Remember that day when Fallout 4 was stupid cheap and we all got $10 in credit because they messed up?

In the Fallout 4 sale page, it's showing up as "Owned" after they deactivated the game after the bad price.

Wonder if it will work...

I have this same setup. Also try holding the power button down until it powers off completely, about ten seconds and power it back on.

Did you already enable the enhanced HDMI mode from the TV menu to enable HDR?

Might be a silly suggestion, but is it a one way cable? I once had an HDMI cable that was specifically labelled with one end to be plugged in to the source and the other had to go to the tv. I forgot about it and plugged it in reverse one time and it took awhile for me to realize the issue as I troubleshot all sorts of other options first.

It's free to play this weekend. Never played any of the repeat free to play weekends so how do those show up if uninstalled after the first one? Would imagine something similar

Not sure. The DLC that was download at that time is labeled "Installed," but the game was "Owned"
 
Platformer Celeste got a 10/10 from IGN. Looks really good and hard as balls in a Super Meat Boy kind of way. May have to splurge and get it. Assuming it’ll be out around 11.
 
Ok, so I called Sony support and we ran a full diagnostic, they said the shit is borked. i'm not so sure about that. I think I'm doing something wrong. As far as I know, you just plug in one end of the HDMI cord to "out to TV" on the X console, and the other end to Input 2 or 3, and you should get a picture, right? I don't want to box up this big ass shit, send it off, wait another 2 days to get a new TV when it could be just a simple thing I'm overlooking on my end.

Have you tried another HDMI cable? Will anything work on input 2 (cable box, DVD player,etc)? From what you said it doesn’t sound like you’re using a receiver setup?

I had problems initially using a receiver that wasn’t able to pass 4K (Yes, big dummy). Also had a problem with a bad HDMI cable with a Samsung. And...had another problem using a sound bar and the ARC input that didn’t work.

Also saw that 3-month game pass thing but also doesn’t seem to give me any deal when I click it. Just gives me the option to extend for a month for $9.99 (still have until February 4 on my $1 month).

I am not sure what type of HDMI cord you have but I know some can only go 1 way, as in 1 end is for TV and 1 end is for Device. If this is the case it should say something on the connection or something. I had a problem with a HDMI cable not working and later found out 1 end had source on it the other had TV.

 
Since there’s no NDA on the current Sea of Thieves beta, I just gotta say I’m not so sure about this game. I mean it seems like it could be decent but you’re kinda just left to wonder what the fuck are we supposed to do?

On some quest but there’s no guidance or anything. There was just four of us sitting around looking at each other (none of us were using a mike). No tutorial. No voice overs.

While I'm also worried about the potential lack of content, I would say none of you using mics is your biggest problem. There's a heavy reliance on communication in your crew. Solving riddles, lowering/raising anchors and sails, using maps, etc. Voice communication is pretty much a necessity in this game.

As soon as I saw 4 ppl playing coop with talking through tasks they needed to do I already knew it wasn't for me. I play Overwatch and used to play Smite, both alone 99% of the time without a mic. It seems like that would not be the way to play Sea of Thieves so they left me out of the target demographic. I like coop games but I need to be able to just jump in with strangers I don't need to talk to and have fun still.

Picked up Celeste and only played a bit but, wow, is it good. Great soundtrack, hard as nails and very cool gameplay. Had read it has an emotional tug and can see that coming.

Have you tryed plugging the X to another TV? Using different HDMI cables? Sorry I didn't read last responses. If HDMI Cable doesn't work when switch as well as the TVs might be the X itself borked. Theres always a chance the HDMI out is fried.

 
I think it might actually be the TV. This was a set that was listed as Excellent at BB...not a brand new model. I'm gonna call BB tomorrow and we'll try troubleshooting. If Geek Squad can't fix this then they better come get this thing out of my house.
 
For what it's worth, Kristpas, I trashed the xbone s hdmi cable. Had too many issues with it. Replaced it with one of the 18gbps ones from monoprice. No issues with these.

I think you also need to set the hdmi port you are plugged into as enhanced hdmi to get 4k hdr if you haven't already. Maybe similar to this. Settings menu look for external inputs under tv, then hdmi signal format and set to enhanced.

Yeah I actually ordered that same cable a few days ago, I guess I'll wait till that one comes in and try it. I did also switch to enhanced HDR, still can't get a signal. It sucks.

I played about 17 hours of the beta, mix of 2 man, 4 man, and solo; and the game is a blast once you figure out what to do, I played with friends so there was always communication, the game has a lot of laughs as well if you just explore and run into certain things, like we ran into a ship that had another team on it and we actually ended up being friends and had like 6 people on our ship playing some music together, then the random on our team killed someone so we locked him up in the brig and only had 5 of us, then a second team came up that wasn't friendly and killed us all lmao, was a great time.

I don't have that TV and realize I'm only stating the obvious here, but if the HDMI cable you're using works fine on other TVs then the cable is fine. If your 360 or any other device isn't coming through inputs 2 and 3 either then it clearly sounds like the TV is fucked. Best Buy probably got it back as a faulty unit and put it out for sale when they should've sent that shit far away. Sucks for sure but I'm sure they'll make it right.

 
HDMI cable is key. Without the latest hi-speed spec cable HDR will be a no show. I had the exact same problem with my so called Hi-Speed cables. If you run your signal through a receiver make sure it supports 4K pass thru and make sure you change both the cables. Use the ARC port on your receiver / TV if available.

 
Yep, I'm at Best Buy right now setting up delivery of a brand new set for tomorrow. They agreed the unit must be defective if I've done everything possible and I still can't even get it to recognize the HDMI signal. So, this sucks, but oh well, lesson learned. Don't try to save $50 and just go new from now on.

If the savings of open box are significant over buying a new TV, to me it would be worth the hassle to go through the process to get the TV replaced. That being said, $50 doesn't sound like it's worth it. :p

 
Well they did right by me. Sold me a brand new set for the same price I paid for the open box one. And they agreed to have the tech set up the set for free as well. Hopefully I'll be gaming in 4K glory tomorrow morning.

Double XP in Escalation for a week, as well as a 5 round version available.

25 wave Horde Frenzy event giving out a Midnight Omen weapon skin when you complete all 25 waves.  Embar, Dropshot and Overkill available.  Reads like it's given as a drop when completing the run.  No idea if it gives you duplicates, requiring more than 3 runs (or if duplicates can be scrapped).  But if you earned the 2 Midnight Omen skins during the Jingle Juvies event (which haven't been distributed yet), that would complete the requirements for the "Better than Bacon" achievement for collecting 5 Midnight Omen skins from the latest update (again, once they're distributed).

On some quest but there’s no guidance or anything. There was just four of us sitting around looking at each other (none of us were using a mike). No tutorial. No voice overs.
