If you've registered for the event, on the right side of your home page it will show you which day is currently active for you. You may need to request a scan if the site is behind.

Do they need to be done in order? I did enough to complete days 2-4 last night but it didn't says I completed them. I haven't done the complete a game task for day 1 yet.

Also you have to do the callenges in order you can't complete later challenges if you havenÄt completed the ones before..same for Day for N O E L achievements have to be done in this order, can't get L before N O or E...

Currently on day 5 where I have to get 5 rare achievements shouldn't be that hard plus I go through older games again

 
Is there a GOTY type of thing on CAG? Would you guys be interested in our own Xbox GOTY vote in this thread? I could tabulate the results but I don’t want to through it if there already is one or not many are interested.

My initial thoughts. Had to come out in 2017 on Xbox. Does not have to be an exclusive. Probably a ranking system where people rank top 5 and higher ranks get more points. Votes messaged to me to keep thread cleaner or just post here (for discussion)? I was thinking just game of the year but want to a second category too? Not too long of voting period (one week seem ok?).

Not sure if something is already in place, but either way I'm down with that.
 
I do hate this "secret achievement" crap on Xbox One, as you can't just reveal what it is if you want and if it's a stat achievement that should track, you get nothing. Super Lucky's Tale has a secret achievement for burrowing for 10,000 meters, but you can't track it so I know how much more I have to go.

We have a Honda Odyssey van and a Buick Regal sedan, so we weren’t making hard choices. The kids didn’t have to worry, I packed my oldest one’s favorite legos and books, and my twin toddlers were happy with their blankies and a couple stuffed animals.

Only video games I grabbed was my old DS. I have no idea why, but I can’t travel without it, even though I rarely play it anymore. I wasn’t worried about the Xbox because so much of the library is digital I’d only have had to replace the console itself.

In your feed on your homepage it should show an entry for game completed and an entry for item towards specific day of Christmas challenge.

For the life of me I can't find it. I can find ways to change my blood type or schedule diaper changes for when I'm 94 years old. But I can't figure out customizing

I don't personally care what people call them, but just in case no one has done it yet, people can be jerks when they see people call them vinyls with an s. Not a fan of people that are elitist collectors.

I thought for a second "$40 is a lot for two records" until I remembered I just bought the portal soundtrack on vinyl for $30 for a single LP.
 
The Coalition just confirmed new achievements for Gears 4 soon. One of them is rumored to be beating the campaign on Hardcore or above without using the Lancer or the Gnasher. Not too hard but I just hate having to play through the campaign for the 50th time again.

Seems like an easy achievement according to this solution on TrueAchievements.com.

 
I got an email for the Tera technical test today, says you'll have a better chance at getting in if you complete they're survey by the 10th. It's just asking about platform and region.

I hope this game is decent, I'm only really interested because I heard it's actually got decent real-time combat, and its cool art style.

 
Anyone have issues disabling auto-renew? I redeemed a 3 month XBL code and only turned on auto-renew because it gave me an extra month. But now I can't disable it. Sneaky bastards.

I was looking to this as well. Downloaded the demo and hope to try it out tonight. Also been wanting a space combat game that isn’t as daunting as Elite Dangerous and without all the micro transaction garbage in Battlefront 2 (although the space battles are amazing in it).

Also looking at the Danger bundle and Victor Vran. Some good stuff in there.

How are you attempting to disable it? I always do it through the website via PC, and receive a confirmation e-mail I can refer to later if necessary (I don't trust the bastards either, LOL).

Have to say that Starpoint Gemini 2....sucks IMO. Why can’t we get a Rogue Squadron type space shooter?

Guess I have to settle for BF2 for now.
 
I need xbox help.

I have a friend who I game share with. I have my Xbox as his home account and mine is his home account.

My son is now getting a xbox for his birthday. Obviously, I'm going to have to game share with my son. We will be on the same network. Is my previous game sharing partner just going to have to do without now?

What's the best way to run two xboxs on the same network? Do I have to redownload everything to my son's account? How would game saves work also? What's the best way to transfer games/gamesaves between the two xboxs?

One last thing. Has anyone used the clear memory on the Xbox. It says it clears local saves but the games would be resynced once you play them again. What's the pros and cons of doing this? I'd hate to lose gamesaves for games ive put 100s of hours in.

It depends on who you want to share your current library with. You could just set your xbox as your son's home and start purchasing on his account when you want to keep it in the family, while purchasing on your account when you want to share big boy games.

The other easy option would be to send your buddy some cash/credit and let him buy the games you both want to share, keeping his home as your xbox. You could also gift purchases to him to share with yourself.

There's a third option involving setting his xbox as your son's home to gameshare future purchases with while sharing your current library with your son, but that's probably a lot more work than just splitting the cost and having him buy more games.

Gotta be separate HDDs for each xbox, no networking of games or saves*. I think they added bulk copying, so making a clone drive for your son shouldn't be too bad.

*Technically saves are on the cloud, but you'd still have to download them to each xbox to use.

Any saves not on the cloud will be lost and you won't be able to launch anything without an internet connection to verify your purchase. There's no real pros unless you're trying to fix a problem.

I've had to reset to clear issues, a week later my ISP went down for a day and I couldn't even use the BR player because I hadn't launched it since the reset. Doh!


*edit* A couple notes:
As far as I know an xbox can have unlimited accounts set to be their home. Definitely no issues with your xbox being your buddy and son's homes.

Xbl gold also shares with xbox home status, so you can start adding subs to your son's account to share on your xbox.

With the addition of gifting, you can keep all your xbox credit on your son's account and gift purchases to your primary account to share with your buddy, assuming you went with option 1 or 3 above.

I'm assuming based on the way this is worded that your son is going to have his own XBL account? I have two XB1s and my son mostly plays the one upstairs as they each have an external HD attached with most of the same games. But I haven't sprung for his own account (he's only 10 anyway) so the only thing is I can't be logged in to the one downstairs while he's playing. But since I have a PS4 down there it's not an issue.

Make him an account and set his xbox as your home. Bingo - his account gets access to your xbl gold. Extra points for making his account a family member on your own to set parental controls.

They changed family gold sharing last year, no reason to buy multiple subs. You could even smurf in games if you wanted (make a new account to have a fresh start in multiplayer).

Hmm, you determined that from the demo in (possibly far) less than 2.5 hours? It might not be what you were hoping for, but to say it sucks seems a bit harsh. I haven't played it yet, but it's got a 71/7.8 on Metacritic, and the PC version seems to be mostly positive on Steam.

I'm looking forward to it, but could say the same about plenty of games in my backlog. Hopefully in 2018...

Well, I can’t stand the controls so that’s my basis for saying that. The controls in BF2 are far better. Guess it’s all in what you’re looking for.

Definitely would recommend trying the demo before buying is all I will say. It’s just not for me.

I don't think it's ever taken me more than 2 and a half hours of playing a game to know if I think it sucks or not.

Well you sir just blew my mind. I guess I never had any reason to mess with what was working or look into other options yet. That's going to be a game changer and save a lot of money down the road!
 
Starpoint Gemini is a great PC game. Unfortunately, that doesn't always translate to console games. A lot of PC games are way too complex and a pain with controller for console guys to be comfortable with them. I am a console gamer mostly (I play a lot of guild wars 2 on PC) and can't ever get too deep into these 4x/simulation type games.
 
So any account that is in my family game shares also?

If that's the case I should just make my buddy part of the family also and that would solve that problem. Does anyone know how many family members you can have?

To me there's a difference between a game sucking, and me simply not enjoying a particular game. I could say Spelunky, Cuphead, PES 2018, or FIFA 18 all suck, since those are games that don't appeal to me, but that's not really a statement about their quality in general.

Also, there are definitely games and movies that have grown on me over time. First time I saw 'I Am Legend' I thought it was terrible, but got stuck watching it again one day, and now I own it on blu-ray. I was cursing my decision to pick up games like Army of Two: The Devil's Cartel and Farming Simulator 2015, yet changed my opinion after I starting working through them.

More recent games like this are Stardew Valley, that I played for 30 minutes on PC and grew bored, yet sunk many great hours into on console. Cities Skylines starts out with with basically no instruction, and having to look practically everything up online; it's worth it though, as the game gets a lot more fun once you have the basics down. I haven't played Dark Souls yet, but I get the impression that's another series that may turn people off at first.

Then there's people like my uncle that played Mass Effect at my insistence, only to conclude that the game sucked. We had a quick look at his save, and I was astounded to find that he hadn't even made it past the tutorial mission. When your 'red shirt' squad member dies 10 minutes into the game, he said the series wasn't for him, regardless of the Metacritic rankings of 32, 5, and 21 respectively, of the top xbox 360 games ever.

Family members are just for parental controls now. Your home xbox shares your games and xbl gold, and each account can only have one console set as its home. It may work for other subs, like Game Pass, but I know it doesn't work for EA Access. I can share the games from EAA, but not trials or the app itself.

Made up for lost time in TAs 12 Days of Christmas by knocking out days 4 and 5 tonight. The fire may have slowed me down last night by knocking out the power, but never underestimate the number for rare achievements in Rare Replay

Glad that the fire didn't effect you more. I'm still on day one. I've never finished a TA event so I'm not too worried if I fail this one. I have 8 more achievements in AC origins and think I'll have that be the day 1 game. There are 3 non story achievements but the only reason they aren't done is because they're from stuff that is locked until further in the story.
