Guess I'll finally have to play primal come January. Was going to put it off until after 5. Was going to get 5 for my birthday, but may just have to get for no special reason other than to play.
 
Damn guess I wasted $3.75 (or was it less?) on DMC collection hoping it goes BC. Oh well. That's 100% on me because Capcom seems to be porting everything these days.

 
Anyone have a suggestion as to where I could buy green xbox 360 quad disc cases (see picture below )?

Checked ebay and I could only find single disc cases. I don't mind buying a few if required but not necessarily looking for a lot of 50,000 cases.

So as someone that only casually plays shooters, is Destiny 2 a better experience than Destiny 1...?

I bought Destiny 1, but it had no real campaign storyline, and the PvP multiplayer just didn't grab me.

I also remember people saying I had to buy the latest Destiny 1 expansion, because Destiny 1's base game was somehow obsolete without it(?).

As someone who invested $90 on it. I suggest you go elsewhere. Unless you have several gamer friends that play when you play it is honestly not worth it. With friends it is a blast, but basically anything is fun with friends.

Destiny 2 is a lot of fun. As someone who plays solo, you’ll enjoy the campaign and multiplayer. The thing about Destiny always seems to be it’s better after it’s complete. Like Destiny 1 has its hayday when Taken King released and felt incomplete before and Destiny 2 definitely has some of that feel but it’s still a great top notch shooter that feels good to play.

Yeah I was gonna say, there's plenty of games out there to pick from, a lot less of an investment compared to D1 or D2 as well.

Sob, my stable but slow internet period vanished and I'm back to infrequent-drips-of-piss bandwidth again. Ahh and Fortnite has a 9 GB update now...

IDK i think destiny 2 is the best shooter in terms of just fun to play.  You can deny that the gameplay, graphics, mechanics, and sound is top notch.  As a hobbyist game, its not the best currently, but I do believe it will get there at some point.  Is it worth running through the story, even if you dont do the endgame raid and nightfall PVP it's still worth it IMO.  If you can get at least one other person to run through it with you, it's even better.

Was thinking about buying Far Cry 4 but never have played any of the other Far cries before. Does it follow a story or can I just jump right in?

Debating between Far cry 4 and the divison through amazon credit

Like all iterative forms of entertainment, Far Cry 4 improves on the formula they came up with with Far Cry 3, which improved on Far Cry 2, which some would say was better or worse than the OG Far Cry lol.

Far Cry came out and was a game about open ended mission structure. Which that meant was that you could tackle a mission with a vast open ended world going about it however you wished. Far Cry 3 added in the amazing story/infamous villain angle & the watch tower's from Assassin's Creed Ubisoft infused into the series. Explore, find the tall vantage point, explore some more and expand your gaming territory. Far Cry 4 copied it again but you had a larger playfield along with flying vehicles at your fingertips, expanded outposts & Elephants! I might be a bit biased as I loved each entry into the series, even Far Cry Primal - which initially I was like but but Far Cry is all about modern day weaponry lol.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing! StoreParser shows that it has literally never been as cheap as it is now digitally; first time under $20.

Any CAGs have experience with this game? The negative reviews on Xbox.com seem to be trashing the connection, but many of those reviews are several months old.

Was the game itself fun?

Borderlands maybe, it definatly has a better item system, but the game play is not a smooth as Destiny. Gears is some of the worst mechanics ever IMO. I cant play that game for more then 30 min without turning it off.

So the achievement we are talking about here is unlocked by completing the Raid OR the Nightfall on Prestige. Is Prestige Nightfall also negatively affected?

Everyone is entitled to their opinions here but I'd say you're way off on this one.

At a quick glance I'd say Gear of War's gameplay mechanics is infamous for the:

Cover system

Roadie Run system

Active-Reload System

Drop in & out 4 Player Co-op

& of course Horde Mode.

I haven't had them pop while at work like the last big update. I should get those 2. I forgot Series 3 included the preorder and promotional cards. Counted them up, I have 11 of them, plus a few of the UIR ones. So I should pop Mine!, and maybe I'm in the Zone. Would be nice to automatically knock out 4 of the 5 rare achievements for TA's day 5. Hopefully they're still rare by the time I get home from work.

Day 7's challenge is pop an achievement in 7 different games. I might have 7 Lego games I haven't started yet, get the first achievement in each.

Most of this is what i don't like about the game. The cover system is not fun, active reload is a great idea that was not executed well. There is a reason no other games use these mechanics. They sure have their niche following, but I for one cant get into it.

Like you said we all get to have our opinions.

Much of this is still true with D2. The campaign is short. Was ok nothing to write home about. I posted about my D2 experiences earlier today.

If you are solo I would probably pass. Unless you want to play the campaign only. Which you could do as free/cheap Redbox rental. I am going to play a bit more but I have a feeling I won't have a regular partner to play it with this time and that was much of the fun for me.

Wolfenstein 2 is a blast as is Doom both should be cheaper.

I haven't played in months, so I can't speak on connection issues now. They were garbage when I played. Disconnections all the time, especially as soon as the map loaded or 10 seconds into the match. Every once in a while the worst would happen and you'd get disconnected with 30 seconds left. Didn't stop me from getting wicked into the game and getting all the MP achievements. It's very hit or miss for most people. Some say the combat is too complex, others say that it's too simple. It's a lot of fun when you are on a good team that's equal or better to the opponents but if you get an opposing team that's way better it can be miserable, like most multiplayer games. I want to get back and finish the single player campaign which is fun but not the best story.

I'd suggest watching some streams or gameplay videos before picking it up.

For anyone doing TA 12 days: can I double up on days? Like can I earn 2 versus achievements tonight that are 3.0 ratio or higher and then get 1 more 3.0+ achievement and have days 2 and 3 completed or would I have to do the 2 versus even if they are 3.0+ and then the 3.0+ achievements?

Because its hard as fuck to draw in a casual crowd with Gears mechanics. Like I said before, there is no "Press Y to unleash your ultra monster ability!" mechanic. There is no special class you can roll with. You have to put in a lot of time to learn the intricacies of the bouncing/cover/pop shot system. Most people play it, can't get a kill, and just give up. No company wants that for the MP.

It’s fucking horrible. I got the gold version for free after selling off the disc from a Target merged gold copy and I still paid too much.

The response people had to developer tweets in that entire thread about neat developer tricks was the worst. Even that Gears tweet has a guy that's mad that new people get a boost for their first match like it really matters.

 
Don't forget to watch some of the game awards on mixer. Be sure to log in and get some free crap. Awards show starts at 9 eastern, pre-show stuff at 8:30. I'm not sure how long you have to watch to win stuff.

Also- I just noticed Twitch Prime people can download System Shock 2 for free.

I don't know what they promised but they said there would be server enhancements. Either way I played 3 hours with only one drop so I think they are a lot better then they were a few months ago. Let's see how it changes with a group.

Am I supposed to watch The Game Awards on the TGA channel or the XBox channel? I'm confused here. There's two active channels and I just want the mix pot.

Also the mix pot for Steam is pretty godly. Lots of good games there, granted It's a small chance of 150 people every 15 minutes and the games are random.

Xbox confirmed on the Mixer chat for their channel that you’ll receive the mixpot for watching on their stream.

They didn’t say you couldn’t get it from watching the other stream though.

Umm all you have to do is compare two pre-selected theories of clinical practice, explain their origins, and map out a treatment plan for a current patent using each. 9 pages, 8 peer-reviewed sources minimum.

Personally I'd say 1 is the better overall experience, if only because you're powers feel stronger overall, and the changes to weapons you can hold in D2 is worse. (2 primaries and Special/Heavy basically being combined into one category.)

 
Decided to stop playing Assassin's Creed 1 and watch a Youtube Let's Play of it instead.  Wow, this game really is repetitive and the main character may be the laziest I've seen in a video game.
All he's really doing is laying down. Guy doesn't even eat anything and never even says he's hungry or thirsty. No wonder you can never interact with the bathroom. But heaven forbid someone messes with the closet and has random writing above your bed.

Xbox must be spying on my gaming because those weeks I played Call of Duty and Battlefield, a game in that series went on sale. I won't be surprised if Ass Creed shows up on Date Night in a few days.

I'll try another Creed game, but not right now. Maybe tonight's Game awards show will get me to play something new.
