Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I bought Batman Return to Arkham and might want to buy Arkham Knight before the sale closes, and now I see the Arkham Knight season pass is on sale too. Does anyone know if this is worthy dlc at this point or would i be set with the game alone?

I'm hoping Morrowind gets some of the tweaks that Oblivion gets on the One X, though who knows if it's possible technologically. Oblivion actually got a few extra effects from the PC version like grass blowing and the like.

I also really hope these aren't the only 4 games. I'd guess not and these just went up early on accident. The only way it would be acceptable to put out four after all this time is if they are switching to monthly updates.

It's possible maybe if the assets are there, Ninja Gaiden and Psychonauts look pretty great on the Xbox One X

I don't think these are all the games so don't dash your dreams yet. Though Burnout 3 would probably have an uphill battle due to the licensed music.

Been waiting for F1 2017 to drop below $20 on console. I’ll probably pick that up.

i suspect license expiration can't keep MS from making a game BC. It would prevent MS from selling the game, though. Maybe I don't know enough about emulation...or maybe they have figured out how to get the xbox one to play games without emulation. It's all x86-based anyway, right? this is why i'm allowing myself to be hopeful about the teaser when they're using the word EVERYTHING.

May have to play through Dirt 4 again after doing most of it on PS4 when it first came out. I'm curious about WRC 7 but I don't think there are any modes with more than one car on the screen so I think a replay of Dirt would be preferred.
Did you play Dirt Rally? I hear that Dirt 4 had much of the content of that game in it, so not all new stuff for someone coming from Dirt Rally. Do you know how true that is, or to what extent if true? I don't remember if I read that at a gaming site or heard from a friend (though a gaming site nowadays is about as reliable as randoms you meet on XBL). I can't afford it anyway, but if I could somehow, I'd be mad if the only new rally stuff was the stuff from Dirt Rally.

I have not so I can't compare. I have game pass for a while longer and could try it that way but my data cap makes me more selective than I want to be with what I download. I will say Dirt 4 is fantastic though.

I think that's the issue though. With the majority of 360 BC and all OG BC, you can purchase the game digitally. We do know they are negotiating some kind of rights with these as they have said as much. I think the focus is some kind of distribution deal but I could see other things factoring in.

I figure I’d they’re still selling it on Xbox 360 via BC, it may still have a shot.
That said, I didn't realize it was being sold still, so it probably does have a pretty good shot, especially with it being EA.

Dirt Rally and 4 share a lot of the same rally cars, but they have different stages. I think they share Wales and Finland, but Rally has Monaco and Greece, while 4 has some new stages.

Just hope It's more then 4 games.

So Resetera pointed out games already on there won't show up. So here's some other possibilities for games already available that won't show the 4/10 date.

isn't the negotiating only necessary because BC is done through emulation and requires altering game code and therefore requires publisher consent? imagine they created a way to emulate without altering game code. MS may have decided now is the time to really increase the value of their console by unlocking full BC for OG games. the genius of it is there is no loss in sales for anyone. this is two generations ago, so nobody has an excuse to get upset about it.

EDIT: or i just have too much optimism and they're just adding achievements to OG games that are currently or soon to be available as BC titles.

BC game announcements definitely coming tomorrow. Morrowind just went up on the store.
http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Morrowind/66acd000-77fe-1000-9115-d802425307f9

Edit: Apparently more are up too.

Destroy All Humans, MX Unleashed, and Full Spectrum Warrior
Love full spectrum warrior. I missed the sequel, as I wasn't able to game around that time, but I hear it was below average for fans of the original.

Question: is Dead Space ignition on 360 available in a physical version? I swore i owned the digital version, but it wanted to charge me for the BC version. I just checked my achievements to make sure & i have achievements for it. I thought it was only available digitally, which would mean I had to have bought it if that's the case. Not a huge issue, but there's a few games that seem to want me to buy them, that I have achievements for, that I thought were only digital. I have never shared my 360 with anyone or had another account on it, so just trying to figure out why my memory is so horrible, or why I'm getting shafted.

I understand the data cap crap. Not sure that you'd be able to tell since Dirt Rally takes a while before you can even guess how much content it has, since much of it is locked until you meet certain qualifications, buy certain cars (which takes a while on it's own, not to mention the difficulty that would have you repeating the same race lots of times). The difficulty, or accessibility is what I hear is the main difference, so I'd love to try it, but I'll wait to find out if I've already played half the content.

Dirt Rally and 4 share a lot of the same rally cars, but they have different stages. I think they share Wales and Finland, but Rally has Monaco and Greece, while 4 has some new stages.
Just to expand on this, they share a couple of locations which contain the same terrain types, but the actual tracks are different.

Games left:

Crash Wrath of Cortex - Activision, could be positively or negatively affected by Crash Trilogy HD

Fable 1 - wasted slot, Fable Anniversary

Indigo Prophecy - previous version of Atari published this, has a PS4 exclusive remaster developed by Sony.

Halo Combat Evolved - Wasted slot, Halo: Anniversary AND MCC

Burnout 3 Takedown - Published by EA, want EA Access material

Metal Arms - Vivendi, now part of Activision. Dead IP, so maybe.

Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - Ubisoft, good chance, lots of BC support.

Guilty Gear XX Reload - This was published by what is now Sega, though modern GG games are published by Aksys Games. Don't know.

Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning - Activision, could be positively or negatively affected by Spyro Trilogy HD

Jade Empire - Published by EA, want EA Access material

Zapper: One Wicked Cricket - Published by what is now Atari. Who knows...

Raze's Hell - Majesco, sames publisher as Bloodrayne 2

Sega Soccer Slam - Sega, pretty good about BC but I don't think this game has much of a following.

Blowout - Majesco, same publisher as Bloodrayne 2

Max Payne 1 - Rockstar, have supported BC well with their titles so far.

Max Payne 2 - Rockstar, have supported BC well with their titles so far.
Added thoughts based on publisher/developers history.

isn't the negotiating only necessary because BC is done through emulation and requires altering game code and therefore requires publisher consent? imagine they created a way to emulate without altering game code. I don't think they do have to alter game code. That's only done with the X enhanced 360 titles. Simply increasing resolution and turning on V-sync for a game can be done entirely through emulation. Check out the wizardry that can be preformed on GameCube and Wii games with Dolphin for an example from a normal people rather than a giant company like MS. I'd guess it's more about keeping good relationships with the various publisher and developers, and to avoid potential pitfalls. The original terms of release were intended for the console at the time, not some voodoo tech like this down the future. Complete library support would also include games that had legal problems like Too Human and Kingdoms of Amular. It's an issue that didn't crop up with past backwards compatibility support because they either included the original hardware required in the consoles themselves (Nintendo), or a huge digital library wasn't available (launch PS3).

As for emulation itself, the stuff that takes time for Xbox is tweaking the emulation software for each individual title so they run as well as, if not better than, the original hardware. This didn't seem to be the case at first since you had stuff like Halo Reach that ran like shit, but they've turned that around now. The attempted all-in-one solution didn't work super well back on the 360, with a lot of games having a bunch of emulation errors, like the KoTOR games being nearly unplayable.

Does anyone here have any idea on what Microsoft's policy on duplicate games? I previously had Lords of the Fallen from GWG, but then I bought the Complete Edition (not knowing I already had the game). Could I have it refunded?

Owlboy was totally worth the wait. What a charming game....and with the 20% launch discount, I can say I waited until it was on sale.

Opinions on the two Dragon Age Origins DLCs? $3.49 seems like a good price for each.
It ain't bad, I only have two DLCs myself (Return to Ostagar and Warden's Peak - needed these to be in the game as it ruined my immersion for the main story without them, the others not that much). But I was really hoping they'd get Awakening for sale.

Oh man, have like 30 tabs of stuff I opened last week to decide on and totally forgot about. I'm sure half of it is 360 stuff I just want to go BC so I can never play.

Also more games need to be X enhanced, would make these decisions easier!

NeuroVoider is also really fun if you like games like Enter the Grungeon. Challenging rogue like dual stick shooter with RPG elements.

Ignition was available originally as a pre-order bonus for Dead Space 2. It's digital only. I'd recommend steering clear of it if you have to re-buy it. It's not really fun at all, just a bunch of the same mini-games over and over.

I have played both games. Both are really good racing with eye candy visuals. Dirt rally is codemasters racing on hardcore mode compared to dirt 4 lol.
By that I mean Rally is less forgiving and will punish you more for going off the path. Still fun racing pikes peak, but I have put more time into dirt 4.
There's a good bit of content to play in dirt4. Free roaming, dirt fish challenges, career mode, and the rest I can't remember.
I'm actually going to get it again on Xbox so I can join my friends. I have the ps4 disc.
Does that help any?

I have yet to play wrc7 , and with the latest 2 dirt games. Should I bother getting wrc ?
I haven't heard a lot of good things from previous editions.

I bought Batman Return to Arkham and might want to buy Arkham Knight before the sale closes, and now I see the Arkham Knight season pass is on sale too. Does anyone know if this is worthy dlc at this point or would i be set with the game alone?
I picked up the Premium Edition last time it was on sale - converted my standard physical copy to digital premium. Of course its in my backlog, but I can tell you a lot of the included skins are currently free. The main reason I wanted to add on the season pass was te Harley Quinn Story Pack. There also seem to be related story packs for several other batman characters - Catwoman, Red Hood, Nightwing, Robin, and Batgirl.

I think it's worth it for the extra content. I usually ask myself if the cost would be worth the entertainment time I get out of it.

My final haul from the Spring sale

Titanfall 2 Ultimate Edition

Spec Ops: The Line

Project Cars GOTY

Dishonored (converted from physical to digital)

Every other game I was interested in I had already bought or picked up through PS+ on PS4, lol.

Extinction is getting trounced. Looked like an Attack on Titan without the naked weirdness. But apparently without being a good game either.

Hmm, lots of DLC/SP content on sale but pretty much all at the same or higher price than we have seen before.

For example, Jack the Ripper DLC has been as low as $6 and Watch Dogs SP has been down to $8 in the past.

Both of these have been/will be GWG though so I guess they expect us to pay a bit more since we got the base game for free?

Just Watch Dogs SP for me since that hasn't been on sale in over a year and probably won't drop lower again for some time, if ever.

Edit: Also, store parser is picking a bunch of these up as price drops rather than sale items. Is there a way for store parser to tell the difference based on how MS codes it? I'm just curious because if so then I may hold off on the Bioshock Infinite SP to see if it goes on sale from the new $10 price point...

Opinions on the two Dragon Age Origins DLCs? $3.49 seems like a good price for each.
Side note: Dragon Age 2 had its online User Agreement changed as of February 22nd 2018. (just logged on)

I don't know if EA is revisiting its agreements for all of its online games....or will backward compatibility finally be a thing.

You're comparing the single Ripper dlc to the SP sale price? The full season pass is on sale for $9.90, that to me is a good price, especially since the game is mine for free in a few days.

Ooh. I just picked up a copy of dragon age 2 less than a week ago.

Oh, you're right. I did that inadvertently. But is the other content really worth an additional $4?
