the mystery of the disappearing achievements continues, now my score on the leaderboards has also been lowered to match the missing 4 thousand points

 
No changes for my achievements, I've never heard of losing partial gamerscore, hopefully it's a temporary glitch. I've only heard of the gamerscore resets, with my idiot friends being rekt for hacking their 360 profiles years back.

I totally called the laziness of the Marvel ports, oh yeah.

Konami is still doing weird shit constantly. I think digital titles have a better chance of hitting BC, but if they're really trying to earn back some favor, letting their disc games come to BC would be an alright step. I don't see myself buying another Konami game ever again regardless, but at least my memory of their glory days will be less sour. I hope Capcom throws more of their digital titles up for BC too, SSF2THDR would be great, Third Strike Online, the MvC games if they get the rights again for 4.

Sega has been pretty good about their BC too. If that Sonic 06 leak is true I hope that means all of the games come eventually. They stopped selling stuff like 06 and Unleashed because of low review scores, but allowing people to play the games they own would be great, and I'd have to assume Generations is coming if fucking 06 is.

Ehhh, We Happy Few could have been better imo if they dropped the open world-ish/survival elements and basically just went the path of the dishonored/bioshock

Like why do I need to drink, sleep, and eat every 5 minutes

You get the full game at launch. Early Access is basically a disclaimer that while you are getting access to the game early, it is still in development and thus probably isn't a full experience and may be buggy.

In practice it often also means that you are gambling on a game that may never be finished in the way you expect if it isn't selling enough or the developer losses interest *cough*Double Fine*cough*. Though with the repetitively low number of early access games on Xbox, this problem hasn't presented itself, probably at least partially because Microsoft seems to vet these games unlike Steam, or the devs that release on their own platform.

 
I bought we happy few, inside, and hyper light drifter at 9 am this morning. missed being eligible for the reward points by 2 hours. lol. Isn't 4000 reward points basically 4 dollars?

 
Dammit I think i have to buy all the Metal Gear.... I was waiting for the Phantom Pain to finally have a sale digital and was thinking how i need to really pick up the HD collection of 2 and 3 and Peace Walker, and I need to see that ending to Revengance, and here they are all on sale...

Really wish Frogger 2 was on sale. Already have Frogger 1 and Frogger DX.

Konami could have put a lot more of their backcatalog on sale and there would be plenty I would have bought, definitely disappointed.

Cool to see Syberia as BC to drum up hype for 3, but just a heads-up that it is better to play on PC and Steam copies have literally been given away. Same with Syberia 2 (which I expect to be BC any day now).

It's been confirmed that the Steam versions have all the DLC for Ultimate Alliance 2, but none for Ultimate Alliance 1.

This is most likely because the Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 DLC was 360-exclusive, and either they ran into licensing issues they were too cheap to settle or their version they ported from wasn't the 360.

I imagine the Xbone/PS4 ports will have the same DLC content as the new Steam versions. At least with PC, characters were able to added in via mods, both cut characters (Colossus, Moon Knight, PSP exclusive characters) and new characters (pretty sure Cyclops was one of them, it's been a while).

Seeing a lot of confusion and misinformation about why Sony has the exclusive Spidey game.

First of all, the movie rights and the video game rights are 100% separate, so don't base any assumptions off of that.

The Spidey game is being published by Sony, not Activision, so of course it's going to be PS exclusive. The most realistic theory as to why Sony is being allowed an exclusive Marvel game is that as part of Sony's deal to return Spidey to the MCU and share its profits with Marvel (with Homecoming, the upcoming TV series, etc), Marvel agreed to give Sony the video game rights for Spidey games (whether they are tied to the movies or not, this upcoming game seems to not be related to any of Sony's other Spidey projects).

It blows, but after Sunset Overdrive I'm just glad Insomniac is getting a crack at it.

Doubt we're ever getting an SO2.

Konami seems relatively in favour of BC outside of games simultaneously released for current and past gen (like 90% of publishers). I think we'll see Revengeance again at some point. A remaster would be more likely if Konami seemed to have any remaining interest in video game publishing, but since they don't, BC is the safer/more likely option.

Which is why characters are dying, new people are taking over the secret identity, their powers are being tweaked, etc. to jump through legal loopholes that allow Marvel to get full control of the characters back without breaking contracts which would be costly while allowing them to make more things to sell people covering all those changes.

Alien Breed was a popular franchise on the Amiga computer and has a huge following in Europe. Not so much of a following in the U.S., but it appears that it had decent reviews. So, although I've never played an Alien Breed game, but I figured $1.24 wouldn't be too much of an investment. I just bought it along with Frogger, Symphony of the Night, and this week's free Battlefield Hardline DLC. I'm considering the Metal Gear games that I don't already own, but I've always been terrible at stealth games. However, these titles don't go on sale very often. Decisions, decisions!

I don't think they'd give stuff away they could still sell to us, so there must be some reason they included the DLC in the BC release rather than re-listing it. Maybe there are just some games that in order to emulate properly they have to have the dlc included for everyone, like Stick of Truth.

I've been playing a lot of it over the last 6 months on the PC. I love it. It's a great improvement on the Left 4 Dead formula of coop. There's meaty close quarters combat, some ranged combat, good variation in the different characters, challenging AI, and loot with a fun risk/reward system for obtaining it during game play. Fatshark has supported the game incredibly well and listened to fans post release to make changes. They've done a lot to optimize the game since shortly after its launch.

The console release is a little behind their original schedule, but they've used the time wisely. I hope it does very well in the console space. They deserve success with this one IMO.

Looking forward to vermintide. Smashing rats with hammers in coop sounds enjoyable. I know some of the guys in the Steam thread were playing it and said good things
 
This was floating around this morning, a news site finally picked it up.

Adding Ground Zeroes is an easy thing, as is whatever bullshit DLC they feel like bundling, though I'm curious if this would add back the unfinished Episode 51. I don't see them adding anything farther story-wise without Kojima's groundwork, though maybe they would contextualize the Truth mission better, and maybe add in the virtual impossible to unlock Nuclear Disarmament cutscene connected to online Forward Operating Bases. Ex sounds like it would be adding a sort of VR or side mission mode, as the side missions in Peace Walker were called Ex Ops.

If this is real and getting ready to be announced, it explains the surfacing of Konami's PR guy recently. I definitely won't buy this new so Konami gets nothing, though I may not buy it at all since Kojima and his studio would not have worked on this. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Konami removed the constant credits that mention Kojima.

So having only played the original Castlevania on NES, should SotN that is playable on my :xb1: for $5 be a no brainer?

 
I have the MGS HD collection on 360 but never played it because I moved to the X1 and I don't like the X360 pad and laggy dashboard. Can I get into MGS V without knowing anything?

It was a huge hit when it came out on PC in early access. It's basically L4D with rats instead of zombies and in the Warhammer universe.

I would say no, I never played the original and went on to purchase it for 360. It seemed fine but not outstanding to me. The game is old and I feel many of the Metroidvania games that have came after it have improved upon what it did. My experience included no nostalgia for the game and is only from a few hours play time including roughly an hour when it hit BC.

Yes and no. The game is incredible as a stealth game. However, if you want to understand the story in the least bit then you need to play MGS3, Peace Walker (or watch the cutscenes), and Ground Zeroes. You will then be at the minimum to start the game. They are all fantastic, but it is a huge hurdle to get over. There may be good recap videos, but I haven't personally looked for those.

Metal Gear Solid rumors? Probably false and getting your hopes up for a "finished" version of MGSV is probably a bad move.

 
I'd definitely recommend playing at least 3 before V, Ground Zeroes too since it is the prologue and short as hell. Peace Walker is pretty important too but a lot of babies can't get past the PSP graphics so watch a recap if you fall into that category. Metal Gear's popularity had as much to do with it's over the top story as it did gameplay.

First, I wouldn't call a retail listing alone a rumor. Sometimes it seems like those are reactionary to other rumors floating around, but there have been zero whispers about anything related to MGSV in quite a while now. Besides that, I'm definitely not getting excited for this version if it is true. My realistic expectations is a combo Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain with the trash DLC that came out for MGSV, which were outfits that were obviously cut from the full game once Kojima was gone, and map packs for online. Possibly with a few barebones non-story missions thrown in. Konami is beyond life support at this point and this would be a minimum effort thing to squeeze the last bit of profit from MGSV before taking the money to be a GWG and PS+ game eventually.

I just see a couple easy things that could be done if Konami does want to put in more effort and isn't lying when they say they have more Metal Gear planned for consoles eventually. They have to start somewhere to try and get people on board and this could be a way. But my realistic prediction here is probably a new remake to distance themselves from all the controversy V had. Either a second MGS1 Remake or a Snake Eater Remake using the pachinko assets and a returning David Hayter either way. They have to break that new team in somehow and that could be it. Though if a reboot is coming then I'd guess it's a re-imagining of MGS1.

I was initially super excited, but I'm sure a lot of that is just nostalgia from the 360 version. Ton of good (and weird, and hilarious) memories of that game. I am curious to see how much this craps on those memories.
