About to hook mine up for the first time tonight. Got in on the buy 2 get 1 free deal at game stop. Got 3 psvr's and 3 xbox one s. Sold 2 psvr's and got my money back with a free psvr. Sold my two old xbox ones and one of the xbox one s and broke even. That was my best haul of BF for me.

Mass Effect might put me in a pickle.  I want to play that so badly and I thought the extended look was sweet but it looks like it is going to take some horsepower to run it well.  I want to wait for the Scorpio but ME might get me to buy a PS4Pro if the improvements are significant.

 
Trying to force my way through Fallout: New Vegas and it's a pretty big chore. 99% fetch quests. Some of them are laughable; blatantly trying to stretch the game out further than it needs to be. There's no sense of exploration except for finding abandoned shacks with tin cans and coffee cups. I don't remember Fallout 3 being like this at all, or maybe it's just been too long. I just remember thoroughly enjoying that game and all the DLC. Should I just skip to Fallout 4? I heard some people weren't happy with Fallout 4 but not sure why they weren't.

I would say you can definitely skip it, if you're bored. Some people love New Vegas, I guess because it has the most in common with the originals.. since I never played those I can't comment on them but as far as New Vegas goes, I enjoyed it the first time, and looked at it as a huge Fallout 3 expansion. I beat New Vegas, but can't remember much about it. I tried going back to replay it a few months ago, and after about 10 hours I had to stop as well... the world feels really dull, there's definitely a lot of fetch quests. I don't think it aged well at all. It was dated when it released anyway. Fallout 3 I've been able to go back to a few times and still enjoyed each time. I don't exactly know why, it just clicked better with me.

It sounds like you're sort of the same way, in which case I'd recommend jumping to Fallout 4, if you're craving more Fallout after you can always go back to New Vegas. Fallout 4 has by far the best combat, and graphics, it also has a greater sense of exploration, more varied enemies, (even legendary enemies which add some depth). the story is where it fell flat for me... it also felt like it just didn't have a soul, like it was just going through the motions... I hate to say I've outgrown the post-apocalyptic genre, since I'm so heavily into it, (I even seek out and read post-apocalyptic books haha), so I don't think that's it, I just think it felt tedious... after about 40 hours I think I gave up on it. I felt I had to keep constructing cities, breaking down items repeatedly, and for little payoff, none of the quests I did were interesting or had surprising or rewarding conclusions.

I don't want to spoil much, I do think you'll enjoy it, I just recommend not paying too much attention to building/crafting, it's a time sink and takes you out of the immersion of an end of the world scenario. The first 10 or so hours were a blast though, the combat is much improved over previous entries. I still intend to go back to it when a complete edition releases and playing it properly.

Play on the survival difficulty where you have to eat, sleep, and drink. You'll appreciate finding little things much more
 
In regard to the Atari sets, they are set up very nicely, you see the top of the game cart or the arcade machine banner depending on what the game is, you can change a few visual settings like the bezel art being on or off, atari 2600 flicker, scanlines, and vector glow. For the games on the system you see the boxes when you highlight them, arcade games show the machine. You also get to look through the manuals of the atari console games. And a large majority of them have multiplayer (online and off) so I would say they are worth $10 each.

I'll end up with one at some point in 2017, though since the main benefit of the PS4 Pro is essentially doing CrossFire with the 2nd GPU in there, there's some teething issues with some games on Pro with dropped frames and other graphical issues. I think they have some work to do on the Pro and its beefed up hardware at the OS level, so I think a couple of PS4 OS updates and it'll be a much more worthwhile purchase than it is currently.

Scorpio I hope isn't doing a dual-GPU setup and have some huge honking single GPU under the hood.

Trying to force my way through Fallout: New Vegas and it's a pretty big chore. 99% fetch quests. Some of them are laughable; blatantly trying to stretch the game out further than it needs to be. There's no sense of exploration except for finding abandoned shacks with tin cans and coffee cups. I don't remember Fallout 3 being like this at all, or maybe it's just been too long. I just remember thoroughly enjoying that game and all the DLC. Should I just skip to Fallout 4? I heard some people weren't happy with Fallout 4 but not sure why they weren't.

I would say definitely skip to Fallout 4. New Vegas is one of those games that everyone says how great it is, but I tried to play it a couple of times and just hated every minute I spent with it. In comparison, 4 has a ton of UI and quality of life improvements, and the shooting and weapon customization is actually fun. I would say that the story is ultimately unsatisfying but as shooter-RPG game it's a great experience.

It sounds like you're sort of the same way, in which case I'd recommend jumping to Fallout 4, if you're craving more Fallout after you can always go back to New Vegas. Fallout 4 has by far the best combat, and graphics, it also has a greater sense of exploration, more varied enemies, (even legendary enemies which add some depth). the story is where it fell flat for me... it also felt like it just didn't have a soul, like it was just going through the motions... I hate to say I've outgrown the post-apocalyptic genre, since I'm so heavily into it, (I even seek out and read post-apocalyptic books haha), so I don't think that's it, I just think it felt tedious... after about 40 hours I think I gave up on it. I felt I had to keep constructing cities, breaking down items repeatedly, and for little payoff, none of the quests I did were interesting or had surprising or rewarding conclusions.

I don't want to spoil much, I do think you'll enjoy it, I just recommend not paying too much attention to building/crafting, it's a time sink and takes you out of the immersion of an end of the world scenario. The first 10 or so hours were a blast though, the combat is much improved over previous entries. I still intend to go back to it when a complete edition releases and playing it properly.

Thanks for the info, I'll probably try to finish New Vegas. I looked up a walkthrough and apparently I'm near the end (finishing up some Mr. House quests, I likely won't bother with multiple playthroughs to see the other endings). Fallout 4 sounds more like what I was hoping NV would be. I'm playing on hardcore mode, which makes it slightly more challenging, but not much. It just means I usually need to eat or drink something after fast traveling for the fifth time per quest.

I got Skyrim remastered during the last sale and I've never actually played Skyrim (dabbled for about a half hour in it when the game first came out on 360 but remember nothing). I'm actually really looking forward to trying that game after I finish NV, it'll be a nice break from the post-apocalypse before playing Fallout 4.

Don't know if it's been mentioned but the titanfall 2 trial is up. You go to the titanfall 2 store page and there is an option to either buy or play the free trial.

I think that game will benefit bigly from game dvr. The biggest complaint I had about it was you couldn't watch ghosts of other players to get ideas and see how the spawns could be combo'ed.

$50 can GTFO tho. $40 launch price for a really popular remaster seems ok to me, the devs can make a quick profit off early adopters and the price can fall to $20-30 for the rest of us. Skyrim and Darksiders are good examples of decent prices for popular and niche remasters.

Ya it sucks it's more of a crossfire setup, on PC that isn't optimized as much. Hopefully, more developers go back and up date some of their previous titles on PS4 Pro especially exclusives.

Another problem would be do I buy on XB1 and hope they patch Scorpio support for past games. But will I ever go back and play them after if it's a big title I want to play like Mass Effect(or never play like most of my games lol).

I'm guessing Scorpio is a complete hardware refresh, and will not be built with existing XB1 hardware components.

Microsoft announced a while back that all Xbox One games will work on Scorpio.

Yes, it's similar to the PS4 Pro as in they are compatible, doesn't mean the games will benefit from the improved hardware.

The comparison I was trying to make was improved graphics on PS4 Pro on upcoming games now or buy on XB1 and hope they are patched to take advantage of the improved hardware in the Scorpio such as Mass Effect: Andromeda.
