Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Just finished Bound by Flame a day before it leaves Gamepass. It was good but not a game I want to play again.
If you enjoyed it, the developer's next game, Technomancer, was just added to Game Pass. The combat is almost the same, but the story isn't as interesting in a generic sci-fi setting.

Kinda sounds like the new Fallout will be an online survival game? Oh boy, MGS Survival part 2...yuck.
I'm willing to give it chance. Metal Gear Survive wasn't bad solely because it was survival, it was a LOT of factors like Konami being shit in general now, shit microtransaction, but the biggest blow was the large loss of staff since Kojima took a lot of the top talent with him when he left.

The thing that has me concerned is the team behind Fallout 76. They said co-developed by the core team and former Battlecry devs (now Bethesda Austin). I guarantee 90% or more of this game is being made by this new studio. This isn't automatically bad, but Battlecry was cancelled and this team have never released anything. Their only release credit is "helping id Software with Doom's post-launch DLC" in an unknown capacity.

https://www.gamereactor.eu/news/443533/BattleCry+devs+now+working+with+id+on+Doom+multiplayer/

Bethesda Game Studios generally only works full force on one game, which is likely the long rumored Starfield. They said last year they have two major games coming before Elder Scrolls VI is really going to be underway, so these two together are probably what he was referring to. I'd guess to them this is another side project with a smaller team overseeing the Austin studio. Probably a lot like the Mass Effect Andromeda setup with "Bioware" Montreal, though hopefully done well.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/02/18/skyrim-fallout-4-director-todd-howard-offers-update-on-bethesda-games-studios-current-projects

I hope the game is good, and I don't really have any expectations for what this could be. I wasn't expecting another real Fallout game for a LONG time since Obsidian doesn't seem like they're going to be given the chance again, and that's the only outside studio I see making sense. If it is like really like Rust or whatever as the rumors say, the settlement building mechanics from 4 will make a lot of sense.

The only other issue I could see is the engine. It looks like the many of the same exact assets as FO4 in the trailer, which probably means it's still on the Creation Engine, which is basically an upgraded Gamebryo. The only modern multiplayer game I can find that used it was Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - First Assault Online, which seemed to be fine from a technical standpoint so I guess it's not an issue.

Level your Gamerscore by 1000 real quick and you will get 2 more gems. I suggest playing Korgan or the campaign of Titanfall 2.
Does this mean pass the next 1000 mark in your Gamerscore, as in you get 2 points for every 1000 GS you cross like passing Go in Monopoly? Asking because I'm at 96 gems myself after redeeming two 5,000 credit rewards.

I don't contribute much to this forum, but I lurk everyday. Id like to give back so keeping with the recent theme of giveaways, I'll do one as well. I have a code for fallout shelter lunchboxes that I'll give to random person who likes this post. I'll announce the winner around 5pm eastern.

You will need to earn 2000 achievement points in games (BY TODAY) to get 4 more gems.

This has been an issue for at least a month now if not longer. This seems to happen every so often with the game icons not showing on the 360. It always perplexes me that the 360 needs to download icons for games all the time. Why can't the 360 cache/include those images locally like every other system does? I think Nintendo might actually be ahead of Microsoft in this technology. It has no bearing on the games working, but it makes the system seem incredibly broken.

All of the icons are working on the Xbox One though. So at least they fixed the glitch there. I guess the 360 is end of life now and MS does not care about fixing these annoyances?
Appreciate the response. And I can echo that statement.... Xbox one is good... Wish they would still fix the 360 issues. There was a system update too recently... I think the first in like 2 years and I thought for sure that would fix it, but nope. Hopefully they roll something out soon. Just seems so ridiculous and there is su h a huge base that still has 360. Thanks again for the response.

Saw that 360 update recently. I think it was solely for the updated European GDPR (General Data Protection) and no real system fixes.

Note that both the Xbox and Xbox 360 versions of San Andreas will be BC but it’ll download the 360 version regardless of which one you own. Think that’s the first time we’ve seen that.

I also enjoyed Table Tennis. Have to see if I still have it. Wasn’t there a combo disc with that and some other game? Wonder if it will work.

Everyone's talking about getting to 100 gems but isn't the gem vault available until June 15? Is it that you can spend them until then but not earn any more after today?

2/3 for me. And still I've never touched a GTA game.
Love Midnight Club, have all 3 of these, now they need to add NFS U2 and Juiced. Also, DLC for MC is a little spendy, might want to find complete collection (Platinum) for 7.99/9.99 at GS right now, see if the BC inflation hits. Also, BB has Platinum for 15.99 GCU/19.99.

Yes. Earn through 5/31/18 8 pm EDT (I think). Some users might still earn points based on spend rebate too which would mean one more space bucks deposit. And possibly a higher rebate level you get grandfathered in for ... temporarily.

Probably for music license reasons? I do own the 360 version and I heard it was a port of the mobile version lol.

Sadly I traded in Table Tennis years ago but I had a lot of fun with it.

Yeah I have the 360 GTA San Andreas and something seemed off about it, that would make some sense. Gives me hope we'll still get Max Payne 3 with maybe an Xbox One X enhancement someday. Although that could have some musical issues too depending on the deal Rockstar made.

Now that is cool, I'm really impressed with Rockstar's support for old games (GTA4 could have just as easily been delisted). This also bodes well for Max Payne 3 given the support for the program.

I'm a bit surprised they'd announce another game and not take a year off. I figured they'd learned their lesson about burning everyone out with yearly releases and games that weren't as polished.
I recall them saying something to that effect, but if there is anyone out there who has to make money for their shareholders right now it would be Ubisoft. Tencent will want a return on their investment.

Especially since they also released a remaster (Rogue) earlier this year. Three AC games in a 12 month period is not a good way to show that you learned from previous mistakes (as they've been saying).

Nope, the industry doesn't learn lessons about what happened prior to a release that might have helped sales - they just see that Assassin's Creed is popular again, time to milk it!

They will probably try to justify/spin it by saying the hard work was developing the engine, and they put the "same" amount of time into the story elements.

It's bad if you own the OG Xbox version because the 360 version is missing tons of good music.

Depends on which Ubisoft team works on it. There are at least two internal studios that produce main line Assassin's Creed releases. Unity was Montreal, Syndicate was Quebec, Origins was Montreal. (Sofia made Rogue and Liberation, so off chance they get a shot at the main line game.)

So if someone other than Montreal is making the next one, they could have also received an extra year on their development calendar.

A documentary on Bethesda Game Studios coming June 5th, and a making of Fallout 76 coming June 12th. Maybe this means BGS are more involved with the game than I thought, maybe they beefed up the core studio for two major projects at once, or possibly sent some personnel to the new studio. The making of is coming after Bethesda's E3 conference so we'll probably have a pretty good idea of what exactly 76 is.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDPzljStqkw

If you haven't checked out Noclip yet, these documentaries are great. I'm sure I've linked some of the past ones here before. He's done Doom (2016), Warframe, CD Projekt Red/Witcher, Final Fantasy XIV, Horizon Zero Dawn, Rocket League, and more.

I enjoyed the games that Quebec and Sofia did, so if they had more than the year to work on it I'd be a bit less worried. Quebec is trying to work on For Honor having long legs like R6: Siege, so I'd be a bit surprised if they were the main developer on a new AC game. They have so many studios though that they could have some of them working on it for two years, then have one of the larger ones working on it for a year and put their location as the developer.

Perhaps I don't understand how the GTA soundtrack works. Isn't the soundtrack on the disc? So is the problem that bc games just use the physical disc as a passkey to download the game, but the download wouldn't have the original soundtrack because of licensing? But in that case you're okay if you play the game from disc on the original system? Or am I way off track?

That sounds right based on the educated guesses I've made about how BC works (the digital translation of the games rather than true emulation of the original code).

The making of is coming after Bethesda's E3 conference so we'll probably have a pretty good idea of what exactly 76 is.

I will have to check them out when they release.

I was holding on to my San Andreas disc hoping I would get to play it again, and not that bad mobile port.

I grabbed a copy of Table Tennis at my local GameStop for $3 before Pro discount.  It will probably get marked up to $15 tomorrow because of the BC tax.

Xbl myvip program closes in 4 mins, silly slow Xbox just deposited my last batch of 150 gems into the unclaimed area sometime within the last hour, ugh the 10 day lag time was horrendous...glad I got to claim them before it was too late!
