Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Games become more consistent once you hit Platinum, I have found out. You get less BS goals scored against you. I'm trying to work my way up into Diamond this season in 2s with random teammates, currently Platinum 2.
That's good. Bronze and Silver (till the last Tier) has been a cake walk for us but we always get stuck at the hump just before Gold.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus is going to be 4k and X enhanced. No details outside of that yet. Add it to your list.

Waiting For The Evil Within 2 4k Scary Goodness confirmation.

I recently missed out on a great deal for a 55" ks8000 TV, so i stopped at my local Audio/video specialty store yesterday. The thirst is real now. They showed me what was in my price range but I couldn't help ask about what they have in OLED. I'm fairly familiar with the tech. They have the newest LG C7 55" for $1800 with no interest payments for 36 months. Their 5-year extended warranty is $130. It's within my budget but I've been building my credit back up the last 7 years. I only have a $500 CC and student loan I pay $65/month.

Is this a deal I should jump on? This is a store with a great reputation and they sold me my current tv by matching best buy's open box price plus best buy's coupon. And mine was a new set. I have a lot of respect for their sales reps because they are very knowledgable and willing to negotiate reasonably.

I currently have a 2-year-old 55" samsung 1080p that I am super happy with and know inside and out, but I have Gamestop (don't report me) credit set aside to fully fund an Xbox one X. is this the deal that i should take to introduce me to 4k?
If you can afford it I would go for it. OLED is a game changer, I have the 65" E model and it's beautiful. As long as you can pay within the 36 months then it's a win, same as cash! If you are getting the 1X you need 4k and HDR otherwise it's kind of a pointless purchase. Someone is going to quote me and be like "BUT WAIT THE FRAME RATE WILL BE BETTER" and that's true but the big game changer is visual quality is HDR. There isn't really a reason to buy a 1x and play at 1080p 60fps, in my opinion.

Yeah eneloops are the gold standard for batterys for me the last 8+ years or however long they been around.

Thanks for the likes on my Rocket League goal. That game is becoming the new Gears for me though as my partner and I have been flirting with Gold in ranked for weeks, only to lose x amount of games in a row to drop a bit again. Can't even begin to comprehend there's Platinum, Diamond, Champion then Grand Champion levels.
You know you've been playing too much Rocket League when you start a race in Forza Horizon 3 and hold B for boost.

That time at the top for smrnov was short-lived.  Stallion83 is back to being king of the gamerscore castle at 1,604,075. He is about 4,000 points ahead.  His divorce has been avoided for now.

You pretty much nailed my top 5... Except for Cuphead. It looked cool, but I have no friends for co-op...

I'm actually considering using my Flippageddon credit to buy a PS4 with the BF deals instead of an X1X. The games coming out for it and the games that are already out seem to make it worth it. Especially since we know that the X1X is going to drive some kind of sale on the PS4 Pro...

I'm not quite to hype levels on anything Xbox the rest of the year. On almost everything, I plan on waiting for some price drops or maybe asking for Christmas. Other stuff like Agents of Mayhem or Fortnite I'm interested in but not counting the days to release or anything.

For games I actually plan on playing for the year I'd say:
-Dragon's Dogma HD
-Halo 3 BC release (Probably going to try to organize some sort of playthrough with my friends as 3 was when we all got big into XBL)

-Xbox Prime BC.

-maybe Destiny 2 (depending on my reception to the beta)

-maybe Battlefront 2 (depending on how shitty the microtransactions are)

-Wolfenstein 2, plan on waiting for $20-30

Super Mario Odyssey is my beacon of excitement for late in the year, and maybe Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The Xbox related games I'm really hyped for are farther off.
-Cyberpunk 2077
-Resident Evil 2 REmake

-Red Dead Redemption 2

-Monster Hunter World

-Dragonball FighterZ

Top 5 games your hyped for coming to Xbox in 2017:

1. Cuphead
2. Middle-Earth Shadow of War
3. Call of Duty WW2
4. Star Wars Battlefront 2
5. Assassins Creed Origins

2018 hype:

Viscerals Star Wars game
Far Cry 5
Red Dead Redemption 2
Anthem
Skull and Bones
Ori and the Will of the Wisps
Kingdom Hearts 3??
2017

Marvel vs capcom infinite (despite it's bullshit)

Cuphead

Sonic Mania

Super Mario Odyssey

South Park the fractured but whole

2018

Dragonball FighterZ

Far Cry 5

Samurai Shodown sequel

Can't think of too much that is coming out next year, got too much stuff to play right now!

KS8000 or bust

If you’re dead set on absolutely buying a tv now, I’d recommend the LG. The KS8000 is beautiful (and I have the curved version) but OLED is the future.

That said, I don’t know how good a deal that is in the US, but the C7 goes on sale quite often in Canada, usually around the same price every time.

I have both the KS8000 in the 65" and the 55 OLED for some reason I like the KS8000 more. To each his own I guess.

Backlog, yo. I wish it were just Wolfenstein New Order and Old Blood, I still haven't got to Return to Castle wolfenstein on OG xbox and the 360 Wolfenstein remake.
And since GS wanted my Wolfenstein games WAY more than I did, who knows when I'll get to them.
Grab your popcorn gentlemen..and Sporkz. Strong accusation in the trade forum and it's not the "Price firm, no bargain, can't be bothered to reply" guy
Psshhh, if it hasn't been modded it ain't no thang.

Speaking of Backlogs, I finally got around to my copy of Hobbit & The Five Armies lol. I hate how they split up the movies, at the end of the 2nd part I was like well you just cut all the shit I wanted to watch and felt betrayed. My griefing time has passed it seemed and yeah pt 3 was great entertainment.

For me I'm really looking forward to:

2017:

Forza Motorsport 7

Crackdown 3

Cuphead

Assassin's Creed: Origins

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

Runner up - Halo Wars 2 DLC, the flood are back!

2018:

Red Dead Redemption 2

State of Decay 2

Sea of Thieves

Ori & the Will of the Wisps

Far Cry 5

Runner Up - Anthem

I see a shocking lack of Wolfenstein 2 in the above posts. Y'all mofuckas need Jesus.
I'm not hyped until it's confirmed that you end up going against the commies you fight with in the trailer.

World needs more games where you fight commies instead of the usual Nazis.

Games I'm most looking forward to in 2017:
The big must own titles from 2016 and early 2017 that haven't gone under $15 yet.
This guy gets it.

Only thing I'm really looking forward to playing the rest of the year is Forza 7. I'm also looking forward to hating myself for inevitably buying the Halo Wars 2 campaign dlc at full price because I really want to play it while being pissed it wasn't part of the season pass.

2017:

Super Mario Odyssey

Tacoma

Wolfenstein 2

Vampyr

Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds

2018:

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Yoshi

Detroit: Become Human

Ni No Kuni 2

Kingdom Hearts 3

Dragon Ball Z

Red Dead Redemption 2

Kingdom Hearts III

ANTHEM

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

Edit: Also way too early to say what to expect from second half of 2018. We are due for a new Halo, though I have a feeling it's gonna skip a year.

Funny enough I'm buying remasters more at the moment. I never got to play Dragon's Dogma or Resident Evil Revelations so I'll probably get those closer to launch since they will be cheap. Waiting for sales on the big holiday hits. Will be getting TEW2 and Crackdown 3 close to launch though since I love those games. Crackdown 3 being the big MP and co-op experience for the holidays for me since little is out. I'd grab the new Forza but Horizon will always be my jam.

Ace combat 7
Dead island 2
Anthem
Destiny 2 depending how good the beta is
Red dead redemption 2
Extinction
Super lucky tale
And cup head

Every other game will have obvious micro transactions in them and I avoid games with dubious amounts of micro transactions and dlc. I got bored with the game mechanics of assassin's Creed ever since I played ac1.

I keep hearing bad stuff about battlefront 2, about there will be ingame micro transactions for better weapons and gear and that's a instant turn off. That's why I avoid battlefield games now, those dlcs and class short cut packs make me sick. Why can't they just not have micro transactions for once in a modern game.

I have high hopes for anthem and red dead redemption 2. I love mecha like games and anthem has that vibe to it with destiny 1 initial vibe going on around it cause it's coop game. Red dead 2 will be my single player delight as I'm a loyal fan of rockstar games and Bethesda for their single player games.

Ace combat 7 looked very interesting to me and I haven't play a ac game since 5 on the ps2 so it'll be refreshing to play a flying game again. Cup head and super lucky tale is just my interest in cute or unique simple arcade like games.

use this website and compare them, the LG C7 compares incredibly well to my KS8000, might be the new video game king. That said I got my Samsung for under $1000 so that is quite a price gap. Bang for your buck wise might be better deals, but that looks like a great tv

Yes, this.

If I had a Switch, Mario Odyssey would be on my list. Otherwise, I'm happy being 1-2 years or an entire generation behind for most games.

If Destiny 2 wasn't launching during the first week of my 2nd year of grad school, I'd consider it, but a game like that is way too much of a timesink for me currently.

The $5 for 3,500 MS Rewards points is no longer showing up.  Don't know if it ended early because they "ran out" of codes, since it was supposed to last until later in the month, or if there's something up with the site since $3 is the only amount of Xbox credit available to be redeemed.

Yeah, it's been gone for at least 2 days. I guess they're combating the "running out of stock in the middle of the promotion" problem by just ending the reward prematurely. Sucks.

Well thankfully they have the $5 and $10 Windows store cards, though not on sale.

Here are my lists. I'm just going with stuff that will be on Xbox so I don't get reported:

2017:
South Park: The Fractured But Whole
Star Wars Battlefront II
Vampyr
Middle-Earth: Shadow of War
The Evil Within 2

Honorable mentions:
Assassin's Creed Origins
Wolfenstein 2
Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

Only SP and maybe SW are first-day purchases for me. I'm hoping that Vampyr turns out good, but I'll wait for reviews. Honestly, I haven't even played the latest installments of the other games here (except about 5 hours of Middle-Earth), but they looked cool from what I've seen. Probably won't get around to any of them until late 2018 lol.

2018:
Sea of Thieves
Red Dead 2
Anthem
Metro: Exodus
Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Honorable mention:
Far Cry 5

Other than the first two nothing I'm super excited about here. Need to hear more about these ones.

I think my day one purchases are going to be:
CoD:WWII
AC:Origins
Middle Earth: Shadow of War

I'll pick up a bunch of others once they start dropping in price, as always, but those are the 3 I'll grab at full price.

So I have a question.  I've not used my 14-day trial on Game Pass... can you use the purchase discount during the trial?  If Shantae and the Pirates Curse doesn't go on sale tomorrow (am I'm betting it won't) then I'm really tempted to buy it through Game Pass.  It's really the only title on there I'm interested in.

You should be able to. I haven't bought anything but every game had an option for a discount when I viewed it from the game hub.

The games I am looking forward to. Aka the games I will be buying day one.

2017

*insert Nintendo published Switch exclusive here because they never drop in price anyway*

Forza 7

Cuphead

Star Wars Battlefront 2

2018

Ni No Kuni 2

Kingdom Hearts 3

Red Dead Redemption 2

Sea of Thieves (I hope it's cross platform day one.)

Don't get me wrong. Excited for games like Shadow of War, Anthem, Ass Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, but due to backlog or waiting for reviews, going to hold out on them.
