Cuphead is the #1 seller on steam, with estimates at 125,000 sold on steam alone in 3 days. Add in GOG, Win10, and of course XBOX, the gamble paid off. (In an ideal world, one wouldn't have to remortgage homes to make awesome video games, though) The devs also own the IP, so they can do a lot more with it going forward.

Have the game myself, and just glad it has easy mode (which actually has less phases for each boss, so more motivation to go back for challenges.... later)

The North Koreans can get you there for a fraction of the cost, but there's a high chance you just end up in the Sea of Japan. But on this site, I imagine it's a gamble many would take.

Most "walking simulators" are just about the story and maybe some light puzzle solving. Knowing this, it makes no sense to me that people would complain about it. In any case, I really liked Gone Home. I certainly wouldn't have paid $15 for it, but none of us did, did we?

Apparently being an Xbox Live Gold Member for 8 straight years and having a gamerscore over 100,000 isn't worth anything on the VIP side...also spending probably thousands of bucks on digital content over the last 8 years...

 
'Gone Home' left me confused as to the story ending.  Missing a few journal entires and a couple of blog posts cleared it up for me- a bit.

I think I found 'OXENFREE' to be more enjoyable.  But both were free so :shrugs:

Yeah, if you miss some of the entries then the ending can take a rather dark twist due to the lack of context. I "played" it yesterday and it took me several tries to get the "Homerunner" achievement though I'm pretty sure I got it done in less than a minute more than once. Only achievement I didn't get was "Speedreader" (getting all journal entries in less than 10 minutes without modifiers) and not sure if I'll give it another go.

 
I also finished Oxenfree before going to sleep last night. Much better game and I found the story and characters interesting for the most part.

Also very short clocking in around 3ish hours for me.

That moment when you actually beat two games in a week :eek:

As you all know by now, my community of Las Vegas was attacked last night. I was heart broken when the story broke and still am. It's been a very early morning of calling and texting and finding out if my friends are safe. My buddies wife was supposed to go to the concert but changed her plans last min but her friends still went but all were safe.

I'm impressed at the response, my wife and I wanted to donate blood but the blood banks are so overwhelmed with people donating they are turning people away. People have been coming together to do what they can to help, offering rides, food, and water.

Some of you may mock those that are religious and pray, but as a religious person myself, I appreciate all the thoughts and prayers for our community.

I hope any other Vegas CAGs are safe and if any of you Vegas CAGs need anything, please PM me.

Glad you and your friends are safe. I certainly will keep the Las Vegas community in my thoughts and prayers after this horrific event.

I really hope your friends are okay, and I'm glad to hear how the community there is responding.

To be clear about religion, it's not about mocking people who are religious or find prayer helpful, it's criticizing the response of politicians who constantly offer 'thoughts and prayers' but are unwilling to offer any kind of solution or even begin to think about how to prevent things like this from happening. My clients through the human services field I work in are LGBT folks and survivors of domestic violence. If all I did was pray for people who came to my agency for help instead of exploring ways to prevent violence, my own community wouldn't be any safer. So when people in public office post about prayers on Twitter but aren't interested in calling this terrorism, talking about gun violence, or access to mental health care, I have no patience for it. It's not a knock against religious folks, it's about politicians using religion as means of inaction.

Groove will shut down 12/31. MS is partnering with Spotify now. You can move your Groove playlists to Spotify starting this week. They also stated that some users might be eligible for a 60-day Spotify Premium trial.

No idea how this affects FH3. I assume that station will be patched out.

For those of you playing the Forza 7 sweepstakes, just an FYI, you don't actually have to turn the key to win/lose. I got an email saying I won the Hoonigan Car Pack this morning. I didn't recall actually playing yet today so I checked and it was still waiting for me to turn the key. I did, and won the Hoonigan Car Pack. The More You Know.

 
gamegirlpocket said it far more eloquently than I could have. I have no problem with anyone’s religion (or lack thereof). I have a problem with “thoughts and prayers” being equivalent to action. Giving blood, giving a room in your home to people stuck there, giving money, etc - those things are actions that demonstratively help victims.

It’s especially annoying to me in our politicians...

“How about some policy on guns and mental health funding?”

...Looks at NRA lobbying check... “Nah. Thoughts and prayers are going to have to suffice for now.”

Stuff like Groove shutting down makes me wonder sometimes about investing in Microsoft platforms.  They don't shy away from abandoning things.  All the Zunes, the Microsoft band, Windows Phone and now Groove, if its not a rousing success then it is on the chopping block.

I have no problem when anyone uses the words "thought and prayers." You're looking far into it than it needs to be. When a Christian asks for God's help and someone comes along and gives them a hand, I believe a Christian is intelligent enough to know that this person decided to act and in that way believes that their prayers were answered. Real Christians always act.

We need to gather more information before we start putting blame on the NRA and start demanding gun control. The Shooter allegedly used fully automatic weapons, which is illegal no matter what.

On one hand, yes, we absolutely do need to gather more information. Maybe we could start with some government funded research into gun deaths but oops... For the last 15 years there's been a ban on any CDC research that might "advocate or lead to gun control." And it was lead by a guy that was deep in the pockets of the NRA, and who (now that he's retired) has come out and said "This thing I proposed was a mistake." http://abcnews.go.com/Health/cdc-launched-comprehensive-gun-study-15-years/story?id=39873289

Since The Onion is satire, are you asking about Frisky agreeing with The Onion or the Paul Ryan quote? The Paul Ryan quote is actually from 2015 and is not from today (I believe). Either way, I'm not a mental health expert, but someone who kills 58 people sounds like they likely have serious mental health issues.
