Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
[*]Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

So I owned the disk version of Tell Tale Guardians of the Galaxy but traded it in awhile back but kept it on my hard drive.  I noticed episode 3 downloaded but it obviously won't let me play without the disk.  Anyone know if I buy the 1st episode for $4.99 will it allow me to play episode 3?

Crowded week. I'm Day 1 for Naruto UNS Legacy edition. Gonna try and wait for a discount on Madden. Anything for you guys? (I cannot remember what the individual Naruto games are going to cost. Just get the Legacy edition!)
I'm in for Naruto UNS. Did a preorder on that.

So I canceled my Amazon order for the X and instead bought $500ish worth of gift cards on Amazon. They were 10% off.

Sweated bullets waiting for pending verification to pass.

Pre-ordered the X at microsoft.com and used my account credit.

Got it 10% off that way. Phew.
you inspired me to do basically the same on newegg (10% off cards, and $25 off through masterpass)

this is all your fault...

has anyone successfully used xbox credit (already redeemed on your account) at a physical MS store? or is it best to order on MSstore.com? i'm trying to find a way to have the console in hands on launch day by preordering. thanks.

MS credit won't work in a store, they only accept the physical gift cards.

AC:Origins trailer was very good, and my interest level went from ambivalence to hype as soon as Romans showed up (I was somehow under the impression the setting was earlier)

However AC:O and Shadow of War together might be too much open world stabbing... decisions decisions...

(most likely I'll wait for a digital sale on SoW, and Wolfenstein 2!!, to get PlayAnywhere)
Hearing there are micro-transactions / loot boxes in SoW has soured me a bit on the game. Probably was a day one purchase for me. Probably wait for it to drop in price a bit now.

What are the micro-transactions in SoW? If they are optional and don't unbalance multiplayer then I don't mind them. Don't believe SoW has multiplayer and I doubt they would force you to buy anything with real money to advance the game.

Almost every big game has them now and they aren't a big deal. The most common type of games where they suck are ones where they halt all progress unless you wait an extremely long amount of time. I think one I played had me wait 2 weeks to advance or pay real money. F those micro-transactions. New Jurassic Park game better not be like this.

You should probably read up on the SoW micro transaction issue. From your comment it's clear you don't know the extent of it.

I don't see the big deal. They seem to be in the game to help players that are struggling or don't want to invest time in the game, like those only playing for gamerscore.

Shadow of War players will have the option to purchase Loot Chests containing random items, War Chests with random followers, and XP boosts, developers Monolith Productions explained in Friday’s announcement. These will be sold for ‘Mirian’, the regular imaginary in-game currency earned by playing, as well as for ‘Gold’, a microtransaction currency which is awarded “in small amounts” at certain milestones through the game but can also be bought with real cash money.

all of these orcs and items can be earned by playing and without spending an extra penny

Not a big problem to me either honestly. I do see how people are afraid that the game might have been tuned in a way that would steer you toward spending money to help yourself.

A couple of oddities from Major Nelson's official list of 100+ X 4K supported games...
- No Prey. Every other Bethesda game is listed (Dishonored, Fallout, Skyrim, ESO, Wolfenstein).
- No CoD WWII either. Might have to get this for Pro instead.

Using some of that GS creditmageddon for he Sunset Overdrive season pass. Reviews speak highly of the DLC, mostly critique it for being short at MSRP but for $6 I'm in.

Tempted to get the FH3 Blizzard/Hotwheels combo at $17. I don't have FH3 yet, but I will get it eventually. Should I wait for it to go on sale again or should I get it now in case it doesn't drop again?

I just wonder if they drag things out so either you pay to level up or you have to grind things out. Just not a big fan of where it seems to be going.

The only time I have ever paid to advance in a game was Assassins Creed Rogue. I was near the end and wanted to trade the game. I had played BF maybe a few months before that and was getting bored of the ship battles finally. I needed some resources to level up my ship to beat the end game (or maybe a mission before that). It was cheap enough and didn't want to miss out on the TIV and wanted to be done honestly. I think I paid like $8 for the game itself. Drop $2 to save 30 to 60 mins sinking ships trying to grind out the resources seemed worth it. If I had more time between BF and Rogue I doubt I would have been bored with ship battles and wouldn't have done that.

Otherwise I rather just play the game and level up as it comes. If they are going to drag it out so I am tempted to buy my way through the game I rather just play something else. Or wait till this is cheap enough I don't feel bad spending a few bucks to fast forward through grinding. I don't care about cosmetic stuff so games that sell skins and shaders and crap like that don't bother me.

Guess we will see how it works out in practice but I don't think I am going to support this game on day one. I was really hyped for it now I am just wait and see.

Most of the games I have played recently do not or if they did I didn't even notice them. I am not a big sports game fan where paying to advance your career mode seems to be big. Gears of War 4 and FH3 both have them I guess. Not sure what else I played recently does though. Rise of Tomb raider I believe does as well. Never bothered with any of them past what you get for buying Gears of War 4 Ultimate.

I'm shocked that Bethesda isn't releasing Skyrim 4K Version for another $60.

It is rather pay to win. The multiplayer ladder has permanent follower death and you can buy powered up followers in loot boxes. It's not even close to just cosmetic and is the type of trash that shouldn't exist. That being said, in at $30.

I'm gonna wait as well. On one hand I don't really care because I'm not a completionist. If I get stuck in a game I'll move on. I play games for fun no sense in beating my head against a wall. On the other hand Warner Bros keeps moving in the worst fucking direction with this so I'm not down with supporting them. I'll wait till the obligatory complete edition I have a huge backlog as it is.

I'm glad that the Xbox One X seems to be selling so well. That being said, I'm still waiting. I don't even have a 4K television yet (possibly on Black Friday) and I just got my One S this year. There is no real reason for my to drop $500 on it at this time. Plus, as someone said earlier, I'm kind of attached to this One S. I would rather wait for a price drop for the X so I wouldn't be tempted to trade in the S and instead just use it in an alternate room.

Doom disappeared, though. They originally had that on the first list.

Major Nelson himself isn't even up to his own game. DOOM was announced at E3.

The Evil Within 2 still has the XBox X 4k/HDR info on it's own website http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/evil-within-2

Also heres your Tomb Raider enhancements trailer

Same situation. The thing that's holding me up is that Black Friday is only three months away. Then again, I don't recall many Horizon bundles/DLC being part of past BFs.

Just get it and the game. It is the best game I've played in a long time and I hate driving games.

I have successfully overcome the urge for the X1X. Maybe next year, if I splurge on a 4K TV before then. I'm gonna keep my eye on the old Minecradt S bundles at Target, though. If they clear those out, I may grab one cheap to upgrade my VCR X1.

Thanks for the info. Mistakenly forgot about Doom and Evil Within 2. Nice to see those both get the X enhancements too.

I'm sure Major's list will be updated often.

paid off a 2nd Scorpio this morning with trade credit. So both done without coming out of pocket. Now off to Best Buy to preorder games for the $10 certs

Fear effect was a cool looking game back then but boy was it brutal. You had to manage your ammo or you would not get far.It wasn't like RE games where you could take out zombies on site and move on on fear effect you always had to evade/dodge the monsters and move on.Will be exciting playing this oldie and hopefully now I will beat it.

Did they mention this on the stream yesterday? Perhaps I missed it when I was sleepwalking out of the room.
