I started playing Stories of Bethem: Full Moon which is an XB1 console exclusive today and got sucked in for almost 6 hours. It's basically Link to the Past except you use spells instead of a melee weapon. Highly recommended.

I'm still waiting for the Wii U to hit a decent price. Gonna play through and love those Mario games. Sadly, that's the only Nintendo franchise that interests me. Not sure if it's because I haven't played anything else, though.

 
Not sure if anyone knows the answer... but will I be able to just plug the current external drive I use on my X1 into my X1X?  Or will I need to download everything again?

Warframe is amazing. It's a free to play game that came out years ago and is still getting big updates. The devs are great, the community is great and it's actually not toxic if you ever need to matchmake with other players.

They gave out free $5 for playing it in February so I tried it for the first time and we ended up putting 150+ hours into it in the span of 2 months.

So yeah...if you've never tried Warframe...go download it, it's free.

 
I played Warframe for most of the fall last year and I loved it.  There is period in the beginning where it will seem like a grind but once you get past that it just continues to open up more and more.  There is a ton of content now and it has become really polished. Definitely F2P done right.  So much so I spent about $30 on platinum just to support the devs.  This new area looks awesome and most likely that means I will get back to it when it releases.

I'm sure you'd like something if you gave some stuff a chance. Zelda is probably the safest bet, but most of Nintendo's franchises have remained popular for 30+ years for a reason. Wii U actually has a pretty solid first party lineup, but if I was really recommending a console to introduce you to more of their games I'd have to say GameCube. A lot of fantastic games during the era.

I don't know about finding a cheap Wii U at this point. Best deal would probably be a refurbished one from Nintendo's website if they're still doing them. They stopped production on new consoles several months back and the system itself never had a price drop. Maybe if you come across one at a Goodwill or yard sale or something.

Seriously. What is up with the lack of pre-orders? It's driving me nuts. Yeah It's 4+ months away, but I rather know that I have a secure pre-order so I can take the day off work/not have to stand in line. Actually, no way I'm standing in line for a $500 system a bit risky.

There are some frame drops in the first game, mainly in the first act/area but they seem to be pretty decent ports now after the patches. The biggest outcry outside of the price on release was the lack of DLC character. With a patch they fixed that and they both now include all the characters from the 360.

If you don't mind used the prices have dropped to under $200, and Nintendo still sells refurbished units for $200. It still has quite a few exclusive titles left on the system that are worth while, but that might not be the case considering Pokken is getting a port and Platinum Games twitter has hinted at Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta titles.

If you click on any game in the OP, there is a countdown timer on each game. I'm not sure what time the UGS will be over but you should have plenty of time between the date night drop announcement and the end of the sale.

For some I'd say get the Wii U for those games but for others I'd say it looks like Nintendo is re-releasing their Wii U catalog for the Switch with Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2 coming out for the Switch.

The rumor is they wanted to avoid leaks on the final hardware so it wasn't disclosed to the government channels, so it's not passed the FCC license yet, I'd actually be happy for them if it's hard to secure one. I'm in for one.

This transition might be different With some games moving up to 4K, they are bound to have different downloads.

Yeah, I’d imagine that this will be true. Just like HDR was patched in for games on the S. Obviously the patches will be bigger for the X improvements.

Some of them look too be pretty big. I heard somewhere that Forza 7 is supposed to be ~100GB. Idk if that's true or not but it would mean that I'd need to get a bigger external haha
 
For those who play Rocket League, is there any real benefit to buying the collector's edition as opposed to grabbing it off of this sale?  Any thoughts?  Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just a quick observation that probably is already known to the clan as I always seem late to the fray, but Game Stop has some OG XBox games that will fall under the 4 for $10 deal next week. As far as the new releases blinknot4 posted, I hope the Minecraft Season 2 is better than season 1 was.

Doom and gears 4 are around 80 gigs right now. Some games will be large, some won't.

Up until now I thought the whole issue was that the 4k assets for Forza 7 were 100gb by themselves. I've been mildly watching for sales on 8tb HDDs in anticipation of getting an XBO-X... Then I saw your post and decided to double check my facts before I got snarky, lo and behold all this kerfuffle was over the total install size? Isn't that just because BR and external HDDs have let devs get complacent about compressing files, or is it market pressure from snobs who turn their noses up at compressed audio/textures?
 
I'm trying to sell my "edited" WiiU local, traded my PS4 Slim straight up through Facebook marketplace for a One S. Trying to get something on a Pro. Going to make a GS trip today to unload some stuff, should be a bit over $100 in credits.

Probably both I imagine. I think 4ks early stumbling block as far as mass adoption of content goes is the sheer size of the content itself as we move more and more into a streaming content. On the one hand we have the broadband speeds to make it possible, but we also have data caps and restrictions that make it punitive.

 
This Surge game is something else first the story makes no damn sense to me where you are discarded due to error/defective exo suit.The combat seems good and patience is key to overcoming any 1v1 but sometimes you get gang banged where another enemy rushes and lunges at you to take half off your HP while still engaging another enemy.I just lost 7k souls I mean scrap due to my first boss encounter and he destroyed me in 10 secs.Final thoughts this game is good so everyone must play this AA title :)

4 cars and a art print on the Xbox. The CE is more of a deal for PS4 users because Xbox was late to the RL party and got all the paid DLC in the base game at the time of it's original release. You probably wouldn't even play with those 4 cars if you got hooked on RL.

It definitely takes some practice. Key is going back fairly often to the medbay and either banking scrap or upgrading because you will die. Even though you can get scrap back like the souls if you get back to the same point, there’s still a lot of risk vs reward there.

The story is a littl convoluted so far (hoping that changes). Combat is what keeps me going.

Yes the combat and the severing of limbs to acquire gear is what makes this game standout and without them the game would be a bust.

I'm assuming Fable Fortune will be preview exclusive considering I heard rumblings of a delay release, unless they meant the game preview is going to be delayed as well.

Just Runbow for me this week, and Lego Pirates when they drop for free.

Only retail releases I'm look forward to are both in August before the holiday shopping begins. Naruto and Sonic Mania.

My god, it takes forever to get a digital game on release day, can you imagine when they throw on the 4K patch...

Oh and I managed to grab all the stars on Hot Wheels FH3 DLC last night, phew!

Reading this thread makes me think that maybe I should put my GS credit towards a Switch instead of getting an X1X. Then I'd have all this gen's systems and could just get an X1X next Black Friday.

Tore myself away from farming and gift-giving long enough to play a few games yesterday. Here are my thoughts:

Emily Wants to Play: Five Nights at Freddy's ripoff in some ways but there's a lot more actual gameplay. When everything works as it should, it's actually fun. Unfortunately, in the last part of the game you face all three dolls and have to find Emily over and over when she hides and you realize the game is not so great.

The dolls have to be dealt with in certain ways. One you have to stare at, another you have to hold still, another youhave to quickly go to a new room. Problem is that the random spawns fuck you over quite a bit. Three girl dolls in a row and each one takes 20 secs, no time to find Emily, you lose. Clown doll and Slappy ripoff at same time, you can't hold still and change rooms, you lose. Sometimes I changed rooms and Slappy ripoff still got me. Other times the dolls didn't laugh, which signals who they are and that they're there, so I lost. And the load times are awful for retries...like 40 secs. Really takes the wind out of your sales when you die bc of BS and have to wait 40 secs to try again.

Marvel Heroes Omega: Liked it a lot, though the game's economy really blows. Sticking with Daredevil for now though he is a bit monotonous to play and we'll see who I can afford to buy once I've leveled him through the campaign.

Superhot: Glad I listened to my CAG fam on this one. Very addictive and fun. Started playing at 1am, very bad idea. I'll probably play through some of the challenges and stuff but I definitely feel like I got my money's worth already. When you can play a game that's different than anything else and actually worth remembering, you need to do it IMO.
