The dialogue in Oxenfree is interesting and well-written. It's the pacing and controls that are making it harder to get into - I think I'd enjoy it more if it was all dialogue trees and got rid of the "control this slowly moving character up this winding path, oh fuck, you forgot to hit that switch on top of the tower, time to go back through the winding path at a snail's pace." Or give me a run button, we've had them since the 80s.

Got 100% on both games. Was disappointed with Gone Home coz I thought it was gonna be a horror game with the Ouija board and pentagram and lights blown out when u picked up the cross in the hallway. Just like how Halo 5 was marketed incorrectly too lol...

Hated the slow walking in Oxenfree too. If we could run super fast in Oxenfree that would've been amazing. Oxenfree imo had the better story and it gets better everytime u continue the storyline and realize what was going on with all the differences in dialogue from previous runs
coz none of the endings are good for all characters...if there is one it hasn't been discovered yet iirc. They were all screwed by turning on the radio, best one was thought to be the grocery store ending but she's actually possessed

The level of storytelling this did reminded me of prime Valve like the Left 4 Dead and Portal games. I really think they could hold up a full length game if they just added some classic Resident Evil style puzzles at a minimum.

I'm curious about running this game by my aunt. She would have been a teenager in the late 70s rather than the mid 90s, but I think most of it would still land. She didn't come out until like 10 or so years ago, and she never has talked about that kind of stuff.

The last voice diary is hidden.

You have to knock a ball off of a ceiling beam in the garage, (throw the milk carton in the recycling bin). Take the ball to the sister’s, (Sam, I think her name was), bedroom, close the door, and make a basket. That triggers the diary.

Uber failure here for me LOL. Videos made it look so ez. I could NOT make the milk carton hit the ball no matter which angle I threw it...sometimes the milk carton even got stuck in the ceiling -_- lol.
I had much better luck throwing the soda can up to knock the ball down since I could do that on the 1st try XD

Ok I got RNG but what is RWNJ?

Also I shut off my system tonight and the brand new external HDD stayed on like my old one. Wtf? I just waited about a minute & decided to unplug the power cord to the Xbox - will have to remember to plug it back in next time or I envision hitting the controller button over and over and going whaaa, why wouldn't it turn on.

Caved on all ME2 and some ME3 DLC with the remainder of GS credit. It never goes cheaper and all my ME stuff is otherwise trapped on my PS3, which has been unplugged since I got the X1 due to running out of HDMI ports. Replaying them (maybe when the semester ends?) and earning all the achievements again (never played them on this platform) sounds good.

 
My local Meijer had several copies of fable anniversary for 12.99, seems to be the low end for that game so I snagged one, check it out if you have meijers
 
$46 on CDKeys. Although I've never had a problem with anything I've bought from them, I'm increasingly paranoid about resellers after a few horror stories on forums about accounts being banned. CDKeys seems legitimate, though.

If you can go a week or two without Gold, you may get a better deal for Black Friday.

Fired Shadow of Mordor up to work on finishing it so I can eventually play the sequel, I really don't care about the story I've realized. All I want to do is murder orcs and wreak havoc.
 
Gone Home was booty, I know people were saying walking simulator and some people were complaining it was called that, but you can't even sprint and the story was just eh, they did add a few cheap things to try and spook people like others said but it all came off as gimmicky and meaningless. 

 
Know some people have complained about the new dashboard, but I’m actually really starting to like it. So much faster than the old one and once you get used to it, pretty easy to use.
 
I've had the new dashboard for a while being in the preview program, and I feel it's much better once you get used to it

October is looking up, only half way through and I actually finished a game  :shock:

Checking my achievements in Lego star wars and I got 2 achievements nearly 10 years apart

There are still some (IMO) unnecessary button pushes in the new guide, but I quite like it. I was on my nephew's console long enough to get it on my WiFi so I can block it from internet access and I caught myself staring blankly and wondering where I need to go. Then the gears married up and I was back in business.

Hopefully the Hotwheels DLC. Just finished the last few achievements I am likely to get in the base game. Only ones I am missing are the one for getting 3 stars on all PR events and bucketlists. The drifting kills any realistic shot in me getting 3 stars on all PR locations.

Not all of them but some of them. It's kind of hard to finish a review when they get some of the number wrong. *cough cough* polygon *cough cough*(# of classes).

First off, I'm not the biggest south park or RPG fan. I haven't seen every episode, only a couple season, but i can say without doubt that a ton love was put into this game. It's a south park fan's dream game. But as someone who doesn't watch the series religiously, I'd still give the game a 9/10 just for the amount of content and for all the things it does right. The lack of super difficult puzzles is my only complaint (and it's not a great complaint since the game isn't about the puzzles). I'm sure if I got more of the joke references It would be as close to perfect as an game can be for me.

There is just too much variety in this game in terms of how to customize your character (both physically and combat wise) and how people react to you in the world (depending on your skin color), to give this game anything less than a 9. It's clearly an A effort game and the scores should reflect it. I'm 20 hours in and sometimes combat is a little easy at times with my white character, since i can buy the best gear, but I still haven't unlocked all my companions and abilities.

I don't understand how some reviewers only give one or 2 complaints and give it a 7-8/10 when they have given more complaints to higher rated games. I know they are paid to give their opinion but a better break down of their scoring and why they deducted points is needed. Reviews just feel so nit picky sometimes that I much prefer the "buy it", "try it", "avoid it" system

As a whole, if you like RPGs or South Park I feel this game is a must buy at some point. I don't regret buying the gold version and am very excited to see what the dlc turns out to be. The amount of joy I've got out of 20 hours so far has been so immense that I've barely touched Destiny 2 this week and I would say this rivals even that for GOTY for me.

So do yourself a favor and buy this game, or at the very least try it. If you can't pre-order it and get the first game I'd say wait till it hit $30-40 and it will be well worth the investment of your time and money.

Y'all are killing me with all the TFBW talk. I haven't enjoyed South Park much in the last 2-3 years but watched it pretty regularly for a long time, and the last game was great. I'm interested in the new one but time, money, etc.

On the bright side the game isn't going anywhere and it's good. Just wait for a good sale or rent it from redbox one night to have some fun. I'm truly not trying to spoil the game for anyone that wants to wait (especially on the forum). Just make sure you don't look on my xbox dvr page!

 
Yeah I see there's an update, unchecked keeping updates latest because of my internet, how big is it again? Didn't someone say around 3GB!?
