If you've already started FH3 and plan to start FM7, I can't see any benefit to playing FM6 unless it's for the Porsche or Nascar expansions. FM6 is great like I mentioned before, but it sounds like you're more into racing games given that you have a wheel and all so if you do get FM6 I'd hold off on starting FM7.

If you plan to play these games a year in arrears, then buy FM6. That is an incredible value for the price.

FM7 is awesome, and it would be hard to go back especially if you have an X1X. But that game, all its content, and whatever expansions they make, will all be cheaper next Christmas.

If you're going so far as to get a racing cockpit you have graduated past the Logitech series of wheels. Get the fanatec csl elite or one of the equivalent thrustmasters. They make the logitech feel like a toy for less than a $100 more.

In terms of wheel ffb the forza series are pretty bad. F7 did get better but unless you play on pc and get a 3rd party program you wont get a great ffb experience. Skip F6, Assetto Corsa and Project Cars 2 are a couple games you will want to check out to make the most of your setup.
 
Boo, tried to PM the current X1X deal at Best Buy to get a $50 Gc but since I have Scorpio edition and it’s sold out they won’t PM. Good on you folks who got the standard edition :)

I just looked up the fanatec wheel and that thing is pricey if I get the same setup with the shifter I have. I've never even had a racing wheel before but decided to go all out with the cockpit as well. Maybe next gen I won't need tbe cockpit so I can go with a nicer wheel, but I'm sure I'll be happy with this.

The first day it was 3pm Eastern. I think the 2nd day was 3pm Eastern as well, but I wasn't available to check. Yesterday it didn't go live until 7pm Eastern (midnight UTC). Looks like the same today, since no 1 day deals have gone live. The Telltale Walking Dead Collection dropped 25% today, but that has a 12 day countdown like the other full duration sales.

 
I shouldn’t have gotten Forza 6. I played some races and enjoyed it. But then decided to see how much different Forza 7 is. Holy crap on the X, it’s mind blowing how incredible it looks and feels at 4K/60FPS.

Not sure if I can go back to 6 now. Maybe if I haven’t played either in a while then I can fire it up without remembering how much more awesome 7 is on the X.

And the micro transactions don’t seem too bad. Haven’t felt any need to buy any yet. Don’t do multiplayer though so that could be it.

The daily deals? They're up for longer than 24 hours. The Sims 4 Bundle went live last night at 7pm Eastern and is counting down to end at 5am Eastern tomorrow. That's 34 hours. IIRC, the earlier dailies also ended at that time, so they were up for 34-37 hours.

Well nothing I really wanted except FM6 maybe but the op says it was December 23rd deal and somwbody said it didn't go live until 7 central yesterday and that is already gone I think unless I have to buy it from my console, not online from my phone while I'm at my inlaws house for Christmas.
 
Anyone know if The Walking Dead 400 days is included with Xbox One version?  I seem to remember getting the first season with GWG but was not sure if they included that DLC episode.  Anyone know?

FM6 was the daily deal for yesterday. It went live at either 3pm Eastern or 7pm Eastern on the 22nd and ended early this morning. The Sims 4 went live last night and ends tomorrow.

Aww ok, I need to check this site more I guess. Going by AWP though I lucked out since I have FM7 on the X. Now I'm debating Assetto Corsa since I noticed that's on sale. Don't know if I would need the DLC also though.
 
LOL, well you may feel like it's a big difference for you AWP but I'm still running with the reg XB1, can't afford to get stuck with 4K patches with my crap internet, so it's not that big of a deal going back to FM6. I'm not beholden to graphics when I go back and play older games, I mean it's quite obvious that's what's going to happen. Still working on a series of backlog and that means I've gone back and forth on cleaning up some achievements, racing & collecting more cars in FH1, FM4, FM5, FH2, FH3 & FH6. Again I recommend Forza Hub so you can bank some of that progression from other Forza fans. FM7 launched with a ton of bugs, the Forzathon included in the game is always buggy & laggy, the multiplayer has been buggy apparently (I have been doing campaign & free plays) and I've actually run fairly low with credits after you get to buy the Tier car rewards when you progress your car collection.

Assetto isn't any good but maybe that was just reviewed at the $60 mark.

Might be on tomorrow but probably not so I'll say a Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays CAG crew.

I would feel the same if I had picked up the full version of F7. I only recently played the demo and I plan on picking up the full version during the Xmas sale. Graphically, there are more details on the track in F6. In F7 the they are scaled back a bit to keep the game at 60fps while being able to hit that 4K marketing checkbox. That being said, on a 4K TV Forza 7 looks superior due to a native 4K res and HDR.

I played a bit of F6 last night and immediately noticed the lower rez and saw a bit of AA or jaggies. It's still playable sure but I think it would be something that I would go back every few months just to put a couple laps in for finishing up a series in single player.

It's great that you went all in for sim racing but just my opinion, you have taken a Ferrari chassis and dropped a Toyota engine in it. It will work just fine but like the other person said, a Fanatec CSL Elite or Thrustmaster T300 RS GT would do that racing seat justice. The Logitech is still running old g29 steering wheel tech and the other ones are smoother single or dual belt devices. Force feedback feels a bit rough on that Logi. It does cost a bit more for the other brands but you get great customization options and higher build quality.

Honestly I used to not be as much of a graphics whore. I mean I have a PS4 and always got 90% of multiplats on XB1 despite the fact that most reviews would say the games looked and ran better on the PS4.

The X changed that. It really is a huge difference in many games. And now, I’ll admit I am a graphics whore through and through. The fact that games run better also is part of it. Even though the X is supposed to run older games better, I feel like FM7 seems way more fluid than FM6 even though both are supposed to be 60 FPS.

I’m sure I will go back and play 6 on occasion but I really should have resisted even at the great price. I just have too much in my backlog and have to stop doing that.

Idk, there where tons of recent reviews of the G920 and everybody said it was great. Even people using it with the same cockpit I got. The Fanatec with the shifter setup is over $1000 and I got mine with the shifter for $260 on black Friday. It's still boxed up though. Was waiting to get my cockpit that will be in this week!
 
Guess my holdout for a sale has ended and I'll buy the Grimlock and Laserbeak Fall of Cybertron avatar items before they disappear.  Least it's Bing credits being used for them.

It's still a great wheel, so don't let me sway you into thinking otherwise. I think at that price you made a good decision. Thinking about it, if this is your first time then it's probably not ideal to toss a grand into it lol. This way you can get into sim racing now and you could always look into upgrades if you decide that's warranted.

Yeah, I am really liking this game, think I just finished 10th Chapter.
It was funny when I first started as I was trying to kill that thing with the chainsaw, didn't see the keys for while lol.

It was a bit annoying and funny in one part where I was turning valves to get rid of the gas, and I find out I need a valve, which I passed earlier a couple of rooms away and could not pick up before.

 
Was looking over the Xbox One X enhanced games list and didn’t realize that The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is listed as coming soon. Would be cool if they timed that update for when it’s GwG.
 
I’d like everyone’s opinion on Fallout:NV. I’ve completed 3 and enjoyed it for the most part but felt like it dragged toward the end. I plan to play 4 at some point because I lived in the Boston area for a bit and am looking forward to that setting even if the story is weaker. Should I play NV if I’m mostly interested in the story elements of the series, or pass on it and skip right to 4? Will I miss any references to NV in 4? There’s a complete edition for sale nearby so I probably wouldn’t buy it from Xbox but thought it still relevant to this thread.

Fallout NV is the best of the modern Fallout games in terms of story. I highly recommend it; I just wish it played as well as 4.

I can second that new Vegas is best of series. Not really NV references in 4, since Bethesda kind of ignores NV.
