technomancer
 
That Dear Esther discount will continue for another 14 days. I'll have enough creds thru Bing searches to get a $5 code this weekend. Then I can grab DE for essentially $3(70% off). That's a good enough price that I can live with, as it takes about 1-2 hours to complete

I gave in and used some Amazon and Best Buy credit to get the Season Pass just because I love the whole ideal of a Death Star mode and the space combat that should have been there from the start.

That said, while the DLC is pretty cool overall, I'm kind of ticked off about the way the Battle Station mode works. You're lucky if you even get to the Trench Run portion having to be on the rebel side and winning the first two stages. Then it's a crap shoot to get to be the dude doing the Trench Run.

The Trench Run is one of my all time favorite sequences going all the way back to playing the vector based Star Wars game back in arcades.

So to find out how much of a bitch it is to get to actually play it in the DLC was incredibly infuriating.

THIS would be why I'd want an offline mode with bots. So I can actually play what I want and not depend on a series of circumstances to get to it.

I seriously hope Dice adds an offline Trench Run mode at the very least.
 
still nothing in regards to my promo credit, I have very limited gametime nowadays, any good recommendations for fun short digital games, easy achievements is also a big plus.

 
Hearing a lot of great things on Horizon 3. Damn.. too bad it's so close to Mafia 3's release and I'm having so much fun in GTA Online with my cousin, which is more or less a driving game. I think this can wait for a price drop.

My bad. I don't think of Risen as a budget RPG on the same level of Mars: War Logs, and I was under the impression Technomancer was a shorter/smaller project like M:WL, just with more production value, whereas the Risen and Sacred series (aside from Citadel) are on the border of being AAA games, just without the marketing.

I know getting to the Trench Run isn't guaranteed (have to be Rebels, have to get past the first 2 phases), but during the livestream, they showed the people actually doing the runs regularly rotated. Is this not the case?

I agree with you that at least the run should be playable offline though, even if you lock it behind the season pass for obvious reasons. Here's hoping that gets announced next month.

Well that at least puts it on par with BF4 I guess. I still think Battlefield games skimp on release maps. 14 should be a min. Just because they are bigger does not mean they don't get repetitive.

 
Rising Star Games published the 360 version of Dodonpachi Resurrection on Xbox Live in Europe. The 360 Reddit thread is reporting that the game is on sale for 50% off this week in Europe, but it was never released on Live in North America, so we only got the sales on Akai Katana and Deathsmiles. :(

Most function just like XBLA compilations, where you launch and run from the disc. Newer ones like Minecraft, Game of Thrones, and Batman only have one to a few episodes and allow you to download the rest off XBL for free with no code required. You have to have the disc in the drive though to be able to play.

Thanks for pointing this out. I also remembered Deadly Premonition was published by Rising Star, hence the recent sale on it.

For what it's worth, Dodonpachi Resurrection is coming to Steam next month, so that's an option to play if you only have a NA 360.

I still think rotating 9 maps period gets stale faster no matter the size of the map. The vehicles shrink the map relative to other games like Call of Duty.

Only have Super Mega Baseball, which is pretty fun so this is actually a decent month for me. I also enjoy the rhythm racers in the MX series so I'm happy to have that especially
 
Have Super Mega Baseball on PS4. The Escapists always looked kinda meh to me. Pretty sure I have Reflex from some sale long ago. So that leaves I Am Alive.

Overall a pretty weak month IMO. Also seems early for them to announce them. Maybe hoping by October 1st we'll have gotten over how bad it is.
