That is some massive BS though. I'm sure the Lambant skins will be available later on via random loot boxes, but still. I'm sick of all this random skin crap. I hope MS/The Coalition learns their lesson and does away with those things come Gears 5 release next year.

Yeah, this is trash. If they are going to switch to direct purchase fine, but the RNG paid lootbox shit needs to go if that's the model. Having both feels like double dipping, and is really insulting if you can't unlock them with scrap or gold either. Even if it's a ton of in-game resources, they should still be available. I guess they're just going to try and milk the cow dry before Gears 5 since they're done making new maps.

I wonder why Forza 7 removed their lootboxes while Gears kept them and shoveled more shit on top?

So my question is if I can have someone on here go into NHL 18 and go into player customization and check if a black beard flashes green and white beard flashes purple.

I hope it’ll be back on sale and I’ll get it in a couple months. I hope I luck out on the panel lottery for these budget TVs tho.

I did but I figured I would luck out here a little bit more since I know there is a couple of hockey fans on here and I know some have the TCL 6 series. I feel like I lucked out with the panel. The banding is very minimal (trust me, I have seen bad banding and mine does not have it) The colors pop and are bright. NHL 18 is the only game this issue pops up in.

Yeah, it’s not immediately noticeable but I do see a bit of the flashing green and purple that you are referring to. I’m betting it’s the game itself. Only time I’ve seen that in any game at all so sure it isn’t some kind of defect in the TCL.

It has been updating really quickly for me, within about 24hrs for both Forza Horizon 1 and 3, since I've been playing both of those. Just completed the last bucket list item for Forza Horizon 3 last night and it already shows. Those perfect passes on Horizon 1 is going to take forever, I'm like 250/500 and it seems to only count ones in races.

As for DLC counting, it definitely counts for achievements, but not for all other items. Like the bucket list in Horizon 3 only counted the base game ones, not the DLC ones towards the total. I'm kinda annoyed that Forza 7 didn't have DLC packs that added achievements since getting the rewards completed is basically impossible without it.

I found this post on the FH1 forums with an easy solution for the Perfect Passes. Took me maybe 30-60 minutes spread out over a couple of days. You do not need to complete the race as the original poster implies, just get the 7 passes to register, rewind, rinse and repeat. You can track your progress while in the race through your in game stats.

OMFG! I haven't been able to play that game since I bought it. I'm a huge fan of both previous games, and was really psyched to play as GIJoe & Cobra. After a two day TS bender, I am happy to report that the game is just as difficult and satisfying as the originals. Unfortunetely, I switched up how I share games with my brother and will need to wait for another sale to pick it up for my nephew. Hopefully before his birthday next month. :)


Also, Bionic Commando Rearmed 1 finally went on sale and it's an all time low! It has actually been on sale a couple times this year and flew under my radar, but I got you this time you sonuva..! *edit* You really are a SOB, because only the inferior sequel is BC!


I also decided to bite on the Capcom Arcade Cabinet All-in-One pack, as for some reason they always put the dlc on sale ahead of the base "game." Hopefully that holds true and the cabinet itself is a buck next week.

I just told it no when it asked still loaded fine, game is kind of a crappy mobile port that takes away the fun of Paperboy with the dumb lane switching

 
I need some help deciding on probably buying one of the TCL TVs, the 55" 5 Series is on sale for $399 at BB on the Labor Day sale, the 55" 6 Series is $599 (not on sale of course) is it really worth the extra $200 for the newer model? or am I missing too much and probably just wait for a sale on the 6 Series? Got an X and a Pro but have not been taking full advantage since I don't have a 4K TV yet. I know plenty of people here have the 5 and the 6 series so any input would be appreciated, Thanks!

I don't own them, but the 5 has gotten such good reviews I can't imagine the extra $200 spent would really be worth it.

I have the 5 series and for $399 it's a steal. Wish I had another room to put another TV in so I could buy another.

Yeah in gameplay you don't notice it but in the player editor it is pretty apparent on the two TCL's I have owned. Not a major deal but it annoys me haha.
 
I actually pre-ordered The VideoKid with some XBL credit I had burning a hole in my digital pocket. It's alright. I haven't played a console Paperboy clone, or any Paperboy in general in awhile so it seemed enticing, and the 80's references are cool. Though it has a Crossy Road feel to it though which I'm not a fan of (probably made by the same people, I can't be bothered to look it up). It has to be a mobile port.

The lack of achievements is unexpected and kind of a bummer.

The death of Amazon and Best Buy preorder discounts seems to be the birth of a digital only gaming future for me. I got my last bit of preorders in on Amazon except for how they put a lot out of stock until the discount went away and then they magically came back in stock for preorder. My GCU runs out in November but then I can't see why I would ever buy a physical game again. With a flow of $5 gift cards from Bing plus constantly finding Xbox credit for 10-20% off, you never have to pay full price for a digital game.

It's a weird feeling, kind of sad, although I'll still be buying all my Nintendo games physically. They have a crappy online store and no chance of BC in the future so I'd rather have carts.

I picked up the 5 over 6 a month or two back to save a couple hundred. I dont regret it.

The negatives I've had, which are just minor annoyances:
1. Netflix, and it happened a couple times on hellblade, on start up will some times be washed out. Going back to the home screen and then back into Netflix fixes the colors. No app restart was necessary.

2. It will randomly choose when it will let the xbox control it. It's supposed to turn on when I turn the xbox on but it only does it maybe 10% of the time.

3. Randomly while switching between games or apps the screen will turn green, mostly when going to the home screen. I can still see a hint of the image in white outlines. Going to the home screen on the TV (not xbox home screen) and back to the xbox input fixes this.

I think there's a work around with turning HDR on/off when in a game/app that prevents some of these but I'd rather have to deal with these every once in a while than constantly turning HDR on and off. I've also heard putting the xbox on a different input besides 1 helps, but haven't tried that yet.
 
I have the same TV and have never noticed this. I have an Xbox S connected to it. Maybe I got lucky.

Alright CAGers, I need some help here.  I've been going back and forth trying to figure out the best deal, and just can't decide.  My gold expires at the end of next month, but my gamepass expires at the end of October, so I've been trying to find a way to keep them together.  Here's my debate: do I spend Bing points on my wife's account to gift myself a month of gold, or do I cancel my subscription now and then do the $2 for 2 months deal?  What makes the most sense from a CAG perspective?

 
I've never gotten a good deal on an actual good tv on Black Friday. The TV's that go on sale on Black Friday are usually hot garbage TVs that no one wants.

Best time for TV shopping is Superbowl weekend.

Apparently the developer says it is supposed to have achievements. They're working with Microsoft to see what happened there.

That's a stupid move on 2K's part, they should have the achievements for it. Especially since their advertising for 2K19 seems to be geared more toward Xbox One than PS4. I mean they have a One S 1TB system bundle for it for crying out loud.
