Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
[*]Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

So Bethesda already went against their own policy with Creation Club.

"Also, we won’t allow any existing mods to be retrofitted into Creation Club, it must all be original content."

Someone instantly recognized a couple items so researched everything.
Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/6wqpsp/creation_club_content_that_is_already_available/

Out of the 11 mods available for purchase, NINE already existed on Nexus, which is the unofficial but most popular site for PC modding. I think this could be chalked up to a few possibilities.

1. There is a huge loophole where they only meant a mod couldn't "exist" on the official Bethesda mod platform. Though this theory doesn't really hold water since at least one is already on Xbox. https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/3400818

2. Bethesda is completely incompetent and didn't check if they already existed.
3. Bethesda lied, and don't give a shit if mods already existed as long as they are able to vet the mod not containing stolen assets, like some of the old Skyrim Paid Mods had.

Here's a video showing off everything in game. Personally I think pretty much all of these are overpriced regardless of origin, with the only things available for the free $1 they give you being paint jobs. The most expensive thing is a single power armor for $5, when the $10 official DLC added a small new area, robot building, new enemy attacks, and a few quests. It doesn't really make sense to me that the Horse Armor is half the price of the Hellfire one, while still having a unique model and actually having some in-game lore added. I think it and maybe the Prey suit are internally made by Bethesda, so maybe that's why. I will not be supporting anything from this program.

Recore DE on Xbox store shows install on console, when you go to it will say install next to buy. It will most likely be revoked but you can at least play as much of it as you can until it is. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1425040

It should be the full game as their is another option for free trial. Also I don't have game pass or have it digital already to get free DE upgrade. It just shows install and it's downloading 7.61gb
Installing now from the dashboard. I've owned ReCore before but traded it in after playing about 30 minutes. Seems you can also install R6:Siege in a similar fashion. No clue on if they will work, are just trials, or if the licences will get pulled if they are in fact full games. Doesn't hurt to try though.

Walking Dead games? SRSLY MSFT. Great games, but not sure we needed them. Aren't they on every platform ever on planet Earth. Pretty sure my Nest thermostat has those pre-installed.

They've said when CoD Ghosts came the intention is making upgrading to One more appealing, that you won't have to rebuy the games you already own.

I tried to buy last night(15.99 with gamepass)and this happened. It actually won't let you buy it. The full game downloads and you can play. Contacted CS this morning and they told me I did not own the license. They even tried to buy it on my account using XBL credit and couldn't. Told me I had a billing issue and to correct on my side. When I asked why since I was using XBL credit, the conversation terminated lol

Walking Dead? Worst BC announcement ever. And that includes the time they said there weren't going to be any games for a while.

Does anyone use the Turtle Beach XO Four Stealth headset? Looks like it's on clearance at Target with a 20% off cartwheel coupon that would bring it down to $40. I was considering using GS credit to get the upcoming Stealth 600 (MSRP $100), but this is a good deal...
Thanks for the mention. Got the Stealth420x+ for $60 today.

Does anyone know the amount of data that UHD streaming uses on the movies and tv app?
I really want to get wonder woman, but im not sure how much that will eat at my 1TB data cap. If it is crazy, I will just wait and but it on disc.

The upper right of the screen shows your currencies (?). I know what CR is. What is that other currency, with the orange/red symbol and saying 131/177?
The 131/177 isn't currency but medals in the Hot Wheels DLC (you can see some Hot Wheels ramps in the background). Instead of using fans to advance like the base game, you earn medals to progress in Blizzard Mountain and Hot Wheels. Races have 3 medals - 1 for completing it, a 2nd for winning it and a 3rd for winning plus an additional challenge (performing X skills, banking Y skill points, beat a time, etc.). Bucket Lists and PR stunts give 1, 2 or 3 depending on their difficulty.

That Bethesda: Game of Thrones listing was proven to be fake. Apparently the Target website is easy to manipulate the listings. As as an example: Toilet Duck: Game of Thrones
I know this toilet duck.

I think this may have been discussed before but does the FM 6 VIP pass help with achievements at all? I know that it's not required for them but wondering if any of the achievements would be faster with the "additional race earnings" or cars that are included? If so, are the benefits worth the $5 it costs this week? If not I'll probably pass.

14 gig Overwatch update. It brings the PC report system, the new Deatchmatch modes and maps, and changes to Junkrat, Orisa, Roadhog, and Widowmaker. The Mercy and D.Va changes aren't here yet, and will likely be here alongside the Junker Town map release.

Patch notes:
New Game Modes: Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch

Two new game modes have been added to the Arcade: Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch!

In Deathmatch, eight players go head-to-head until one player scores 20 points. Players will earn 1 point whenever they land the final blow on an opponent and will lose 1 point whenever they die to environmental damage (ex: falling off a cliff) or self-inflicted damage. This scoring will be tracked in a brand-new scoreboard. The first player to 20 points wins!

In Team Deathmatch, two teams of four players face off until one team scores 30 points. Players will earn 1 point for their team whenever they land the final blow on an opponent and will lose 1 point for their team whenever they die to environmental damage (ex: falling off a cliff) or self-inflicted damage. If players are resurrected before they respawn, the corresponding point for their death will be deducted from the enemy team’s score. This scoring will be tracked in our default scoreboard. The first team to 30 points wins!

Both modes will play out on a selection of maps from our existing pool:

Hanamura
Horizon Lunar Colony
Temple of Anubis
Volskaya Industries
Dorado
Eichenwalde
Hollywood
King’s Row
(TDM only) Black Forest
(TDM only) Castillo
(TDM only) Ecopoint: Antarctica
(TDM only) Necropolis
We’ve made several modifications to many of these maps (including restricting play to a specific area and developing a special respawn system) when playing in these modes. We’re also introducing a brand-new map specifically for Deathmatch: Château Guillard! Learn more about this map below.

Both modes will be available for play in Custom Games. Watch our developer update for additional insight: https://youtu.be/4_CBzklel1c

New Deathmatch Map: Château Guillard

Château Guillard is located near Annecy in southeastern France. For hundreds of years, it was the estate of the influential Guillard family, until it gradually fell into disrepair after the family's power waned in the decades after the Revolution. Recently, the château has found a new owner: the Talon agent Widowmaker, who has returned to her family's ancestral home.

General
General

A number of data format changes have been implemented
Developer Comments: Over the past few months, we’ve been working on a number of significant under-the-hood changes that will help us streamline the patching process. This will allow us to reduce the download size in future patches, but it does mean that today’s patch is larger than a traditional patch.

Match-wide voice chat has been added for Deathmatch and Custom Games
An “Aim Ease in” option has been added under the “Advanced” tab in the “Controller” menu. This allows players to customize their turn rate acceleration. If you’d like to know more, check out the developer explain over on the forums.
Hero Updates
Junkrat

Concussion Mine
Junkrat can now hold two mines
RIP-Tire
Tire’s movement speed has been increased by 30%
There is no longer a time limit when wall climbing
Developer Comments: Giving the Junkrat the ability to store two concussion mines adds some much-needed flexibility and versatility to his kit, particularly when using the mines for mobility. RIP-Tire’s damage has always been very good, but it was often difficult to steer the tire into position before it was destroyed. Increasing its speed will allow players to effectively detonate the tire more often and decrease the amount of time that Junkrat is vulnerable while controlling it.
Orisa

Fusion Driver
Projectile speed increased by 20%
Protective Barrier
Barrier size increase by 20%
Barrier shape has been changed to allow for more coverage from enemies that are below the barrier
Developer Comments: The projectile speed increase helps Orisa’s consistency, especially at medium ranges (or further). Her barrier size has been increased to better protect her team, and the new shape makes the shield more effective when it’s used on slopes or on top of objects (such as a payload).
Roadhog

Take a Breather
Can now be used while moving
Damage taken while healing has been reduced by 50%
Developer Comments: These changes help Roadhog be much more aggressive when looking for hook targets or blocking for his team. The combination of these effects significantly increases Roadhog’s sustainability and survivability.
Widowmaker

Grappling Hook
Cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 8
Venom Mine
Affected targets are now visible through walls (to you as Widowmaker only)
Developer Comments: Widowmaker is extremely powerful in the right hands, but her abilities often felt a little weak. The Grappling Hook cooldown reduction means she is more likely to have it available when she needs to escape. Venom Mine is intended to be an early warning system, uncovering enemies that are attempting to flank her or her team. With this change, she can see enemies when they trigger the mine, even if they’re on the other side of a wall.
Competitive Play
General

The length of Competitive Play seasons has been reduced to 2 months (formerly 3)
The winner on Control maps will now be decided based on a best-2-out-of-3 series (formerly 3-out-of-5)
Due to the shortened season length, fewer Competitive Points will be rewarded at the end of each season
More Competitive Points will be rewarded for wins or ties in Competitive Play
15 Competitive Points for a win (formerly 10)
5 Competitive Points for a tie (formerly 3)
Periodic Skill Rating decay has been reduced
Previously inactive players (in Diamond tier or above) lost 50 Skill Rating per day. This has been reduced to 25 Skill Rating per day
Playing a match now increases the time till decay by 36 hours (up from 24 hours). The maximum number of days remains set at 7
Players who place in Diamond or below can now lose their place in that tier if their Skill Rating drops below the minimum requirement. However, they’ll still earn their end-of-season rewards for their highest skill tier placed
Player Skill Ratings will no longer be temporarily lowered at the beginning of a season (after placement matches)
Changes in Skill Rating that occur after each competitive match have been adjusted to address some anomalies, especially with certain heroes
Developer Comments: Learn more about Skill Rating and Skill Tier updates in our forum post here.

Gameplay

Defensive spawn times will now slowly increase earlier in the battle when the attacking team has more players on the objective
User Interface
General

Added an “Outline Opacity” option under the custom reticle settings (found under Controls > Options > Advanced), which allows players to control the opacity of the black outline surrounding the reticule

Fixed a bug causing D. Va’s Light Gun to utilize the wrong texture while outside of her mech when the Junker skin was equipped

Fixed a bug that allowed players to see past the map’s background on Black Forest
Fixed a bug that allowed players to reach unintended locations on Black Forest
Fixed a bug that caused the announcer to say “Travelling to Dorado” when joining Castillo
Fixed a bug that prevented some equipment (vents, pipes, etc.) from properly connecting to the walls of the power plant on Dorado
Fixed a bug that allowed players to reach unintended locations on Hanamura
Fixed a bug that caused some projectiles to go through the ground on the last point of Horizon Lunar Colony
Fixed an issue that caused sprays to display incorrectly on the crane on the Horizon Lunar Colony
Fixed a bug that caused pink lighting to appear in some areas of Ilios
Fixed a bug that could cause A.I. heroes to get themselves stuck while traveling to the Well Capture Point on Ilios
Fixed a bug that allowed players to reach unintended locations on Ilios
Fixed an issue that caused the lighting to appear dark in Genji’s room on Nepal
Fixed a bug that allowed players to reach unintended locations on Oasis
Fixed a bug that prevented Pharah’s Jump Jet from recharging while perched on door frames in Oasis
Fixed a bug that prevented door frames from being visible and lacking collision on the Practice Range
Fixed a bug that caused some players to get stuck behind a plant near the second point on Route 66
Fixed a bug that allowed Doomfist to reach unintended locations on Volskaya Industries
User Interface

Fixed a bug in the Options > Controls menu that prevented the asterisk (which normally indicates that changes have been made) from being removed from the hero’s dropdown after controls have been set to default
Fixed a bug causing the Back button to disappear when scrolling through the list of available games in the Game Browser

They've said when CoD Ghosts came the intention is making upgrading to One more appealing, that you won't have to rebuy the games you already own.
Right. I think people are more disappointed in the fact that they didn't add other games. Hell, even one game not on X1 Tuesday would have made a better announcement.

Either way we still have Thursday. Considering they had a week off there should be more games on Thursday.

It seems to be just the latest Game Pass offering.

Edit: I was playing it earlier but now it is asking me if I own the game or app
Likely they realized their goof. Existing owners do get a free upgrade it seems.

New players get the entire package as either part of Xbox Game Pass or for $19.99 from the Microsoft Store or your favorite retailer, while owners of the existing ReCore game will receive the “Eye of Obsidian” adventure, the T8-NK Corebot, and all the other enhancements, for free, as an online update.
Game Pass has a free 14-days trial if you have done it yet.
I stocked up on a few free 1-month codes that I got from the T-Mobile Tuesday deal awhile back.

Between rewards credits though Forza Hub and how much money the game throws at you with level up rewards and Mod cards (ex +4000 credits for each perfect turn), money is no object in the game. The VIP gets you in some special community events, but I'd save the $5.

I have had the game since December 2016 or so. And other then this weekend past I don't think they did any VIP events. And even this one was doable with out VIP if you can find a VIP to co-op with. Took like 5 mins the other day.

Doesn't seem like MS is really doing much for those who are VIP. I seem to remember a bit more support in Gears Judgement for VIP. Almost weekly events IRC.

I have over 11 million in cash and never really felt strapped for cash but maybe a few times when I first started playing.

Tried again and it still won't let me purchase. Keeps saying I own the game (nothing has been charged to me). Guess I'll see when the 14 day gamepass trial ends

That 2.5mm --> 3.5mm cable also comes with the Official Headset Adapter, which I highly recommend if you aren't going all out on a chat pad.

This is true. But don't buy those from gamestop. $30 new and 26.19 with PUR PRO.... meanwhile it's $22.42 new at amazon(Prime eligible). and $24.99 new at Microsoft.com with free shipping!(good deal if you have credit)

Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-Stereo-Headset-Adapter/dp/B00IAVDOS6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1504042426&sr=8-3&keywords=xbox+stereo+headset+adapter

Don't buy the adapters listed above, the mic won't work with them. Either buy the headset adapter that comes with the cable or buy this cable on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018ZTNEQE

^that's the one I've used for years with the same headset you have.

Wait I believe I made a mistake when I said it came with a 2.5mm cable that's not true. The cable that's attached to the headset the end is 2.5mm and inserts to the 360 controller. So I would need a 3.5 mm (that I insert to my controller)to 2.5mm since the x12s are 2.5mm?

Edit:those are the ones I'm looking for Kcobra thanks and everyone else who replied.

Does anyone know the amount of data that UHD streaming uses on the movies and tv app?
I really want to get wonder woman, but im not sure how much that will eat at my 1TB data cap. If it is crazy, I will just wait and but it on disc.
Video always cuts deep in my data - when that was a big deal with my mobile data anytime I'd watch a few videos on Youtube I'd get a notification that I'm using too much data, bs - but I could only imagine UHD lol, shit. Here's an excerpt from a listing I got by copy and pasting your question into Google:

Streaming in 1080p on Netflix takes up 4.7GB/hour. So a regular one-hour episode of something debiting less than 5GB from your allotment is no big deal. However, with 4K, you've got quadruple the pixel count, so you're burning through 18.8GB/hour. Even if you're streaming with the new h.265 codec—which cuts the bit rate by about half, but still hasn't found its way into many consumer products—you're still looking at 7GB/hour.

Granted this article was written in 2014!

Well the VIP basically boils down to the cars that are in the entire package and if you want to have a full garage or are a big car enthusiast you'll probably bite at $5 if you haven't already.

Cars:
  • 2012 Aston Martin V12 Zagato.
  • 2013 Ferrari 458 Speciale.
  • 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R.
  • 2013 Lamborghini Veneno.
  • 1997 McLaren F1 GT.

Netflix advertises that its 4K streaming can use up to 7 GB per hour. I don't know how much it would differ between streaming services. I also have the 1TB cap through Comcast and stream 4K quite often and haven't noticed it raising my data usage in a crazy amount. The biggest culprits for me are still downloading games and updates.

Horizon 3 did less for VIPs than Motorsport 6. I haven't played FM6 online in a while, but I believe there are/were VIP only lobbies for multiplayer.

Don't forget that some UHD streams like Vudu offer a higher quality surround sound (Dolby Atmos). If you think the jump from 1080p to 4K is high, wait til you see the jump from Dolby Digital to Dolby Atmos...

Hoping my card comes in while Baby Driver is still in theaters here. Saw The Dark Tower when AMC allowed e tickets but they killed that with the quickness

Thanks for the amswers everyone. Im gonna give it a whirl and see how it goes.
I own quite a few 4k blurays, but havent tried streaming anything yet. I know my speed is more than capable, but every couple of months we get close to the 1TB. Damn 503 titles on my xbox can eat that quick when there are a lot of updates.

Pillars of Eternity is awesome. They did a great job porting the controls from PC. I haven’t played a CRPG in a long, long time and can sometimes feel overwhelmed but this seems to be more modern and somewhat newbie friendly. Solid writing and graphics as well.

Probably spend quite a bit of time with this (words often spoken and then a new toy comes along and it moves into the backlog :) ).

Sooooo reading the Fortnite post on my FB like...

The Survive the Storm update is now LIVE! Squad up and push back hordes of husks in the new Survive the Storm gamemode. See you in game!

Edit: On a side note. Xbox Live Indie to shut down on 360 next month sometime. Might wanna buy some games before they get taken down. Some of them aren't even on steam it seems.

https://www.reddit.com/r/xbox360/comments/6w4sqj/with_less_than_a_week_left_until_xbl_indie_games/
Wish they were BC. Some fun little games there. My fav was I Made a Game with Zombies In It (or whatever weird spelling it was).

Oh and all radiangames (which also are sadly gone from iOS as well).
