Despite my enjoyment of the shooting, I'm passing this time because of the heavy grind required. I just don't have the time or patience for a super grindy game in my life these days.

Yeah I sunk 100s of hours into the daily, weekly and nightfall. I didn't care for the original Raid. Never understood WTF I was doing and hated the platforming section. I played the first DLC and bought The Taken King one but never played it. The guy I used to play with almost every morning and I got to a point where we just didn't want to do this anymore. He ended up going back after like a year and is down for Destiny 2. I rather play other games I think at this point. I used to play almost nothing but COD for like 6-9 months after each release and little else. Don't really want to sink that kind of time in to a single game (ok maybe Borderlands 3 if they don't fuck that up).

I played a bit of the COD WWII beta. Wasn't much fun for me. I just don't have the devotion to play it for hundreds of hours so I can be decent enough to have fun with it. That and maybe my days of being decent at competitive online shooters is over. I did ok for a while in TF2 and Destiny's Crucible.

Anyway we will see but so far I am not really interested in either.

Regarding the Xbox Live Indie Game Service shutting down, I need some more help. I've spent some time searching on Google trying to find some explanation which games are going away. After reading various articles such as the ones below, it's not totally clear to me.

One article said people could download their Indie games after the shutdown, but your comments sound like you can't play them any more due to DRM. Anyone know which is right?

Bottomline is I'm trying to find out if I have to hurry and download any X360 XBL games I bought before next Saturday, if doing so is a moot point, or if most of my games are unaffected. Is there an easy way to find out which of my purchased games are Indie games in danger without checking each game on XBL?

My best guess is I'm looking for games which say "Indie" on the game's icon, such as RadianGames Ballistic or Pingvinas, that will be deleted, but games like Castle Crashers and Mirror's Edge are safe (for now)?

I searched this topic and this web site on Google and could not find the "couple places" where it was mentioned before. I'd love to read a deeper discussion of this topic if I could find it. Thanks.

Does anyone here happen to have any experience in using Amazon trade in? I'm just curious because that's where I tend to do the bulk of my game/game accessories shopping and I have some stuff I wouldn't mind giving up for some gift card credit.

I had traded some games and Vita memory cards there in the past. I personally had good experiences. On the Vita cards (I had two 8GB cards) I graded them higher then I should have (they should have been good vs excellent I didn't have the original boxes). They gave me the excellent TIV though (wasn't a huge difference but was enough I probably wouldn't have bothered to trade them).

I remember shipwreck (of the Podcast here) traded a Vita or some console and they screwed pretty good on the condition. I remember others complaining of the same. This was a couple years ago though.

The last few I did had the option for instant pay. Before that I think it was around a week but again this was a couple years ago.

Thanks for all the replies about Amazon trade ins. I may go ahead and try it. Worst case scenario they send my stuff back and I keep it or they'll give me less money than I expect. Best case scenario I clear up some shelf space and make some money out of games I don't play anymore.

 
Just a heads up on Disney Afternoon Collection: There is a bug that that causes massive slowdown. It's seemingly random and I have no idea what causes it, but it's happened enough that I stopped playing it until it's fixed.

Also, Tale Spin sucks, really bad.

Sometimes Game Stop does cash for trades. I think that just ended the other day though. Maybe another option for you in the future.

 
May finally get Alien Isolation. I started it on PS3 and liked it a lot, although I don't know if I have the patience for its long-ass SP campaign.

Disney for $10 is tempting, but at 50% off already, I bet it goes $6-8 by the end of the year.

There is some good stuff on sell but noting making me pull the trigger.

The Disney afternoon collection is tempting. I already have DuckTales and take spin sucks so that just leaves chip and Dale and darkwing duck for 10.00. Just can't see me playing it for long. The kids would get board quick. I also just bought them all the goat simulator stuff that was on sale.

As was already stated, use the option to get the credit or send your items back. If you get the credit first and they don't agree with your condition they will not take your credit but charge your credit card.

Also, remove any stickers on games yourself. They charged me for an old blockbuster on a ganecybe game that I was able to easily remove when they shipped it back.

Lastly, it could take up to a couple weeks for them to receive your stuff and give yoy credit. All depends on work load for them, I suppose.

Nothing for me except maybe Disney Aftern.....who am I kidding?  I'm not playing anything other than Destiny 2 for months. 

anyway, not a bad date night actually.  Good on ya, Microsoft (& Bloomy by his sorcery and association)!

 
Shiness is a fun beat em up RPG. Bought it at launch and while it still sits in my backlog, the first few hours I played were enjoyable. Nice animation and combat can get challenging. Fights are different in that you battle enemies one on one arena style. Reminds me to get back to it one of these days.

As a child of the 80s, I’m sad to say that I never played any of the Disney Afternoon Collection. Worth getting as a noob? Or is it mostly for nostalgia that people are getting it?

Great deals, especially streets of rage collection. Toejam and earl is still full though. It's the only SVC release that refuses to go on sale or game pass, or whatever. I'm giving it until the end of the year for it to go on sale, if not I'll just pay full price.

Probably not much? Do you get all the Golden Axe and SOR games via BC when u put in the genesis collection disc? If you do then just digital convenience .

Gonna beat the games with a younger friend over Live though. I think That's worth a few bucks.

 
All that talk about Crazy Taxi recently, for $2.50 I wouldn't mind revisiting it and earning some achievements.

I have Streets of Rage 2 and the Genesis collection.

$2.50 isnt that bad plus the extra achievements (lol...) you can earn for actually playing the games rather than the 1 or so in the Genesis Collection

So do some games still install from the Sonic Genesis Collection? I didn’t even know it did but just searched and sounded like they patched it to not install anymore.

Honestly wish that whole disc would go BC. Probably one of the best retro collections ever made IMO.

It's been years since I traded to Amazon, back before the condition was implemented. I had no issues, but I removed stickers just in case someone got pissed I was flipping stuff. I saved a lot of time by just swapping cases with clean ones I had laying around.

Then when I'd take games to Best Buy, I'd swap and give them sticker-ed cases. At my store, they didn't care. They had a lot of games with the yellow Gamestop sticker around the base. Was told as long as the game was in there and looked playable they didn't care.

Are you talking about the Genesis Collection or Sonic's UGC? The latter has all the SoR and Golden Axe games. Sega also started releasing Genesis games for free on mobile devices - Golden Axe was just added - and multiplayer feature is in the works. So even though $2.50 is cheap, you can get them free soon.
 
I picked up one of those Winter Forces controllers on clearance at Target. Man, that is a damn nice looking controller. I love that it doesn't have the black top bezel. It's just all design. Beautiful.
 
So after trying to buy Mordheim City of the Damned on mobile and Xbox app I get a "sorry we are having trouble with processing payment please contact Microsoft support" I am paying with gift cards and has anyone ever had this issue?
 
That was going to be a deal breaker for me, BUT I found out you can play your own custom soundtrack, as you can with other Xbox 360 games. Add the Crazy Taxi music to your 360 and choose that as your custom soundtrack, and blammo, problem solved.

There was only the Sonic Genesis collection on Xbox 360

SoR and Golden Axe are BC where the Sonic Genesis collection is not.

the vintage collection also has the arcade version of Golden Axe 1.

 
In for Crazy Taxi and SFxT.  Still buying pretty much any retail release that gets to $4 or lower on 360.

For those that got their Movie Pass card already, what was the return address on the envelope?

No, the PSP collection of the first two games has great soundtrack support so you can have a full soundtrack of Offspring and Bad Religion music in it to go with the best controls of the recent versions of the game. The XBLA/PSN remasters just don't control right for whatever reason.

Mordheim is a great turn based combat game -It can be frustrating at first, but stick with it until you get a warband to level 5. There is a veteran system that lets you buy perks as you level up. I think I paid $20 for it, $10 is a steal.
 
Just found out EB Games (Australia) has a trade deal for trade 500 GB Xbox One console and 1 game ( I assume controller also) for 500 GB Xbox One S with Forza Horizon 3 Download code and Destiny 2 for $149.

Really thinking about doing this.
