It's a lot funner when you change step 3. So "join a match, collect gear, win the match, lose the gear you just collected, and get booted to the lobby" would be the way to best enjoy Fortnite. Seriously, there's so much satisfaction in winning. Wins #1-5 had me jumping out of my seat throwing fists in celebration.

Meh...I like games where you have incentives to actually play, like loot, xp, currency, unlocks, etc...this just seems completely pointless without any of that. I get it's a beta, but blah.

On your user page go to "Edit My Profile" and go to "Ignore Preferences" and type in the name of the person you want to ignore.

I'm with you man. I mostly lurk anymore, but I still read this thread every day. I avoid the news on TV and I try to avoid it online when possible, I just never thought I'd have to read political bullshit in a gaming forum unless it's in relation to the actual politics of the story of a game.

I like off topic discussion as much as anyone else, but if multiple people are asking for a subject to be dropped, common sense says stfu and move on. Can we please discuss deals, cat memes or games in general again and leave the politics for somewhere else?

 
If forum etiquette meant anything I wouldn't have to complain because that subject would have been dropped after the first person asked it to be.

I haven't played it but the base game (with the founder packs) is what you may be more interested in. The "add on" that is a separate game download that you played gets most people's attention I think because it doesn't have progress (grinding to unlock guns while getting mowed down by people with better guns doesn't sound fun to me) and everyone starts on an even playing field with nothing. If they add load outs and guns at the beginning it's just another typical shooter basically.

It's probably not what you're looking for progress wise but I would assume they're going to add cosmetics you can unlock at some point.

Any pvp game you start out with nothing, but earning all the crap is what makes me want to play more than one match before uninstalling a game. One match was enough for me to uninstall Fortnite and give it a bad review on the Xbox. Cosmetics doesn't make want to grind out a character, it's upgrading the character, unlocking skills, unlocking weapons or mods. Starting at zero every new match is just mind numbingly dull to me. The single player did sound interesting, but after seeing how bad they designed their pvp I'm not willing to give them a chance by giving them my money for it.

I feel you bro. I bought Digital Video Poker and it sucked! I've played blackjack, but they gave me too many cards and the numbers didn't add up at all. Then, I come to find out that I wasn't even playing for money the whole time, but in game currency you can only spend on deck backs? Where are the upgrades and progression for automatic card counting and xray vision? I gave it zero stars and sold the addresses of the devs to spam bots.

Currently downloading Fallout 4. If I've never played it before should I wait to download any of the DLC's (Workshops included) until I finish the base game? I guess I'm asking if any of the DLC changes the main world of the game at all.

I remember playing Witcher 3 complete edition and stumbling upon a Hearts of Stone quest and getting wrecked (beware of that @ new players picking up the game in this sale) so I just wanna make sure there won't be anything like that. I also remember how annoying it was in Skyrim special edition that you couldn't disable or delete just the DLC to make those damn vampires/cultists stop attacking. So if I should wait to download the DLC to avoid something like that, I would really appreciate a heads up.

I enjoy playing with friends and the joy of winning.

Never played multiplayer in any of the games you listed. I tried multiplayer in halo 3 when it first came out and hated it, Haven't played a halo multiplayer game since. I don't play multiplayer or pvp to win, I play for fun, usually when drunk or stoned, and to just unlock shit. If playing just to win I wouldn't play pvp at all.

Other than solitaire, nope, I've never had any interest in trying card based games. Ive never pkayed poker, or bridge, or whatever. I couldn't even get into pokemon ccg or the like.

It's what came pre-installed with Windows Vista, which is still one of the only games on my 12yo pc. And out the guys I'm "friends" with only one plays games, and he's just into Battlefield 1, so not a lot of actual gaming going on.

Weekend is almost here. I Almost want to go see "The Snowman" just because it's getting destroyed by critics and for some reason they decided to name Michael Fassbender's character "Harry Hole" and it's somehow meant to be taken seriously.

 
I've always preferred games where everyone has the same options, and it's not a matter of who has dedicated the most time/money to the game.

Hence why Goldeneye 64 and Rainbow Six 3 are my all time favorite MP games.

Believe it or not that's where these neofascist got started, gaming sites. Bannon got his ideas on how to push his nazi agenda when he started one those companies that do gold mining for players. A lot of them are paid trolls. They're paid not to win arguments but to cause division among working class people. I don't want to get into detail, but you can look it all up. It's best to ignore these alt-right trolls. He got his ideas when he met these virgins sitting in Moms basement hating life, It donned on him he could motivate these rejects. Fallout 4 DLC is ok to have preinstalled. They have level checks before they become available. Such as when you hit level 15, then you get a radio broadcast. Then I usually wait to level up a little more then do it.

I haven't played Witcher 3 to compare (sorry)
 
Too many good games coming out. I am taking an official vow of cheap-assery - I’m not spending another dime on games until Black Friday sales. Only exception is if Blood Bowl II legendary goes $20 or less.

OK, some of you might like this non-political OT batner, bear with me... Been busy, getting ready for Cider this weekend and three trees had branches filled with apples, it's the most I've ever seen in our little apple orchard, break right off due to high wind recently. SO lol first tree was fairly easy to work on as the branch was rotten, fallen onto the ground, onto the fence and we cut up half the tree salvaging the other part, you know where you have a V in an apple tree at the base. Second one was a bit higher (it seriously was like a videogame, this is the just a bit harder level lol) so we used the little teeth saw attached to an aluminum pole. After many back and forths it finally cut through it and it came down. Alright third tree is much bigger (higher level, way more difficult), and although we could reach with the saw pole I decide, alright since it broke and is still hanging on barely, why don't we try to pull the branch down. After many attempts with a tractor and a rope - Redneck Youtube video right - attached around the branch the thing finally broke off. Many many tire marks/ruts in the ground lol. There's always something to do on the farm it seems. Alright, I caught up on this thread and wanted to say:

I just can't, I can't believe you felt obliged to give the game a 1 star because you didn't like it. I mean if you play and fall through the world with a game altering glitch I might see someone going out of their way to rate a game the lowest rating but the fact that you just didn't like it so 1 star? W.T.F. That reminds me I need to write up a review for the game and it's not going to be a 1.

F Off, Fortnite is a great game. You just played the free add-on that's directly related to PUBG (and Battle Royale in general)'s popularity. If you suck you can always try your hand with the Team version. I would find it was a hit or miss soloing but it's highly enjoyable playing in a duo or team mode.

I'm amazed with the community you can get in this game. Sure a few times there might be people that don't want to team play and try to do their own thing ultimately failing the objective but most of the time you can get paired up with some really good folks. In Save the World you need to have teamwork to go up against the hordes of zombie husks and some form of sportsmanship also helps.

The Rocket League thing sucks that you can only get 3 decryptors the whole event.

Luckily for them I threw another $5 in Micro transactions there way.

Though RL is still the only game I've put any money in for MT. I've spent many, many hours and I only paid $20 for the game. So I give them more money.

I understand where you're coming from, and I think that's why I like PUBG (I've only played two rounds of fortnite). I play so many games where I can choose from a long list of equipment or mods and die 20 times in a match with no consequence, and these games change it up and add a new challenge. Since you seemed unsure when quoting someone else they're called battle royale games based on the Japanese book, manga and movies from the early 2000s where students scrounge for weapons and have to fight each other.

Their base game is supposed to go free eventually, so you can try it out then without giving any money. Their PvP they didn't really "design" more so than copy and pasted one of the most popular games currently.
 
Just logged back in XBL rewards after a while, I didn't realize how shit it was for us europeans. First VIP star is 300€ (300$ in the US), which means we have to spend about 20% more if I'm not too sleepy. And we get less money too, I went to check my last deposit (july 2016) and I got 1.22€ for 1500 points, so less than the 1.50$ an US user would've gotten.
