The only challenging one might be "Complete the Leviathan raid or a Nightfall strike on Prestige difficulty" because the assumption is that Prestige may be a new harder difficulty. In theory, all achievements can be completed in a month. Really surprised they didn't keep the flawless raider one in there.

Hmmm...I enjoyed the mechanics and gameplay of the first, but didn't play it much. Maybe I'll get it when it drops in price and have some fun with it while racking up some semi-quick GS.

Gears 4 now shows 2000 total gamerscore on xbox.com but the achievement list hasn't updated yet.

The troll factor in Harbor Haze for Gears looks fantastic though.

Edit: PUBG had 2 million sales in two weeks. Looks like It's gonna reach top 40 best selling non-mobile games of all time with ease at this rate.

That's because when the new maps came out, everybody was bitching about them and why TC wouldn't just redo "classic" maps instead. And now that Checkout, Gridlock and War Machine just to name a few are out.......they want "original" maps.

Just signed onto my xbox at work and it's raining Gears 4 achievements. I haven't even played the game in almost 2 months.

They seem really basic and easy, so if you've gone through the story or spent a little time in multiplayer, it's gonna rain!!

I'm sure people would've been fine with 1 classic map and 1 new map each month, not 1 classic and 1 remixed launch map. Including today's, it looks like there have been 4 brand new DLC maps DLC (Dawn, Diner, Glory, Speyer), 4 launch remixes and 14 returning.

But it's a delicate balance with the Gears community. Popped 15 of the 18 new achievements. Two that didn't pop are co-op campaign related, which I won't get until I solo the campaign on Insane. The other I should've met the requirements for (upgrade 3 skill cards), unless the description is lacking and it means to fully upgrade 3 cards. Though that goes against their post saying the new achievements should unlock for people that have been playing for a while.

I'm pretty sure TC knew they found themselves in a "damned if we do, damned if we don't" type situation and gave up. Rod stated on several occasions that a certain level of "betrayal" was required in order to move the franchise forward. Which in itself is ironic seems many people feel/felt Gears 4 was "more of the same" (however, that doesn't seem not to apply to other franchises with also four or more entries, those get away with it by "sticking to their style").

But yeah, they could've balanced it better and we all hate the loot boxes.

Also, didn't Epic also try to mess with wall-bouncing because they felt fans were not playing Gears like they intended? Can't remember.

If you go to Condemned's US marketplace page, the "Buy Game" link on the left says $4.99 while the listing shows $19.99. It may just not have processed properly for the US yet. I haven't attempted to purchase to see what may show up on the confirmation screen.

Major hasn't made his sale post yet, and he has said in the past he won't post until everything's properly marked down.

I think they tried to tweak wall bouncing. They also apparently didn't code past games well enough to be easily tweaked post release, given the number of times the devs said updates were "hard" on the forums.

I went ahead and clicked on it, says $19.99 in the confirmation screen. Xbox "purchases" are also being wonky right now, which is the new normal it seems

I'm assuming everyone has it already, BUT Guardian Heroes for $1.24 is the steal of the century. Every Xbox gamer better have it or buy it. Pure bliss.
 
Grabbed DIRT 4 and went through the Dirt Academy. I'm now a bonafide rally driver but I'm ready to play the game. Still installing.

Lol this generation's problems, oh don't worry, you can play the game while it's downloading for you... until you get to that part where you're still waiting to play the rest of the game.

Also FYI Gems of War got updated, brings a new dungeon where you have to defeat boss encounters to receive crafting rewards which you can put towards the new Soulforge (which crafts a bunch of new stuff).

Self plug, with all the Codemaster on my brain I decided to go back to Codemaster's GRiD 2, since it's BC, and try to mop up some achievements. I managed to grab the Gone in 60 Secs achievement, setting a lap record under a minute. It was. not. easy. lol.

Is Gems of War still a match three game or am I confusing it for something else? It seems to get lots of love from the devs.

 
If you uninstalled Gears 4 or just don't want to wait to unlock achievements, open up the Gears 4 achievement list on the Xbox mobile app. Just unlocked 11 achievements on my lunch hour.

Nice. I picked up 375 gamerscore. I only had 270 to begin with.

Funny thing is this is so new it is like 6,000+ TA score. For now.

Yeah it's from the original Puzzle Quest dev but this time with an in-game shop. I haven't spent a dime on it but I'll bet a lot of people have since it's F2P with a large install base (well big because anyone can download it).

Did you do the Hardcore Ironman ones for real or with a casual partner? I'm working on solo Insane. I beat the bike part last weekend and the first encounter with the Pouncers this past weekend and I have a hard time imagining 1CCing the game on those higher difficulties.

But for a brief moment, I caught a glimpse of what it must be like to be Loinsteak, Jess and some of the other high GS people in the thread.

 
I got 6 for 150 after installing the update. All were tagged as rare achievements.

Went and got my d2 le prerung and now trying out my movie pass that came today. So far it worked as advertised. Got to the theater, checked in, and used the card to buy a ticket.

August backlog report: I mentioned I was trying something new last month, which was going to be an alternate way to burn calories while still gaming.   I had tried more Kinect games a few months ago, and that didn't really work.  This time I moved my recumbent exercise cycle in front of the xbox and played some turn based and low-dexterity games.  The idea was slow burn...

Conclusion: didn't really work.  I finished Life is Strange and Agatha Christie, and started Child of Light, but gaming took twice as long this way and just wasn't fun.  Towards the end of the month I gave up and went back to keeping exercise and gaming separate.  I can exercise more intensely this way, and for shorter bursts, and gaming is much more fun when not sweating.  Fitness results for past five weeks ending today (in bodyfat%): 21.0; 20.2, 21.0, 18.1, 16.9, 18.6.  Indulged too much this past week and a half, but c'est la vie.

Games completed:

  • Slime Rancher: really fun GwG; good concept, cute, doesn't overstay its welcome.
  • Life is Strange: I know plenty of people loved it, but I didn't enjoy this game really.  Too long.  Nonsensical main plot.
  • Agatha Christie: hmmm, glad it's finished
Games wrapped up:

  • Homefront: the Revolution: enjoyed this underdog a lot; hopefully by some miracle there is a sequel
Games Started:

  • Child of Light: jury is still out.  Early stages are easy going so far.
  • Aven Colony: sim\builder games are a favorite genre of mine.  This one gets a 6.5/10 mostly because it is too easy.
  • Elite Dangerous: flying the ship was nowhere near as tough as everyone says.  Early grind is both overwhelming and yet also mind-numbing.  Currently running delivery missions to raise cash. 
For September I plan to dig into more simulation and builder games, and also try to wrap up some games that have been hanging around unfinished for months, if not years.

To answer your other question - these are strictly the indie store games; games on demand and arcade games are totally different and aren't impacted.

Thank you for answering. I was afraid nobody would. Based on your comments, it sounds like the following will happen this weekend:

- All 3,404 "Indie" games on XBL will disappear for purchase.

- "Indie" games we bought on XBL should remain downloadable and playable as long as we are logged into our purchase account on XBL.

Is this correct? If yes, then it doesn't sound so bad after all. I was afraid I would lose the Indie Games that I bought.

Did it with on Hardcore with both of us on the same difficulty.

- Contrast. Really liked this. Wish it was a bit longer.

A friend of mine had the idea to do sets of pushups/situps in between multiplayer matches, and doing like 2 for each death. I occasionally do that, but it only really works for BF. I don't get killed enough in Overwatch for it to really add up, whereas in BF I easily get a dozen to 20 deaths even in a match where I'm doing well. Of course, for me doing well is keeping a 1:2 K:D ratio.
