Anyone have experience buying used consoles from GameStop? As I mentioned earlier, I snagged that Wii U deal and passed during checkout on the extended warranty. But now I’m wondering if I should have gotten it. Also wondering if they let you get it after the fact like other retailers usually do within a certain time frame.
 
I just typed this up for my Bungie related friends on Facebook, pasting here. 

TL;DR: A large musical piece that was meant to released with Destiny 1, but canceled due to bullshit, has been leaked online.
 

For those not aware, Bungie's former composer Marty O' Donnell, along with his writing partner Michael Salvatori and Paul McCartney (yes, THAT Paul McCartney), wrote a full musical piece that was meant to release alongside the original Destiny 4 years ago. After the shitshow that lead to Bungie firing Marty, they decided to cancel the release.
 
While a large chunk of it had been released through in-game use and bits being used as filler music for live-streams and the like, we were still missing a significant portion. Now, some brave soul managed to get their hands on one of the hundred or so physical copies that exist in the wild, and uploaded it for all to have. It's likely that Bungie/Activision is going to come down hard on this, but we all know that once something is posted online it's there forever. Bungie are aware of this as the leaker was being followed on Twitter by their community manager DeeJ, who stopped following him after the leak was posted. It's hard to say if they'll actually go after him. I don't think they'll want another PR shitstorm on top of everything already going on with Destiny 2, but it's also a very blatantly illegal move that this guy made, with his real name attached and everything.

I'm just glad it's finally out, the cancellation of the original release is probably the shittiest, most petty thing that Bungie/Activision did during whatever turmoil was going on prior to D1's release.

You should be able to go back and buy the warranty if it's within the return period.

 
Thoughts on 0 Day Attack on Earth?

Some good games on the 360 side. Very happy to see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1 and 2 for $10 each. It's about time; those are my favorite CoD games.

The was an in store sign indicating that they were running a deal that all used systems came with a 1 year warranty. Not sure if it ended with the Game Days sale that ended the 24th and/or if it was in store only. Might be worth checking out.

Hmm..interesting. Didn’t see anything about that online but definitely will ask about it instore.
 
How is Enemy Front still $40 base price?

It really depends how you feel about fighting games and the DC Universe. Fighting games aren’t typically my genre but the ones that Neverrealm Studios makes always hook me. But it also helps a lot that I love DC. The story won’t really make much sense if you haven’t played the first game but if you just like the characters and want a good time, I say get it. Plus the loot system is addictive in a good way. Paired with the ever-changing Multiverse challenges, it’s a game that you could play everyday and find something new.

I just bought the Ultimate Edition during the Black Friday sales. At first I was just going to get the basic 20 dollar version but as soon as I heard who was being released for character pack 3 I decided to go all in for the UE. Mind you that I am not really into DC or know much about some of these characters.

I'd say it is very much worth 45 bucks if you are really into fighting games. The gameplay is solid and graphically it's great, although more so on my X. On my S it still looks good but it really shines in 4K with HDR. And surprisingly there is a decent story mode.

There is also plenty of content. Your staple practice, local 2player, and online VS modes. But I really like the Multiverse which contains rotating challenges hourly/daily. These can contain level modifiers to break up the usual gameplay. Also my favorite part is the upgradeable armor pieces that you earn with Mother Boxes. And yes they are loot boxes but I get plenty by playing the game and I don't feel that you need to buy any at all. So basically each armor piece is character specific and alters the look and can contain a performance stat increase. In some modes these stats are negated for fair play, but they still look awesome and are selectable from any character select screen.

OK and lastly, Power Girl. She kicks ass.

I bought the $25 regular version, and really enjoyed the ~4-5 hr long campaign. You do need to know the story from Injustice 1, otherwise you'll be very confused to the state of things, and why certain characters are not in the game. I liked the writing and cutscenes, and mechanics of 2's campaign a lot more than 1.

Most of them go for around $20 but you may get lucky with listing it for more. I doubt anyone on this site will pay the higher end prices. I picked up the collectors edition with statue, skin art book and more for $75 shipped over the summer. Don't know why the code alone goes for nearly half the price some times.

Yea not really looking for cash, more of a trade for something I want deal (i.e. Wolfenstein,Sniper 4 season passes)

Opposite here, I gave in and bought both Transformers. Have Devastation on PS4, but I never turn that on so might as well get it for the machine I play.

i'm considering picking up Fallout 3 and New Vegas with all the DLC

Fallout 4 was my first Fallout game and I loved it, are these games still good after playing Fallout 4 or will they feel really dated?

They will feel a little dated. But if you are looking for more time in the Fallout universe, I highly suggest them. At least in NV, your choices have a little more weight then 4.
 
It depends what you like about FO4. If you liked it as a shooter that happened to have a lot of looting, you might not like the older ones as much. Both NV and 3 are actually RPGs, while 4 was dumbed down so much due to it's voiced protagonist that it's basically a shooter with RPG elements. If you liked the exploration aspect of 4 the most, then 3 is just as good in this regard if not better, and NV is about on par with it.

On all other aspects, the few thing I think 4 has that are really good don't necessarily compare easily to the previous games:

-Settlement building is pretty cool if you're into it, and give you a use for the junk that you end up ignoring in 3 and NV

-Companions in 4 are fairly good. Better than 3, worse than NV.

-Far Harbor is good. Better than most of 3's Add-Ons, though I think NV's DLCs as a whole were stronger.

-Core gameplay, the shooting is better than the trash feel of 3 and the barely serviceable nature of NV.

As far as feeling dated, this is pretty standard for Bethesda, I'd say they're behind the times even at launch in most regards. Even looking back at Skyrim Special Edition, you can see just how dated it looks and feels in a lot of respects. I think it's pretty easy to get past, other than the bad gunplay in FO3 basically necessitating either VATS or a melee build. New Vegas is my favorite, and I think the writing and great handling of the various factions will carry you a long way, even if the Mojave isn't as jam packed with places to explore as the Captial Wasteland is.

 
Agree what with six min whistle said I thoroughly enjoyed 3 and NV and I just started 4 on ps4 and I immediately noticed a change in the VATS system. It's still there but it does not feel like the VATS from 3 or NV and instead it relies more heavily on aim and shoot but still 4 has improved a lot over graphics from 3 and NV so that's a plus.

I didn't play Fallout 3 until 2015. Graphically it has not aged very well, it is a pretty ugly game. It also takes a little while to get started. But it's such a good game that once you are a few hours and you will not care about either of those things. so yes, I think it is still very much worth playing.

I'm in the same boat. I played FO3 less than a year before 4 came out and enjoyed it very much. It didn't look amazing but after a while it didn't really matter. In regard to playing it after playing 4, I played Oblivion after playing Skyrim and thought it was fine. It's not exactly the same as a whole generation jump but I thought Skyrim looked and played better than Oblivion but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. I didn't sink as much into it as Skyrim, but I didn't regret playing and had fun while getting all the achievements.
