I doubt it, that's a separate game entirely. The Xbox Live Arcade collection disc (for example) launched into each of the separate games themselves, so they contained the arcade game completely. Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is a single game title, not a launcher into the separate game titles (single achievement list, not separate ones).

Edit: I haven't tried it myself, but if Luriden has seen it work, then I stand corrected.

The disc has been fairly sought-after lately for that very reason. I believe the XBLA/BC versions are different than what's on disc and use different emulators (I could be wrong there) but the disc still entitles you to the XBLA/BC versions. You just have to keep the disc in the console to play them. Same thing goes with Doom 3 BFG, which entitles you to Doom 1 and 2 on XBLA.

It's not a bad deal if you can get your hands on the disc, and Walmart has had it discounted for $10 several times recently. I just can't be bothered to get up and put a disc in my console whenever I want to play some Genesis games. When I want to play a Genesis game, it's usually spur-of-the-moment when I have a few minutes to kill or when I take my system to a friend's house, so having them digitally just works out better for me.

I have a question for all you SW Battlefront players. Does the new skirmish mode allow you to play all the mp stuff by yourself against bots? Does it add anything else? I'm pretty excited to try it out, but it probably won't be until tomorrow night.
 
I guess I will try a hard reboot as when I use the sonics ultimate genesis collection disk i get the standard not Backwards compatible message

Very strange. I wonder if they removed support. I know someone personally that mentioned they had the option to install the games. They're located in Japan but have a US console and disk. There's also several instances of people online (reddit, etc) that report they can do it.

EDIT: Apparently it's being blocked with the dash update. Are you guys on the beta?

its basically walker assault and fighter squadron offline against bots either solo or split screen co op

Also I'm so fucking done with the preview program. I rarely play my XB1 on these days since there's nothing to play. Need new Madden, 2K, & Gears. So usually like every 3-4 days I get on and every time I have a 3.9gb update. Not once in July did I not have that shit. I can't take this anymore.

I turn it on because I want to watch HBOGo real quick but nope download this 3.9gb update that you downloaded 4 times before already.

Yea I'm opting out, shit's not worth it anymore.

I Felt that way after the last update last year and didn't give any fucks to opt in this year. There is really no benefit whatsoever and is just a hassle to have to stop whatever it is you're doing to do a mandatory update. Let alone sometimes more than one in a week. I Really have no idea why people want to get in the preview program or ask for invites, games or shows stopping abruptly for a feature that should've been there months or years ago is not worth it.

The updates have been ramping up...I think it's been 1 update a day for the past 7 days. They're like 400 MB but if you skip an update you have to download the whole 3GB thing instead.

I just let it update while sleeping with the instant on. I like the preview program. I have never been unable to do something due to an update.

Yea it was nice for a while. I've been in it since day one, shit I probably invited more people to that program that anybody else here haha. I won't be missing much. Getting early access to betas and codes and stuff is cool but I'll live. I pretty much just wasted an hour when I could have watched like two episodes of something.

See that's stupid that it's like that. So in order to not have a damn near 4gb update every time I get one, I have to turn my system on every day. I don't know why they can't just let me download what I missed.

Seriously considering getting out of Preview as well. Updating once every 1-2 weeks or whatever was fine, but this one-a-day (and I had two this past Sunday) shit is ridiculous. If their download speeds were better and the installation didn't take like 10 minutes afterwords it would be different.

Waiting to see if they slow down after the S comes out. If not, I'm done. Only did it so I could get BC early, most of the new features they are adding now (ie Cortana) are not worth using in the first place.

I love the bitching about the new preview, you know the one that even if you're in the program you had to opt in for? Almost like they knew it would be buggy and require a ton of patches. It's like they anticipated that not all preview members would be up for a heavy testing phase...

I'm glad I got to try out Cortana and even happier now that the classic "xbox" commands work. When I get background music before the unwashed masses, I'm going to have such an unwarranted air of superiority. It's going to be a lovely day.

Re: background music  - I was able to use Cast to listen to a podcast while playing, but when I tried to install the new version of Groove (the one with the green tile, not the blue one), it wouldn't download. From what I saw everyone else had the same thing happen? So no music for me yet, unless I listen to a music podcast I guess.

Either way, background audio is definitely enabled now.

It installed for me, and has updated twice in the past few days. But it isn't functional. Just has a "new version coming soon" message with a button to open the current version.
 
Just traded in Mirror's Edge because its price is tanking, bought Overwatch used. Was going to post in the trade thread for the codes but tried mine and they worked, I basically scored a new copy. :)

I deserved it, I decided to go back to Fallout 4 and finish it (was like 30 minutes away but I was mad at how bad the game actually is).
