Just got my first rare achievement with shiny diamond popup! Weirdly enough it was just for hitting a home run of >500 feet in super mega baseball and I got it in my first game...

Yeah, gotta break the norm sometime. As an American, can't shoot people in the face and kill zombies 24/7 :p

And RE6 gets a 2/10. Save your money or buy something else that is way better. Even if tonight's drops don't tickle your fancy, caving and buying RE6 is no bueno

I love the game, but my OCD makes it rough since I'm just now getting into it. I want to play the missions in the order of release and instead I have like 17 pages of quest lines to complete and I have no idea which expansion which quest is from. I finally said eff it to the story and started doing quests at random just to clear them from my quest log. Story is something about good guys vs bad guys, whatever.

I've still never done a raid, I hear they're pretty long. Home life makes it hard to sit down and play a game for that long without interruptions and I'd be letting my team down in the process.

I got one a couple weeks back in Dirt Rally (win an event in helmet cam mode). Love the way it sounds when it pops and glad they're recognizing these!

Mile High Club really wasn't that bad once you had a strategy/path down, and there's several of those on YouTube. It's only daunting at first when you see what lies ahead combined with the time limit.

And I would rather have done that 10 more times than do all the crappy zombie/survival achievements in all the newer CoD games. I hate busting my ass in the campaign to get all the achievements, then have zombie achievements that require pure luck instead of skill. That was the only thing stopping me from getting 100% on WaW. CoD4 Remastered should be a cakewalk.

Even the Nintendo Switch will be getting remasters of Splatoon, Mario Kart, heavily rumored Smash Bros and oh yeah, SKYRIM remastered too. This is the remaster Gen folks. Pubs gotta make side cash since AAA games are so expensive nowadays. And if gamers are willing to shell out full price, then that's just the way things will be

Nintendo have arguably been doing remasters for generations already, they just call them sequels.

No, really though. Their sequels might as well be remasters. I can see them pulling a Sony though. "Sorry, our new console is not BC and you can't play your Wii U games on it. BTW, interested in downloading New Super Mario Bros. Wii U for $60 on your NIntendo Switch?"

I think the remaster business is the worst thing to happen to gaming ever, even worse than the Halo 5 microtransaction business that's taking over, but I'm starting to get used to it. I don't plan on getting rid of my 360 ever since there's games on it I KNOW for a fact won't ever go BC or get remastered, so I just play my games there until the remaster I want hits $5 on a XBL sale, and if I'm lucky, it contains DLC I don't have on my 360 version, so it all evens out. Like Skyrim, for example. I own the game on 360 but not the DLC for it, so I'd gladly pay $20 for it during a sale just for the complete package that also happens to be in the form of a remaster. But people paying $50 for the Batman Arkham remasters? I can't even fathom.

Just puts into perspective how awesome MS is with BC. Granted I'm still waiting for OG XBox BC... which probably will never happen.

Also thanks to MS I know which companies suck/are greedy and won't let games go BC.

Also makes you wonder if the XBox One Project Scorpio will be the last BC system, or will MS truly go with the forwards compatibility plan. There is a insane amount of money that can be left on the table if your game is of high quality and doesn't get remastered, rather a simple BC port.

I'd like to see games get remastered and on BC. I'd still think they would get a insane amount of sales like Skyrim and the Bioshock collection. I haven't heard of the Batman numbers, but I know MUA didn't do to hot (probably because it was $60 originally).

Wonder if Bioshock will ever go BC as promised as well, despite the remasters.

JFC Luriden. We get it. You hate remasters. You post about it nearly once a week. But unfortunately you are in the vocal minority on this. They sell well - and will keep selling well.

It is well past time that you accept the fact that some of us have favorite games from previous gen. And when they come out again with, we want to play them again, with a fresh coat of paint. Because we love those games.

Do you still only have your favorite movies on VHS? You never upgraded to DVD.... then Blu-Ray... then UHD/4K?

Do you still only own White Pony on cassette?

I don't like it either, but feel it isn't going away any time soon. As you said, Nintendo started doing it back in the day with Super Mario All-Stars. I am extremely selective with the remaster purchases. Even then, they have to be a low price at retail. Waiting for Bioshock Collection to hit that sweet spot. Only reason I am playing thru Arkham Asylum remastered, is cause I got in on that gamefly deal last month so I figured I'd rent it, why not....but I do know a friend who gladly shelled out $50 for Return to Arkham. And I'm quite sure a decent handful in here got Skyrim Remastered Day One. To each their own. We work hard for our money and we're adults now!!!

Edit: Go back another decade(early/mid 80's) and Atari was porting Pac-Man from the 2600 to the 5200. At least Atari did it right and the 5200 version was a proper remaster. The 2600 edition is known for being notoriously bad.....My old man memory fails from time to time

Yeah I wouldn't buy RE6 for $10 digitally. Was fun to play through once but if you don't have someone to play in co-op I think you are likely never to go back to it. I traded my copy after I played all the stories through once.

JFC Luriden. We get it. You hate remasters. You post about it nearly once a week. But unfortunately you are in the vocal minority on this. They sell well - and will keep selling well.

It is well past time that you accept the fact that some of us have favorite games from previous gen. And when they come out again with, we want to play them again, with a fresh coat of paint. Because we love those games.

Do you still only have your favorite movies on VHS? You never upgraded to DVD.... then Blu-Ray... then UHD/4K?

Do you still only own White Pony on cassette?

Hey hey, now. I haven't posted about it in awhile, I was joining in on an existing conversation, don't single me out.

But you can't honestly say that every remaster that's been released has received a fresh coat of paint. That's what my major complaint is. I plan on getting Skyrim when the price drops. If a developer puts their effort into making a shiny new package that offers a new perspective and experience for a game that we all know and love, and at a price lower than that of a new game coming out we've never played before, then sure.

Upgrading from VHS to DVD? That's a huge jump worth making. That's not a fresh coat of paint, that's upgrading the model by about 20 years. That's Halo CE Anniversary basically. (not 20 years of course, but THAT was an improvement that was totally necessary.) Also, Blu Ray players are technically backwards compatible. Same thing goes with your White Pony comment, and that's, what, a $10 upgrade to a newer format that completely changes the quality and experience? And you do realize we're talking about 360-to-XB1 and not original Xbox-to-XB1, right? It's not an entirely new format or SD-to-HD, it's a $50-60 trim around the sharp edges while completely ignoring the fact that backwards compatibility is already an option. Once again, Skyrim is excluded here since it's a remaster done right.

Like I mentioned in a previous comment, I'm more okay with it now that I'm seeing price drops like flies on these remasters. I'm still butthurt about remasters losing features existing in 360 versions, like multiplayer in some games, but I'd pay $5 for some sort of upgrade as long as it's not a straight port of a game that came out less than five years ago. I just bought the original RE remaster. Totally worth it since the GC was two generations ago and I don't even know where my GC is anymore.

Additionally some of us missed some great games and trade/sold off our 360s and PS3s. Being able to pick up some of these games we missed out on is great. I usually wait for them to be cheap. Don't see the big deal. Don't want to spend $60 on some remaster? Don't. It will eventually drop to $20 or less. I will probably pick up BioShock at some point. I played Infinite and a bit of BS1 but never finished it or played 2. Great to have that option when it is cheap enough for me to buy.

 
I'm playing through Skyrim for the first time on the 360 and I gotta ask, people wanted a remaster of this?? Really? I Mean, I'm not saying it's a bad game, but it's too much goddamn game! I'm over 60 hours in and recently just beating the "Diplomatic Immunity" mission and also getting the complete 10 side missions achievement and only level 30 and I know I haven't even scratched the surface. Hell, I haven't even gotten to the damn DLC. I Mean, who the hell has time to play through this game all over again? Why would I want to relive the adventure of my good hearted, cannibal, werewolf?

I mostly want it for improved load times. Xboxachievements.com did a comparison stream. Close to (if not more than) 2 minutes on 360 to exit a building. Only a few seconds on Xbox One. Load times on 360 get worse the longer you play they said and were using a save with over 100 hours played.

I bought Skyrim SE. I bought Batman: Return to Arkham. I bought BioShock Collection. I bought Dead Island: Defintive... all 3 Dead Rising remasters... all 3 Resident Evil remasters... Darksiders... Gears UE, etc etc.

Yeah, I'm very well aware. And you're not alone, most of my friends list on XBL own all of those. I won't single anyone out, everyone does it now, I just hate it. I also have people on my friends list that spend $100 on Halo 5 card packs every week and it's frustrating, but it is what it is. But when I buy Gears 4 and have microtransactions shoved down my throat because of people like the asshats on my friends list spending $100 on Halo 5 cards every week, it does make my blood boil.

I'm also totally guilty of buying Gears UE and the Borderlands collection, and I plan on buying the Dead Rising collection when the price drops, because finding DR2 OTR for under $15 is impossible.

Wow that's insane time saving. Skyrim is in my 360 backlog still yet to be played. I always tell myself to play what I have, but if the loading time is THAT different, I may wait until new Skyrim is cheap and just remove old Skyrim from the backlog and save those 100+ hours.

I can confirm the load times in Skyrim SE are mere seconds now. Both for going in and out of buildings and also when you reload your save.

Can you still read the loading screen tips and descriptions of said game? That's one of the best parts of Bethesda games, all the extra info you learn in the loading screens lol. Shit, a lot of stuff wasn't told to you in Fallout 4 so if those loading screens go by too fast, with no button to just toggle continue, ahh we're gonna have to rely on internet wikiland!

I believe it. The shocking part was that the 360 version takes so long, but it's believable. We never noticed it back then but man the 360 takes a couple minutes to load up everything. Feels like ages when you own an XB1.

 
So now that it's Monday, is anyone still playing Borderlands the Handsome Jack Collection? I'm wondering if we get to keep our digital copies or if that was just a temporary license to get the full version of the game for the weekend. Xbox.com still says I own it, but there is a separate version I can buy for $24

Is it possible that people re-buying old "remaster" games and people spending tons of money on microtransactions are what keep gaming affordable for those of us who don't do those things? If publishers didn't think they could re-sell a game multiple times or sell card packs, etc., they would likely charge $100 or more for the games in the first place and we'd probably all be in a worse place for it.

Still $13 at gamestop though. I randomly picked it up during a 4/ $xx sale because I needed a 4th game when I first got a 360 last year. A year later it's still sitting halfway down the stack of my backlog
