Sadly looks like Gamestop only so I bought one. Even if I don't use it much and it sucks I'm a sucker for nostalgia items, especially working on the X1. Hope they make a ton so you guys can get them on the cheap in the future.

Good looks on the VIP vault. I'm pretty close to 2000 so I'm gonna hold off. I don't see myself ever hitting 10k gems and I bet when I do they raise the price to 20k gems for the X lol.

That thing is hideous. It's brought me nightmares and as I recall everyone hated that garbage. Now they are charging a premium for it. They have some balls.

I was in for that Duke controller. Have actually been looking forward to it since the day it was announced. $70 is just too much for a wired controller though. Nostalgia is worth $45 at the most in this case

I think the higher price is due to that jewel in the middle being an actual OLED screen that plays the Xbox boot animation on it.

idk, the minecraft and sea of thieves controllers are $75 and the other special edition ones are $70 so 70 for this one with OLED screen seems normal to me. I don't want it because i'm never using a non-elite controller though.

I reloaded the page after redeeming it once, and it still offers me the $5 price. Did it a second time, says I'm subscribed for two months. May just keep doing it for 6 months worth, any chance the system will get mad at me for multiple purchases?

 
Thanks to those talking about the Xbox Rewards/MS Rewards whatever it's called now stuff. Had no idea about the jewels thing, so I went to look and apparently I had some "Golden Child" my challenge done and also a birthday gift so I got $5 worth of points coming my way. Add that to the 3 months of GamePass I just got for $5 each from that deal, and the birthday burger I got from my Red Robin Royalty card, and tonight is turning out pretty sweet.

That animation is both unnecessary and awesome. Still not sure why that monstrosity is coming back, but that’s a nice gimmick.

I just added 5 months using Bing credit saved up. Will report back if they come down upon me. But as of right now, I've extended my Game Pass sub out to September.

Cool. I spent $20 on 4 months worth, which will go past the end of the semester. Plenty of time to finish ReCore and dabble with the other stuff I wanted to check out.

I did the same - good thru June 8th. Plenty of time to give Sea of Thieves a try. Hoping State of Decay 2 or Crackdown 3 comes out by then but not a word on either of those 2 in a while.

The real genius here is that an xbl gold subscription comes out to $5 a month at MSRP for a $60 year, and we have got excited about paying that for Game Pass by setting the price twice as high and then just discounting it to the standard gold rate.
 
Just pre-ordered a Duke controller! I'm a sucker for nostalgia! It's why my Transformers collecting obsession is beyond my control. Also I see the 5 dollar promo from the Microsoft Store app on my computer. I had zero interest in this as I own a good amount of games listed, but at 5 bucks a month I might bite for 6 mo. to do some Sea of Thieves.

I'm waiting for my buddy that works at MS to say they're on the company's employee store. Hoping 1 year matches the $25 for 1 year of Gold.

I'm so far behind in my TF collecting. MP Ratchet, Grapple, Inferno, Hot Rod, Sunstreaker, the new Sideswipe repaint, Megatron, Shockwave, the coneheads and the Beast Wars guys. Still need to pick up the Titan Trypticon, too.

I'm ashamed to admit that I own 80% of the games on Game Pass, even with new additions (and most of them are backlogged as it is).

Though there are a few indie games that Game Pass introduced me to during a trial month that I really enjoyed and I wish they'd put them on sale (Roundabout and Ultratron). The discount on them with a Game Pass sub isn't really worth the sub alone.

Nowadays I don't have a lot of space so I am a bit more selective. Right now I'm only buying MP, Titan Class (Trypticon on my list as well), and a few Titan Returns. I have a ton of stuff in boxes and I need to clear some of it out lol.

I just picked up MP-36, MP-39, and MP-10b. I have pretty much all of the main characters going back to the original MP-1 that the missus bought me way back in the day. Mostly just missing repaints and all of the Coneheads. I used to live on the TFW2005 boards!

 
FYI, I was getting the 19.98 for 3 months offers every time I've checked since the offers started getting reported here a few days ago. Today I started getting the $5 for 1 month offer. Tempted, but I don't know if I'd get to it this month. Hardly touched it the last two $1 months. Want to play the TA monthly game Ryse. Want to hit the Telltale GotG game for 10k Marvel Insider points towards a reward for MPQ on my phone, I try to keep up in Madden challenges and Forzathons. Meaning to get back into Warframe. I've got a few Redbox credits to use on games that are expiring soon. There are free weekend games for anime month and R6 Siege. Gears events to keep up with. Not enough time for all that let alone 100+ more games.

I think that was an error. I got one $5 code thinking that the year of Live had expired at the end of January. Then saw the Live was active until the end of Feb or when it runs out. Looked at Live credit and it stated the end date was january 2018 (1st or 31st, can't recall) which of course had already passed.

The history and business aspects of it's journey are interesting.

I just went to use a soon-to-be-expired rental code and noticed that the game rental was free before the code was even applied. Rented two games this way then used the code towards a movie which did not get automatically discounted to free. Seems like the recent promo where game rentals were free for the first night may be back, but I didn't get an email. It worked on South Park FBW and Assassins Creed Origins. Curious if anyone else replicates this thru the website or app.

I just picked up MP-36, MP-39, and MP-10b. I have pretty much all of the main characters going back to the original MP-1 that the missus bought me way back in the day. Mostly just missing repaints and all of the Coneheads. I used to live on the TFW2005 boards!

I have most of the original MP line, except Rodimus. I got the eHobby repaint and the US release, but not the original JP release. I have an account on the TFW2005 boards, but don't visit frequently.

Where did you get MP-36 and did they put a plug on the barrel? Is that from the reissue run? Were there any quality improvements over the first run?

The last few batches that I bought came from HobbyLink Japan. A buddy gets them for me to save on shipping. I still have this, and a handful of other MP's still in the box. From what we could tell, the Megs reissue looks to have been double taped so its most likely going to be an orange plug version. I believe it is a re-issue run since we were waiting for a while to get it.

I plan to open reissue Megs over the weekend and I can let you know how the quality is. My OG MP Megs has only been transformed twice and has been in a glass shelf ever since in robot mode since its so delicate.

It's a great deal for me because It means I can buy even less games. You'll get all the MS exclusives going forward and I'd imagine they will add old first party titles down the road as well. EA Access will eventually give me all of EA's titles and now I get all of Microsoft's titles for $150 year at max between both services (there will be deals on Gamepass once the cards roll out, and I was able to get EA Access for $23ish multiple times on Newegg).Combine that with GWG and I'm probably gonna be down to few new purchases a year mostly for the Switch (when I get one) and PS4. Obviously not going to stop me from buying the huge AAA games here and there but I definitely want to spend less on games.

Now with that save money I need to buy a 8TB drive to download all my gamepass titles lol.

Yeah, I only transformed my MP-5 a couple times when I got it, been in storage since then since I don't have anywhere to display it. Took me a bit of hunting to find an importer that didn't put a plug on the barrel. I doubled up on the MP purchases, so I still have a sealed one. The place I used messed up on the shipping, so I haven't used them again. I've bought from Hobby Link Japan before, but I generally use Big Bad Toy Store.

Agreed on both fronts, but in my head I still feel 10 years younger than I am. Then I stand up and feel the aches. Currently 2 subluxated ribs due to my mediocre job, but no way was I filing a claim and going to their crappy docs.

 
Overdriven Reloaded came out today for $7.99 and it gets my seal of approval. Vertical shmup bliss. Xbox Anywhere is a bonus, but if I ever want a PC copy, I'm still going to get it on Steam because Windows 10 games are a pain in the ass.

No offense intended :) I just dread the thought of going back to school while working and paying adult bills.

I would be looking to get my degree in Social Work. I work for a company that Dealseeker in particular really loves.

Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan... the body just doesn't recover like it used too lol. I'm on my feet for 12 hour shifts 4 days a week. By the end of my work week, my feet/calves are gone. I only drive barefoot (I know, I know... but there's something about controlling the vehicle with my big toe), and by the time I'm finished driving home, my feet swell up and I hobble to my front door.

Is that something you'd go to a chiropractor for? (your ribs)

Gonna try to finish up Uncharted 4 over the next day or so, and then either jump back into Witcher 3 after maybe 2 years, or get into Shadow of War for the first time.

Yep. 10 days of prednisone, shots of a steroid and Toradol in my butt, and visiting a chiropractor with rib specialty. Only thing letting me work has been ace bandage and lidocaine, although I'm sure I was making it worse until I got seen because it was getting worse over time.

Been playing HotS for Lunar Event and I pulled a stimpack in a lootbox while I continue idling Smite and Pinball v3.

After 3 years and four months, I'm finally done with The Evil Within (may consider doing a NG+ for the upgrade achievements). Now time for the DLC and in 6 to 12 months, the sequel.

40-50K is definitely a huge bump in pay regardless of the field. Who would have thought a Masters degree could have such a huge return on investment. I would say get that degree ASAP!

There was some overlap in college and work, but it depends on the program. My grad program is writing intensive and career-oriented, so you do the work of the field while you're learning it. Hence, I'm still in school, but already working as a therapist. I don't really have an income, though, it's all tied up in loans and tuition. I could have gone part time for school, but I really wanted to get it over with.

It's a lot to take on regardless. But, I love the material, so being out for 12-14 hours a day working, in class, and studying isn't as taxing as it would be if I didn't care about what I was doing. I couldn't dedicate this much time to biochem. At the same time, I'm a much better student than I was in undergrad and do far better work, so I'm glad I waited.

I'm 31. Young at heart (not that post-30 is "old"). Lots of 21-22 year olds in my program straight out of undergrad, most people think I'm younger than I am, which is sometimes beneficial (seen as a peer vs more of an adult) and sometimes not (being talked down to like I haven't been around very long).

Some jobs might pay 40-50k, but adding $50k? That sounds like a whole second job. Maybe if you were licensed, but an MSW alone would probably almost never net that kind of additional pay, biggs must have a good thing going.

 
As someone with a Masters in I/O psychology that did his thesis on the psychological contract, do not listen to said boss. If you wish to pursue more education or another job, do it for intrinsic reasons not because of random talk from a boss that may or may not pan out later and ruin your employment experience and psychological health.

I don't actually work in SW anymore. It's just that the job doesn't care what the degree is in. The flipside is like Ridickulous said though. Suppose I go through with a program and at the end of the day, get passed on for some brown noser lol. I'd be pissed.

I have a BSW and I haven't started using it yet because my non sw job that I did while in school pays more than any entry level social work job. Around here most jobs require an MSW plus being licensed and you're looking at maybe a $10k-$20k pay difference from BSW (which a lot of entry level jobs are asking you to be licensed as well. To start making a decent amount you're mostly looking at someone with a PhD in an administration position.

I'd like to leave my current job but need to decide if I want to go back to school, take a pay cut, or potentially look into a new field entirely.

No matter how much you may like or trust your boss, unless you get something in writing, you shouldn't count on it happening 100%. Who's to say your boss will even still be there when you finish your degree, for example. If it boosts your overall income at your current place or at another organization, and you're interested in getting a Masters, then go for it. If your current place pays for any part of your studies, then that gives you even more incentive (but don't count on the salary raise as a definite -- get a Masters only if you think it helps you in the long run).

The company will pay for 95% of my expenses. I guess I should look at being able to get that much of the cost soaked up as the prize itself, regardless of the POTENTIAL earnings increase. I guess I'll spend some time deciding if I want to go through more studies. I kind of need my time off from work and can't imagine studying in that space.

Videogames and Pizza for the next 10 hours!!!
