DICE BF and COD games are like the last holdouts to still hold on to Map Pack which just kills your playerbase by splintering it

 
Just chatted with that Forbes dude on Twitter. Had read one of the others responding to him that there was an Insider update that fixed the issues. That made sense as to why I didn’t see any problems because I didn’t watch any 4K Blu-rays (or regular Blu-rays for that matter) until this weekend. And they looked marvelous. Told him that as well as remembering seeing that there was a Blu-ray player update (think Friday?). It’s all good for me and he said he was glad to hear that I and other Insiders were getting good results. Seems like a nice enough guy.

Anyway, wouldn’t worry about that article in terms of how 4K discs work. Happy with my X for it and everything else this far.

Anybody play The Surge? I've checked out the trial, and I enjoyed it. I'm wondering if it will be cheaper in the future though. I think I can wait for a better deal. I've got 4 years of catching up to do this gen.

 
Anyone else having trouble with their Xbox One X? I have the Scorpio edition and the home screen keeps freezing/lagging. It usually happens when I exit a game with HDR.

I think Nintendo/Sakurai themselves have always planned to stick to game characters. Goku has always been a popular request and during the Brawl era he said that anime characters weren't being considered, which would surely rule out these characters. I think when the character DLC ballot was going they said something along the lines of needed to at least be primarily a game character, as well as being in a game on a Nintendo system at least once. We never saw the full results, but Bayonetta won as the highest overall "realizable" character when the votes of North America, Europe, and Japan were combined. I don't think the *redacted* would have even been in the top 20, though it's likely Goku and troll vote Shrek were high, and Cloud likely was added due to the vote, with Geno from Super Mario RPG getting a decent amount of votes as well, to sweeten the deal with Square-Enix.

Not here on the normal edition. Did get a few crashes trying to launch games (worked fine after a second try) but otherwise the home screen functions normally and faster.

Man, 2K must have felt they needed some kind of holiday buffer since Red Dead was delayed out of the year. A $200 collector's item with a now $20 game? For that price they definitely should have just made the statue with a real collector manufacturer and thrown in a free digital code. Since no one is listed as the maker, I expect this statue to be trash quality like the majority of current collector's editions. The only fairly decent quality ones I'm aware of were the Halo 3 and Reach Legendary editions, from western studios at least. Most recent ones just have bad quality control with shit paint application or poor build quality.

Probably just a mistake from someone that's misinformed. Plenty of GS employees (and generaly consumers) don't really understand the limitations of BC. This person probably saw a headline like "OG Xbox games now playable on Xbox One", and when given the task to put these stickers on their games, assumed this meant all games. This is compounded by the fact that they now have seasonal employees at all stores.

I'd love to get some of these stickers at TRU. I don't have space to make a section for BC games, but these would be just as good.

Must be a newbie employee then, because someone that's been there a while would've (or at least should've) wondered why they were putting BC stickers on games that didn't have their prices jacked up.

 
The ignorance of Gamestop employees astounds me, I've encountered more industry misinformation from them than anywhere else, and the dudes there assume they know more because of their job.

Of course, this could have also been a disgruntled employee leaving a customer service nightmare on their last day. I hope it's the latter.

I just got back from a GS where someone asked the guy working there if they sold PS+ and was told that they used to, but there is no such thing anymore. He even repeated himself.
I grabbed a card off the rack and handed it to the guy.
This is the same employee that automatically added the extended warranty to my checkout and tried to hurry the trans before I noticed or was able to give him my club card.

Alright, confession/realization time about the 1X.

My 1X is hooked up to a 46” 1080p tv. I’ve been playing tons of Forza 7 on it this weekend. It looks amazing “supersampled”.

I’m now playing out here on the couch on my 1S, on a 65” 4K tv. Forza 7 looks like hell now. Jaggies and badness.

I’ve seen the 1X light, even supersampled to a 1080p, and I really don’t want to go back to my 1S! Anyone considering if you can see a difference on 1080p I’m here to say you can.

Thankfully, my other 1X comes in Tuesday.

Can you still game share after it gets delisted? As in, as long as you buy it before it gets delisted it's yours forever and all features of a digital copy apply including the ability to game share, but it will no longer appear as available for purchase on store fronts?

I've been reading about Battlefront 2's hero system and it got me thinking, how come Rainbow Six Siege, where the "free" characters take just as long if not longer to unlock gets praised and people love it but the Battlefront stuff blows up, is it because it's EA? Like I don't understand and that thought randomly hit me.

Could be. Or it could be that it's the soapbox issue of the moment.

Also although this loot box issue is real there's probably a lot of cognitive bias at work.

Yes. Only two games I know of that you couldn't were PT aka Silent Hill Demo on PS4 and *maybe* Afro Samuari 2 or whatever it was called. I know of no other games with issues. Even the indie games on the 360 can always be re-downloaded after the market place closes.

Also the original XBox DLC could never be re-downloaded since the servers were taken offline.

So has anybody have an issue where their update just stopped updating? My Rocket League update was stuck on 1% for a few days and I thought it was just my crappy internet. Nope, was able to slide up Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim SE, Gears 4, Forza Motorsport 6, Forza Horizon 2 & a few apps in front on the queue line. Those downloaded and now I'm back to waiting on Rocket League stuck at 1%. There's also no way to cancel the update, - while this is still present on my Halo Wars 2 update - and the only thing I can think of getting around this is uninstalling Rocket League. Of course that would mean I'd have to wait even longer for a bigger file size in order to play RL again. What a fucking bullshit thing this is.

Dead Pool being rumoured delisted is all I need as an excuse to backlog it. Hell, the 360 version has been sitting in my backlog for years. Yep my hoarder OCD is bad

Get nice and used to some games like Forza and Assassins Creed Origins on your 1S. Then when you cut over, even in 1080p, you’ll see.

But I’m scoping out those OLEDs, don’t get me wrong.

Not particularly. Just didn't have much to do this weekend that took me away from the couch, for good or ill. I've got a laptop set off to the side with the stream running mute, and the red submit button pops well into my peripheral vision.

 
Finished the Black Ops campaign and spent more time on the Zombies campaign. I got to Level 6 by myself and did better on "Five" than I did in that Haunted Mansion room. I like the "arcade" mode too and would rather spend more time on those two modes than anything else.

Sure. I played this on the PS3 but if there is more multiplayer activity on the Xbox 360, I'll switch over. The best I did with a group today was 14.

 
Those Gears 4 streams are fun. These guys playing today aren't even near the top but they're all still damn good players. It's crazy how I'm an Onyx 2 rank in Escalation but the skill gap between me and a Diamond player is massive.

Just hit me up on Xbox. It's tough to get to higher rounds with random people in my opinion. YouTube videos are your best fiend when you're first learning zombies.
The reason I like zombies so much is because I had a group of friends that would communicate, which made us feel like a team. Surviving and dying as one really brought us together. We are on different schedules now but we still get to play from time to time. PM me if u want some gamertags. We are always happy to group up and go a few rounds!

Last time they had an insane bundle with Forza Motorsport 6 & Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Wonder if they'd do a FM7/Gears4 bundle. Personally I'm good there though.

Well, the early games weeded out some teams, but the regulars like Optic, Ghost, Echo Fox, etc., were there. Can't just seed them directly into the finals, removes the fun of upsets.

And for rankings, it probably greatly depends on the Diamond player, because there are major problems with the Gears ranking algorithm. Last weekend I played the 2 Escalation matches for the Nuclear Enforcer and Overkill. My team won the first match, finished in the top half of players, didn't move from 10% Onyx 1. Haven't played much in recent weeks, but I've been on winning teams and haven't moved from that percentage in a while. The second match, my team lost 7-2 because a teammate left in the 2nd round. Got dropped down to 66% Gold 3. Escalation never goes well when the team sizes aren't even, and the ranking should account for that. There also seems to be little evidence that there's any kind of rank decay related to lack of playing during a season.

The normal operator unlocks don't take very long in Siege. The DLC operators take quite a while in comparison.

I don't know what the estimate is for Battlefront hero unlocks, but most people's desire to play as random Canadian military guy probably isn't on the same level as wanting to be Luke Skywalker.
