Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
[*]Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!

Kalimba is much more difficult than I thought it would be, for everyone who got it from that other region's GwG its fun, not at all the game I thought it was
Really fun game if you like a challenge. When you think it can't get harder, it does. The co-op levels are even harder.

I can’t remember the last time I’ve hated a game as much as Gone Home. What a waste of an hour lol

Blade Runner 2049 was fantastic. Also glad I watched the original last night. Definitely makes the sequel even better. I’d say 2049 is every bit of a classic itself.

Has Rare Replay ever had a sale? I checked Store Parser but it shows no price history. Has it really been full price since it came out?

I’m pretty sure it’s had sales. Of course, a lot of us here got it free digitally during last year’s E3 via the Mixer app.

Alright, guess I'll just wait until a sale pops up. Odd there isn't any price history on Store Parser.

I'm so happy my nude mods on skyrim are still there. I took a look and downloaded the survival mode and even though Bethesda took down the nude mods, I still have access to them because it's directly on my hard drive :D.

Caps win 5-4 and Penguins lose 10-1

Life is good
Lol yeah it's been some eventful games so far for sure. Was looking for the win but gotta give credit to the Buffalo Sabres forcing OT against the Canadiens, ultimately loosing in a SO though.

Fortnite upgrade adds new community event, Horde Bash. I'll get back into the game in 4 days... (currently working on an update for Rocket League) Sob.

There is.

https://www.storeparser.com/en-US/xbox-one/search-results/rare-replay/game-45673/rare-replay-rare-replay/

There are 2 listings for Rare Replay on the store, and Store Parser tracks them both. You apparently found this one on Store Parser.

https://www.storeparser.com/en-US/xbox-one/search-results/rare-replay/game-7962/rare-replay/

If you go to the page for that, it's listed as only available as part of a bundle, also called Rare Replay. The unpriced item appears to contain the bulk of the release, while the bundle includes that and the 360 releases as separate downloads. Oddly, some of the 360 games are listed twice, one with and one without the Rare Replay banner.

Finally started Cuphead.  Have only beaten the first run and gun stage and Botanic Panic and taken a few stabs at the frog bosses.  But thus far ...

Timing a parry seems a bit inconsistent.  Also had some trouble with the default controls, but handled things much better after remapping shooting from X to RT.

Ah. That's weird. Looks like I'll be waiting for another sale @ $9.90. It looks like it's due for one. Thanks for the info.

It is absolutely insane that Jaromir Jagr is still going strong. I still play NHL 94 on my Genesis with my nephews (and they absolutely love it) and he had already been playing for a while and was an all-star in that. The battery inside the game, used to save the playoffs, must be the Jagr of batteries because it still works too.

Kalimba is much more difficult than I thought it would be, for everyone who got it from that other region's GwG its fun, not at all the game I thought it was
I can't believe how much fun I've been having with it, Kalimba has that great mix of being fun but nice and challenging at the same time. I'm only through the first few levels and I already have a couple top 100 scores on the leaderboard, I'm sure that I will try and keep improving them and my future scores and then I'll wonder why I never get though my backlog. Really recommend it.

Game is still free in Tawain with GwG - http://www.cheapassgamer.com/redirect.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.microsoft.com%2Fzh-tw%2Fstore%2Fp%2Fkalimba%2Fc25k1d8b4h2b&pid=13845202

Started Cuphead too. Had to get to bed, so I use wanted to try it out real quick. Killed the Blue Ball and vegetable bosses. Lost the first Run n Gun and didn't enjoy it that much compared to the bosses so I might skip most of those.

Tried a couple times to fight the first flying boss (nowhere close to killing), frogs (very close), and something else I can't remember at the moment in the shortcut area.

Looking forward to going back at it tonight.

The flying boss is the one that has given me the most trouble so far. Ive gotten pretty close to beating it only to die during the final sequence. The animation is fantastic and the controls are tight, perfect for a run and gun platformer. I cant wait to get further into it and see what else it has to offer.

The last two run n gun sections on Inkwell 3 are horrific if you're going for the Pacifist achievement. Took me 3 hours to get them done. These levels are like 2 minutes long, mind you. Those flying shrimp on the last section of the Docks level had me raging hard.

Every boss has been pretty easy on Regular so far except for Rumor Honeybottom. Holy fuck, took me a couple hours to get an A rank on that one.

PS: when you get a chance, buy the Charge shot. It's OP as fuck. Does massive damage to bosses.

Blade Runner 2049 was fantastic. Also glad I watched the original last night. Definitely makes the sequel even better. I’d say 2049 is every bit of a classic itself.
Thanks for the info. I'll have to dig up my copy of the original. Plan on going tomorrow to see 2049. Today I'm gonna use Moviepass for my last shot at Spider-Man Homecoming.

I agree. Daredevil did a great job tying in the aftermath of the first Avengers film as there was so much property destruction and Kingpin (and The Hand) started buying up property and gentrifying things with a mobster element. Ben Ulrich's office had newspaper clippings about 'the incident' from the Avengers, etc.

I'm still so angry they killed Ben. They did a great job inserting his character into the show and I was looking forward to him being a show-linking reporter to follow each character and cover their stories, help create a coherent universe, but nope.

Then Jessica Jones comes along in the same fucking neighborhood as Murdock and there's not any acknowledgement of the local vigilante - not even a newspaper headline. A little more synergy would go a long way beyond Rosario Dawson being the only unifying element. Especially with all this talk of "so you're gonna go be a superhero?" without even mentioning by name the very visible heroes they have in their world. References shouldn't be forced, but their complete absence also feels forced.
Yeah that and the Hammertech tie-in in Luke Cage are nice. But at times like you said it seems like their lack of other obvious ways to connect things also seems forced.

Some very easy things would have been:
-Defenders mocking the idea of teaming up like The Avengers

-At some point during Iron Fist or Defenders making some sort of namedrop to Ironman due to both of them having Iron in their title. (or something like "Whats with these rich guys running around fighting people and calling themselves Iron?")

-Some villain mentioning having some members in HYDRA or somebody pulling some sort of valuable information from the HYDRA/SHIELD info leak or resources.

I get that they don't bring on actors from the movies due to budget and timing, but name drops especially to Phase 1 or early Phase 2 are easy.

But now we're getting Disaster Report with Evangelion, Godzilla, Ultraman and other random franchises so that earthquake can't stop the disaster or something I guess!
I guess it took going to a different publisher. I had heard of this but didn't realize it was going to have so much higher of a budget than the previous series. You know you're having a bad night when you have Toho kaiju, Ultraman Kaiju, and Angels are all in the city at once.

Hopefully this gets some kind of Asia version with English subs at least, but I think I'm going to try and import it no matter what. As many different licenses as it has, it's probably not getting anything other than the Japanese version unfortunately.

Yeah, I mean the only real difference between Punisher and these real-life shootings is that the narrative justifies his actions because he's attacking villains as a sympathetic anti-hero. But he's still stockpiling crazy weapons and explosives and launching premeditated one-man assaults with lots of guns. On paper, sounds a lot like Vegas. I'm glad they're delaying it.

Run-and-gun levels are essential for getting cash to buy upgrades, so they're worth your while. The second one is a Shaq-Fuer though.

Haven't played since last weekend because school, hoping to play more Cuphead this weekend.

As a whole, I've found the flying bosses the easiest so far (starting isle 3 tonight). Biggest thing to help me with them is to treat them as a shmup.

Bosses haven't been too bad though, but some of the run n gun levels can eat a dick. The one with the cars and ducks at the beginning especially.

Tried the Battlefront II Beta this morning.  I could not make it past the TOA screen.  I did a soft reset on my console and same issue.  Deleted the game and seriously considering canceling my pre-order.  EA really wants us to trouble shoot their game for them when they cant even get a simple user prompt correct.  No freaking way.  Looking on the Battlefront 2 site it seems several people are running into this issue

Yeah, I posted about this a few days ago. If you hard boot your Xbox One it usually seems to fix it. But it is a pain in the ass. I’ve also had it where it doesn’t respond on other menu screens.

I had the same issue a couple of days ago - a console restart did fix things in my case though. That seemed to be helping everyone I came across, so here's hoping it's not a new issue.

I had the same issue with the beta. I understand it is a beta, but if you can't make it past the sign up screen it is a huge issue. I am already soured on the game.

I died in Cuphead but the game thinks I'm still alive. Wonder how long until the game notices I lost. Can't pause to retry either. Will have to close the game.

Couldn't disagree more about the flying levels. I find them much harder.

Did all levels pacifist last night. That was a challenge. Haven't actually beaten the final bosses yet, but I'll do it this weekend.

No spoilers here, but apparently the true ending of Shadow of War is locked behind 40+ hours of grinding once you complete the 15ish hour main story OR you can buy lootboxes to get the needed orcs to speed up the process. This might be bearable if you really love the gameplay, but since it's one certain type of mission over and over rather than exploring the map for something it sounds pretty tedious to me.

Sounds sort of like the MGS V situation in more ways than one. In MGS, once you start chapter 2, the story kind of falls off a cliff and becomes much more sparse with several missions replayed as padding, though there is at least still a decent amount of stuff sprinkled in there. The Quiet stuff, a lot of tapes, and the Eli stuff. With Shadow of War you have to do a bunch of missions with these Orcs that have no context or story connections forever, relying only on your enjoyment of the gameplay to keep you going.

The second MGSV parallel is the still not officially unlocked meta "ending" connected to the base defense mode used to sell microtransactions, that is only unlocked by ALL players on a platform having zero nukes. While the concept behind this was very Kojima, I think Konami added all the bullshit once he was out of the picture. At least in Shadow of War it's still attainable, I guess.

Yeah, Polygon really hit Shadow of War on this issue. With one of their reviewers stating that they won’t even bother to try to get the “real ending”. Seems like a load of crap.

I haven’t even finished Mordor so I’m passing on it for now.

PSA: I just tried the clear option in the advanced network settings and wow did it speed up my one. Even game menus are faster. I was having live disconnected, then F1 menus were crawling today and I found a video on YouTube sayings it's actually a cache clear hidden in the MAC settings. I dunno, but it did speed things up.

It might be a fun grind, but I don't want to encourage this type of game design in single player games. Instead of making us grind for Orcs, why not just add an NG+ option that unlocks the true ending? Maybe because you can't tempt people to buy loot boxes that way, my guess.

Yeah to be honest loot crates in a single player game just completely kills my desire to even buy the game until it hits bargain bin prices. I don't even care that the true ending is locked behind it either, it's more about how this kind of stuff has an impact on game design and balance.
