You could probably set up a second PSN account that doesn't have PS+. Set it to make your PS4 the primary console. Use that account to buy the PS+ games with real money or credit. Should work I would think. But like the others I am not going to let my subs expire. And if I did the games come back when you resubscribe. I used to watch people whine about this in the PSN deals thread and was like BFD.

Also like others have been saying both systems have their annoying / stupid problems. Not being able to buy 360 games on their website or from a XBox One console is stupid. Having to manually sync trophies on PS4 is IMO stupid. Not being able to buy a game that is already free with your PS+ sub is lame but not a big deal to me. Having to have a credit card (or Visa/MC gift card) on file to claim the free GWG 360s is annoying. I try to figure out how to get the most out of each system even with some of the "dumb" things they do.

I have way more games (And I am probably not as bad as most here) then I will ever play. So even if I let my subs lapse I would be fine for a few years if I just played though the games I care about in my backlog.

Sorry missed that. I still carry my Vita to and from work but haven't really used it in a while. Wonder if I should have traded it a couple weeks ago when I think there was a bump at Game Stop. Really wish there were some decent new FPS games but well it is deader then BC.

 
Heard back from Microsoft Rewards support. They said it was a bug, so I reordered and now it doesn't autodecline anymore.
So that's comforting.

AFAIK, it's a system wipe type even to put a new account on a Vita. That seems backwards to me.

Is the Ducktales included in the Afternoon Collection the same as the stand alone Ducktales Remastered?  Kind of interested in the collection for some quick nostalgia.  Never played Tale Spin or Darkwing Duck, either.

 
So I tried redeeming Bing Rewards for the $5 Xbox GC and keep getting auto-declined.

Is this happening to anyone else or am I banned? Never used a bot, not sure why I'd be banned all of a sudden.

Edit: Yeah, I think I'm banned. God damnit.

Heard back from Microsoft Rewards support. They said it was a bug, so I reordered and now it doesn't autodecline anymore.
So that's comforting.
Just tried to order my third $5 gift card in a week, and got hit with the automatic decline. Tried to order again and same thing. I just contacted rewards support and hope the issue gets cleared up soon and I am not banned.

Nope, the standalone is a full-on remake, not a remaster (despite the use of the word remaster in the title). The collection just has the original NES game in all its old-school glory.

It's the same one. I bought it (mostly because my wife has been wanting to play) and enjoy it. It has a rewind feature, which has done a great job of highlighting just how terrible I am compared to my child self.

SUPER HOT. SUPER HOT. SUPER HOT. Finally picked this up from the sale and ho-ly shit...it's so good. I couldn't stop playing last night. Might be the best indy game I've ever played. Man, it's just so good.

having odst means I dont need any of the halo 3 map packs right? grabbed the one reach DLC I didnt have
The ODST multiplayer disc has all the Halo 3 maps, as it's basically the Halo 3 multiplayer mode in all its glory. If you want to play those maps using a digital copy of Halo 3, you need to own the map packs.

I agree on not wanting to rebuy games and think they all should be on principle, but GTAV perplexes me given how different the current gen version is and all the stuff they added to it. Also, for so many duplicates to be in the top 10 is obnoxious. Where's the love for MGS, Tales of Vesperia, the earlier Tomb Raider games before the 2013 reboot...

 
Hm. Turns out one of my brothers and one of my sisters didn't get their $5, but the rest of us did.

Sister bought near the deadline, brother bought a day or so before. Hopefully it's just delayed and we won't have to get support involved.

So far with this sale,  I've picked Wolfenstein New Order and Old Blood, Skyrim and debating picking up Resident Evil 7 and Dark Souls 3.. I was wondering if Resident Evil 7 is worth the buy or just to rent? Also, I haven't played any Dark souls games before but I do have Dark Souls 2 in my backlog and I've heard the gameplay is similar to Nioh which is a good ass game. So I guess my question is if I should go Dark Souls 3 standard or deluxe?

Not sure how you could have misunderstood the question. He asked if the DuckTales that comes in the Disney Afternoon Collection is the remastered version. You said yes when that is not true.
 
I never got into LOTR, is Mordor still worth it? For $4, it sounds worth it given all the praise I've heard for it.
Our tastes seem to run a little different, so take it with a grain of salt. I still think that Mordor was one of the best games of this generation. The Nemesis system was incredible. The graphics were great. I can't praise it highly enough. I jumped all over the GOTY version for $4 and will probably end up sinking hours into it tonight. I already have 1350 GS on the non GOTY version...
 
You guys talking about the GS trade thing made me look through my vast physical gaming library where I discovered many 3DS titles I forgot I had!!!

Also everything I would have to trade, dups/GwG titles, are like less than $3 lol.

Very cool news about the Halo games, I think having BC for those will make a lot of people, if they haven't already, jump on board the Xbox One platform.

Yeah it happened to me too. It's the only inconvenience with the Rewards program, other than saying so many points a day while it depeds on the offer you can go through (like browsing pages with Edge or donating points, etc). It was a thing on their end but I got the something went wrong thing and it's cancelled now around when I ordered my custom controller through Design Labs. I was like wtf, they cancelled my controller? Discussion with CS and they're like yeah just a bug so you should be fine now. Freakin A, they scared me there.

Hmm. It's hard to recommend the dlc if you haven't played the series before, but if you were a fan of Nioh that's a good sign you might like Dark Souls. Nioh is a lot faster paced from what I've seen of the first level and dodging is harder as there aren't invincibility frames and you actually have to get completely out of the way of attacks. Dark Souls has a lot more weapon variety, as even two straight swords like a Longsword and Broadsword still have different animations and combos. Dark Souls drops are all static vs Nioh's loot sifting. From what I could see, healing items are more plentiful in Dark Souls. It also seems much easier, although still difficult, to be a pure caster in DS than Nioh. As far as I could tell looking at the skill trees, you can barely be a half caster in Nioh even at max level. By 5 hrs in to any DS game, you can pretty much go pure mage.*


*tryhards will go pure magic 100%, but you have to run past a lot of mobs as you won't have enough spells to nuke everything. I treat it like D&D, where Wizards are crappy crossbowmen for 1/4 of their career before they get enough magic to rely on.


I love the series and vote for the deluxe, as SPs don't often go on sale by themselves.

Even though Resident Evil 7 has been my most surprising and perhaps my favorite title so far of 2017, you probably could get all you need out of it with a couple day rental. Although the DLC sounded pretty interesting and there is some more coming still I think.

 
If being tied to achievements bothers you, then I got bad news: You get a 1GS (yes, one, uno) for the first level you complete, and you get 199GS for 3-starring every level. I really hate when it's not a zero or 5, and when the 1GS popped up while we were playing, my heart sank. WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT.
I want to see a dev make a linear game where the achievements can only be unlocked in a specific order and go Fibonacci with the gamerscores - 0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233 and 377, with a secret 14 pointer that will be forever "glitched" (Rayman Raving Rabbids, Monster Madness) or through DLC that will never be released (Hellboy). Unless there's a math geek in the right place at MS to approve a game with 986 GS.

 
I already played Shadow of Mordor but for $4 I could not pass on the GOTY version since it has an entire set of achievements.  The big problem is finding time to play it really. I might end up playing Shadow of War before I get to it.  Maybe I will just play without worrying about achievements to freshen up before SoW.  I have not played the DLC yet so that is cool...Is it any good?

I've been a bit of an achievement whore from time to time and I definitely go out of my way to get achievements, but I'm not really a completionist and I definitely don't care if my e-peen ends in a multiple of 5. Shit, I couldn't guess within 5,000 what my score even is right now.
