To fully answer your question, as if my post above wasn’t enough - the answer is both.

You want to make sure in the Xbox settings you are outputting 4k if it will allow it (can’t recall if it will on 1080p tv, but it’s possible to have it set to 1080p on a 4k tv, no good).

Then the games sometimes have their own unique additional settings if they are 1X enhanced.

Okay. So I think I maxed out my 4k tv settings in the tv options (have brightness, contrast, gamma, etc. adjusted HDR10 is on) and I adjusted the settings in the Xbox video settings: 10 bit color depth (my tv's max), 4:2:2 (again my tv's max), etc.

So now I need to check some of my in game settings. Sounds like Tomb Raider may be a good place to start.

Done with Life is Strange: Before the Storm. Damn. The 3 episodes give so much context, weight and emotions to Chloe's character and why she's obsessed with fingding another character in the first game and justifies her reaction when she does.

Don't how Vampyre will turn out (Dontnod haa been radio silent for a while. And for a game coming in "early 2018", may not be a good sign). But I wish I'd have Max's time manipulating powers in order to play the sequel.
 
Completed TA's Day 11 thanks to Lego Jurassic World and then starting 3 games for the first time in Rare Replay.  Now to plan for Day 12.  I think I may do this hopping between other unplayed Lego games.  I've got Marvel Super Heros, Avengers, Force Awakens and the Hobbit.

Signed up for the GTASC for the first time, and wrapping those up in January will help me out in the early part of the year.

 
Reminder that the Transformer and Korra games getting delisted are counting down to six hours from now and not Monday night like the usual sales.  I'm gonna pass on all of them.  Not sure about Sword Coast Legends since I got it.

i loved Life is Strange but i couldn't wait for Before the Storm to be over

 
Well, didn't take long to fuck that up.  First achievement in Lego Marvel Super Heroes was 1.00, and the first in Lego Hobbit was 1.01.  Got a second achievement in Marvel Super Heroes with a 1.04.  Skipping Hobbit, off to Avengers (1.05).

 
GTA is having a bonus sale on shark cards. Any card will be matched 150% till Jan 3rd. If you get the largest card 8 mil will turn into 20 mil for $85.

The games does a feel a bit more Telltale-ish due to the absence of the time manipulation powers you had in the first LIS. And it can be a tad angsty at times, but all in all, I loved it.

Maybe the fact that I can relate with Chloe in one aspect made me love/like it more than others

Losing my mother last year in a similar way she loses her dad. Though I wish I could "see" and "talk" to my mom the way Chloe does with her dad in BTS. Oh well. Sorry guys, the Holidays still get me.

Well Infinite Warfare is finished. The campaign was stupidly overly melodramatic and characters were non existent, but it was fun kneeing people in the face in space and I personally enjoy Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, but a strange satisfaction in hunting him down in the game. Also Conor McGregor is in the game like for legit no reason. Like here he is punching some people in the face for Jon Snow and not saying a word AND NEVER SPOKEN OF AGAIN.

 
Reviews for the remasters say they're fine, but aren't significant upgrades, especially for Darksiders 2. $10 is a great price for the bundle, but if you already have the 360 games, I don't know if it's worth it.

 
I played deathinitive edition and warmaster edition all the way through and really didn't notice much, if you have the 360 versions from GwG probably not worth it unless you want to double up on achievements

 
You guys and gals are wrong I just 1000gs darksiders war mastered edition and there a big difference in graphics over the x360 version and the frame rate is at 30 on x1.Took me 22 hours to 100% it and well worth it.
 
Anyone know how the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games work on the XBOX One X. I know they are not enhanced but on the ps4 pro they were not enhanced but with boost mode they just worked better. DId the same happen on the xbox one x?

Looking at my game collection and all that I have to still play and yet to play, I cherish the few times when I look at a game with moderate to good scores and say "naw, I'm good!"

my parents old 2600's controllers broke as well but I was able to just plug in a Sega genesis controller and it worked perfectly. D pad controls and B button fires. Genesis controllers are a bit easier to find in working condition anymore
 
Oh finally a daily deal I can buy!

I got it because while I already bought DS2, I have yet to see DS1 for $10 or less on the X1. 

Both games are also getting X treatment sometime next year.

What kind of BS marketing is this? They are totally using the cover of the 3rd game in the collection. Such BS.

Totally loved the first two games and yes there is a huge difference in the X1 and PC versions vs the 360 at least where warmastered is concerned. .

Would you suggest playing the life is strange games in release order or is it better to play the prequel first?

That's not so bad. I skipped from 1.01 to 1.34 due to a stupid mistake and unlocking a misc achievement before the next story related one in Alan Wake. Added like two more days to my completion...

Completed Day 12.  My MVP was Lego Jurassic World.  All of the Day 8 and 9 achievements, 8 of 11 on Day 11, 2 for Day 10 and 3 for Day 12.  30 achievements of the 77 required for Days 2 through 12.  Raiden V edged Rare Replay for 2nd place, 8 to 7.

Wasn't sure what would happen if 2 achievements would've popped in the same game.  Was planning to start Battletoads Arcade in Rare Replay, but that would've popped the Battletoads sampler achievement for me as well.  It's not covered in the OP of the discussion on TA, and I haven't read far enough into the thread to see if it would just ignore the lower ratio one or reset the day's progress.  Glad I caught it and popped different stuff rather than potentially finding out the hard way.

Also glad I noticed you had to click the "Start Challenge" button for Day 12 before I starting popping achievements.  Now for Jingle Juvies in the next 2 days ...

 
I just watched the netflix original American Vandal and its hilarious when how much better it writes teen characters than Life is Strange, at point I forgot I was watching fiction

you can pop 2 in the same game just wont count towards the progress, only the first with a ratio higher than your last

If you need help with Jingle Juvies, I would help out, already earned both Skins for Horde and the 2 from Snowball Fight =) (Got 115 kills because some were melee deaths in the first few games xp shots with the snowshot had to be a lot more accurate since no splosion damage =P )

I'd say to wait until the bonus episode comes out. The prequel's third episode ends approximately a year or two before the events of the first game unfold. There's a specific plot point that's heavily prominent yet never shown in the first game that I've got a feeling will be addressed in the bonus episode. If that happens, then it would be better to play the original, then the prequel.

But as it is right now, without the bonus episode, then playing the prequel first would even make sense.

What are the Darksiders games like? Type of gameplay? Similar games? Have some Xbox credit that is gonna expire and this is the first thing on sale that’s caught my eye.

If Zelda OoT(gameplay) God of War(gameplay), & Diablo(tone/atmosphere) had a baby, it would be Darksiders. It’s good but not nearly as good as the games that inspired it. Definitely worth $10 for both games tho.
 
Really, the first game is more like Zelda. The second one far more hack n slash God of War type with less puzzles and other Zelda-y stuff.
 
Even after giving it three chances, I never could get interested in Life is Strange. Just didn’t care about any of the characters.
 
I couldn't pass on the Darksiders deal.  I didn't love DS1, so I didn't finish it but DS2 was really good and I always regretted not finishing it.  For $10 for both remastered versions?  That's a really good deal.  ONTO THE BACKLOG!

 
I kinda gave up on the achievements challenge. I only need 2 more story achievements, but to get those and then the entire day 12 challenge in like 12 hours, ehhh. Just got distracted with Christmas and got back into the Division. Oh well.
