the game is very rough around the edges, but it's one of the most fun games I've ever played in my life

On a side note ended up buying Mad Max. I used to own the disk but traded it in during Flipageddon. Maybe I'll finally end up playing it now!

Almost finished Ruiner, I still have to play it on pc since I cannot seem to be able to do anything with the controller on console.

I started Cuphead. The 6 year old wanted to try it but he couldn't beat the tutorial. According to Microsoft Expert Zone the game is considered a casual family experience....It was still fun watching him try to parry for 20 minutes.....

Mad Max is awesome! My favorite parts were taking down the convoys. Hilarious boss names too.
 
You know, I think I finally understand how Mixer and Twitch are relevant to me. It’s a good way to see games in action. I spent the last 20 minutes watching a couple Cuphead streams, I liked what I saw and am likely to grab the game in the near future.
 
Apparently I wrote a monster post, whoops.

Didn't have time to see Blade Runner yet between work and trying and failing to get my homework done. I'll probably check it out in the next few days here. Having actually just watched the original for the first time this week to prepare, I don't think the gap in time between them is what hurt it, the movie holds up extremely well, other than maybe the far off future of 2019. While it is extremely atmospheric with top-tier world design and clearly a huge influence, I can definitely see the "normie" crowd viewing it as boring. I don't think cyberpunk has really reached a mass audience at any point either, Ghost in the Shell (the various anime over the years) probably went the farthest but it's still not that far reaching.

Everything I'm hearing is about 2049 is great, and even if I don't like it I've got to hand to the director for making this happen. To wrap up my off topic talk, the SNES hack officially released today, allowing you to run about 70% of the US and Japanese libraries through the default emulator, along with some of the incompatible games and many other systems through a different emulator. It's pretty easy to set up and you can even reset it back to default with the same program if you want it set up like new in the future. It also adds a button combination system reset for convenience. I'm not sure how it handles ROM hacks overall, but it does run a Final Fantasy V fan translation.

For some XBL talk, I played three or four games of the Battlefront beta yesterday. I do like the game more than the first, the gameplay changes are pretty good overall. The menus are kind of overwhelming though. There are a lot of currencies and it seems like each class has a lot of cards. I'm pretty worried about how lootboxes are going to affect this game long term. And while I do like that ships and the like aren't just pick-ups your team fights over on the map, the new method of basically earning per-game XP seems like it will just make the best players unstoppable since they will more quickly unlock a good vehicle or hero character to wreck shit even more.

I think I'm hitting the wall on Destiny 2, I've unlocked just about all the exotics for my class, probably 3/4ths of the exotic weapons, and I'm like 303. The raid's rewards suck, you can burn through the weekly Luminous Engrams in a few hours, and I'm basically to the point where the only thing of substance I have to do is max out my secondary characters. While I think a lot of the stuff that made people want to keep playing D1 forever was removed to the benefit of 2 (stuff like random weapon rolls), I don't think they did enough if anything to really replace it. Basically you're playing without actual goals once you're around 300 power and have all the gear you care about. This was kind of true in the first game, but it took so much longer to get there. Some of the other changes hurt too, like the upcoming Iron Banner not having power levels enabled. It just makes it into a normal playlist with some nice looking armor as rewards instead of a unique Crucible experience.

At least Overwatch's Halloween event starts this week to make up for it. The leaked skins look great.

 
If I have credit that expires on the 9th it will expire tomorrow night right and not tonight at 12?

This week's FH3 forzathon is super easy. Get a hypercar and go fast. That's it. Win a Street Race, win a race (be done with the Street Race), get 20 speed skills & get 3 stars in a speed trap to win a Jaguar F-type. Lol, when I checked out what Groove Music would do in the game FH3 crashed on me.
 
Just got back from Blade Runner. It was okay, but it’s really just not that great. They could have definitely edited out like a half hour of artsy crap to make the time commitment more palatable as well
 
Really, really, really looking forward to TEW2. The first one had a lot of flaws that I think could have been fixed with further polish and what not. I know it was on the XBox X enhanced list and since removed from the official list. I await the verdict.

Shadow of Mordor 2 looks like a lot of fun but with the scummy micro transactions and the fact that the game of the year version was dirt cheap later makes me want to wait it out.

Danger Zone didn't get glowing reviews on the PS4 but I want to give that a whirl when It's cheap. I miss Burnout.

They also need to make Burnout Revenge BC. I prefer the old style Burnout games over Burnout Paradise.

Yeah they give you 4 days to complete something that took me about 30 mins. Wonder if they will continue forzathons for FH3 or if that is about over now that FM7 is out.

This is why I never signed up for the preview program. The days of me being a beta tester on my console are over. I just want to fire it up and play.

Hopefully they get your shit straightened out soon.

 
I don't know when this change happened, but the new Minecraft has a really annoying double input problem for placing items. I'm building a covered bridge for the 500m rail car achievement and it keeps placing multiple glass or wood with one press, which can be bad for glass since you can't recover it if it puts it in the wrong place.

Preview program can be fun. But when big things break like that, ugh. It made me drop out because I couldn’t do something big a year ago - play games or chat I was hitting the easy button to get out.
 
Think the power brick for my console went bad atleast according to Xbox support it, works for about ten minutes after I reset the power brick. Anyone have a spare one they’d be willing to sell?

Thanks jimbo, and yeah; I've been in it since the 360 so I have a lot of points and all that saved up, but this update has been the first one that's been making me consider opting out, at least for a while. I'm able to deal with party chat not working since I can talk to my friends using Skype or other programs still, not being able to play games on top of that is crazy, I'm gonna try to get the free Skyrim add on using a family members Xbox so hopefully that works.

 
Apparently my assessment of Battlefront lines up with the community. Their Reddit is all complaining about the lootboxes. Apparently the only way to level up your character classes are through RNG drops from the crates, meaning you might not even get stuff for the class you play the most, sort of like Mass Effect multiplayer. You can get scrap to upgrade weapons, but those drops are part of the loot pool too. There are a bunch of terrible win poses clogging up the loot pool too.

Some of the big Youtubers did videos on it too, Angry Joe and Total Biscuit. TB is talking about lootboxes in general but he focuses on this for part of it.

I love the cross platform play and the ability to use a mouse and keyboard.... But holy crap is it confusing. I feel as though I am playing the PC version and can't really navigate the menus with a controller. Also you better know ur recipes. Because you can't just know what you can make if you have the ingredients. You have to input them.... But I haven't played it a couple of patches so this may no longer be true.

Only bright side I can tell you is none of the skills really made it that much harder to kill anyone, you can go in with an empty class and kill people with gold cards rather easily still, I know there will be more in the full release but they seem to be mostly ability or damage/time based at least, and not like more health or defense so far, so it's still easy to kill them.

It is a little crappy never getting cards for my favorite class but the gameplay was amazing and I'm still definitely grabbing it at launch

I disagree with you there on TEW having flaws I know it did at launch but most if not all had been patched when I 1000gs'd It 2 years ago.That game was flawless although my only gripe was cheap hit detection/boxes when on akumu an enemy would grab you through door or hit you a few feet away and that's the only game I want this year TEW2.

I didn't mind it in Andromeda since there was no PVP and getting upgrades to other classes randomly might encourage players to check out other characters. But generally speaking I'm not a fan of this as the only means to progress.

I know that some of the cards for the ships are defense related, and I also know Boba Fett has a damage reduction while jetpacking card.

The following is based on when cross play update went live for everybody to the current version, may not apply to the preview version because I didn't play it.

The crafting UI is very strange at first, but with a couple hours feels much better than the old UI. As long as you have the ingredients, the option to craft that item will be there. No need to know the recipe. You can toggle "craftable" and see recipes without even having the ingredients. Or as some crazy people prefer, like my friend that plays on PC, you can memorize recipes and place the ingredients manually.

The biggest problem with cross-play update was the LT being way too sensitive, but that has since been patched. Smaller problems I have now are getting disconnected randomly and minecarts randomly disappearing. Purchases now being account bound sucks. I can't share skins with my wife anymore.

I had about 10 animals and zombies in minecarts circling my home. Maybe 4 are left. There were a lot of collisions and sometimes they would get off track. I will retry with a much larger track where they won't collide and see what happens.

Sorry that was random, but I really miss my baby zombie riding a cow riding a minecart. Anyway feels like a lot of people are shitting on this update for the most random reasons. Minecraft devs are on top of updates and listen to the community. If you feel that there is something wrong with the game, there is probably a fix incoming. I doubt they will change the new and improved crafting UI.

Huh, guess I didn't focus too much on ship cards as I didn't get many, that's good to know though. Wonder if not many people had those cards or if they didn't make a big enough difference to notice...thanks for mentioning that though, guess I'll see how it is come launch

 
Honestly can't remember the reduction percentage. The ship one was probably smallish, but the Boba Fett one was significant. The maximum reduction was 100%. Granted, that's only while jetpacking and I don't know how fast the cooldown for that is, and it makes you an obvious target, but it's very clearly an advantage.

Watch out - they might charge you $19.99 or so for the ring pre-order bonus if you don't return that as well. That's what happened with me when I cancelled Gears of War 4 but they had already shipped the bonus Moscow Mule mug.

 
I think the best way to go is the PvZ GW approach where all the RND items are cosmetic or celebrations. Don't touch my gameplay you sobs! Lol

On console? That's never been true. They added the ability to craft the old school way, but it's not required or anything like that.

 
I'm really worried about battlefront 2.... I feel as though in its current state it will be pay to win for multiplayer.... unless you unlock weapons some other way like through the single player. Upgrading and unlocking must be done with credits, and you can only get credits from the loot boxes. I only got between 10-20 credits per loot box... if I was lucky to get any at all. I remember the secondary Assault class gun cost 600 credits. So if I get the average of 15 credits in my loot boxes, then it will take my 40 loot boxes to unlock one gun (and you can't forget you don't always get credit from the boxes).... not to mention the 3 different card versions you can upgrade with credit since you hardly ever get the gold cards. People are just going to pay a premium to unlock everything so they don't have to waste their time.... I also wish the classes had different skins but I didn't get any from my rolls. Only victory posses.

When I first downloaded it from the preview program I couldn't find a way to craft things the simpler way. Maybe I was missing something right in front of my face but it always brought up the crafting block for me. This was a few months ago by now though.
