FYI - I played FH3 (borrowed from a friend) for the first time today and I received the Regalia as a gift.

As for the game, I'm already overwhelmed with the size of the map and am actually thinking about paying full price for it. It's not just more of the same (FH2), it's better.

Did I ever say that Fortnite was amazing? Well it's fucking amazing.

One thing, don't recycle, add to the collection. Up to level 29 collection level after adding everything I don't use. The rewards you get are so so worth it. For example getting to level 26 or 28, I forgot but it gives 500 v credits. Used them on a pinatas and 1st pack got a legendary pistol and assault rifle in same pinata. Then last got a legendary survivor then my best pull yet in the same pinata, the choose which one you want choice, it was between legendary Brawler Luna hero and Legendary Trailblaster Buzz hero. 

Went Luna cause she's a Ninja hero and I'm #TeamNinjaHero, I've invested in to that it's works perfectly for my play style plus Ninja > all :booty: . Was using bae... I mean Assassin Sarah (Ninja), man what I'd do for that Legendary.

Game is so good, and it's only in the beta phase. I'm glad too cause I spam everyday in the comments section about letting us repair weapons. I had upgraded to the Super Deluxe Edition a few days ago since I could cut it half by selling the friend code for $25, I think it's worth it.

I'm having a great time with it too and just upgraded myself. I am finding it overwhelming though and not really knowing what to do with everything. Like your tip about recycling for example. I'm definitely going to have to read over some wikis to get a handle on what the hell I'm doing.

We should do a LFG for fortnite for tonight.Im taking a day off from running/pushups/dips/pull ups so I have all evening.

Edit :I agree there should be a way to repair a weapon and I found out that if you die which I accidentally did by walking off a cliff my guns on hand took a massive durability hit :(

I watched the trailer for Fortnite and it looks great - didn't hear about it until people in this thread started talking about it. What's the deal with it currently, is it free to try? What's this $25 upgrade business?

It will be FTP next year some time. For $40, you get a standard copy. You can upgrade (or buy) copies that have free copies of the game, so people here are selling those codes for $25 to offset the costs of the extra spiff in the deluxe copies...

The game is fan-fucking-tastic.

I'm in it, kind of like the new setup. I made it to day 63 last year an that was 34th place. The top two went to like day 120, which is nuts.

Just made a LFG for Fortnite for tonight. Need 3 others. I put start tine as 9:30, but that should be flexible.

Ha you stumbled into the most confounding thing about Fortnite, so it's paid early access via "Founder's packs" but it's supposed to be Free 2 Play next year.

The problem with going back to 2 after 3 is the game forces you to go to a different city to complete another championship instead of letting you clean up other category races in the city you are currently in. After 3 of these forced moves, you have to go back to the main festival to start another 3 championship road trip. That gets tiring very quick, plus the voice of the guy talking to you is very annoying. It was an improvement over the first game, but Horizon 3 is a masterpiece that is the best game on the One, for me, so Horizon 2 doesn't compare well.

The fact that people are paying to upgrade for a future ftp title should say something. The cheapest "bundle" that includes an extra code is $89.99 if you look it up in the store. However, you can upgrade your current level at any time for the appropriate price. So I paid $27 for a founders code off eBay that normally goes for $40. To upgrade the founders to the version that includes another founders code is $50. So selling that code for $25 means that when all is said and done you can get the $90 version for around $50. Again, might be crazy to pay that when it will be free next year but that damn loot is addictive and you get so much extra stuff it's not even funny.

Thanks for all the Fortnite info! It's nice to see established developers finding ways to make a project work - I don't think I've ever disliked a game made by Epic Games. $25 is a lot of money these days but it's very tempting.

 
It is so tempting to dive into Fornite.  After all this talk, plus a stream I watched, I'm really digging the concept.  It seems like a really fun time in co-op, and we already have a lot of CAGs in this thread playing together.

It's just that I'm already devoting time to Marvel Heroes Omega.  Plus I'm still in GTASC (Final 86 out of about 1740!)

Edit: Screw it, I'm in.  I see people here selling codes for $25, but it looks like they're all gone.  If anyone else has one to sell lmk

When in mission lobby, the part where it says to launch, press A on your character the select gadgets and you can add it from there. You don't have to do it every game just that once until you want to replace it or add another gadget.

Knowing how gimped that version is going to be makes it worth it for me. At least they were up front about their plan as opposed to a situation like Battleborn.

Seriously. This is what I've been thinking the last couple of days. As huge as most people's backlog is on this site I can't see how they pay for a game that is going to be free at an announced date. It's their money though so game on.

Haha, I've been following the game on FB for a while and they've had immense popularity right off the bat that's shuddered their servers. For all things considered though I believe they added more servers to accommodate the demand.

I don't have Fortnite (yet) but it's just one of those things. Sometimes you just want something, so you buy it. Of course it doesn't make logical sense. Expensive hobbies like gaming don't really make financial sense, anyway.

I disagree about gaming not making financial sense. For me it's probably the biggest bang for the buck activity I participate in.

Anyway back OT got my Regalia in FH3, just shows up as Gift. Took a sweet screen of it with fireworks in the background, seems FF-ish haha.

I'm not knocking gaming at all. I love gaming as a hobby, obv.

​What I'm saying is that although we all like to take advantage of sales to some extent, you don't pick up a hobby looking to not spend money. Of course it would make more financial sense to play through your entire backlog before buying any new games. It would also make more financial sense to play one game for the rest of your life than buy any new ones.

​But that would be crazy, because with hobbies, your main objective is to have fun doing something you enjoy, not necessarily save money. Hence I understand why people might want to buy Fortnite instead of waiting for it to go F2P. Is that better? :cool:

 
I buy many games day one that I shouldn’t but still don’t think I can justify paying for Fortnite. I want to play it but it just doesn’t feel right paying up front.

That said, if it gets down to ~$10 for a code before the F2P launch, I may suck it up.

So friend gave me $20 for his gshare half of Fortnite so I decided to upgrade from Super Deluxe and got the Limited Edition. That also comes with a gift code, so if anybody wants it for $25 let me know.
