Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Don't know if it was mentioned or not already, but Super Bomberman R leaked on the MS Store. Release date of June 12th at $49.99. Looks like it has all the features the Switch version boasted. I myself am looking forward to 8 player battle royal. Local and online.

Currently downloading Superhot. Thanks for posting its up

...FINE :)

Also, I think the MixPot stuff went through yesterday!
I ....think it was a retail promotion to get a code for the other version, but cross buy was limited to DLC on XBL.

I never even played it, I don't know why I know this. Anything to procrastinate from the work I'm doing in the library right now.

they brought me many great memories as a child. Just another sign of the times.
Oh definitely. When I was a kid, long before the Internet, going to TRU to make a list of what I wanted for Christmas or my birthday was a huge deal.

And even when I got older, I was within walking distance and I’d go over to check out what Colecovision games they had on sale (yep, a CAG even back then).

Back at release, digitally buying 360 Ghosts gave you a license for X1 also.

Wow, that's a real bummer re: Toys R Us. I understand that physical stores are not necessarily the preferred method of shopping anymore, but for some things, I think the physical shopping experience has value. As a kid, going to a huge store full of toys was pretty freaking awesome.

I will never forget the perfect storm that was the Toys R US Green tag clearance and those $5 off any $20 game coupon.

Seeing a $1500 purchase drop to $50 was the best shopping experience ever!!

Anyone else remember the days when buying a video game at Toys R Us meant taking a ticket from the video game aisle, paying at the register and then taking the validated ticket to the window at the front where are the games were locked up?

I’m glad my oldest son got a chance to roam the aisles of LEGOs and skylanders with his birthday money. Sadly, my two youngest will never have that joy.

Mom dukes had to do this for Super Mario Bros 2. Good ol days.

Damn, bought Superhot for $12.50!

Anyways my TV is fuck, what is the TV everyone keeps recommending on here? K800 or something? Need to do some research for 4K / HDR & Xbox One X.
Just in case you were thinking of the Samsung it was the KS8000. It might be over two revisions old by now so maybe hard to find one. Oddly it has higher HDR peak brightness ratings than the newer equivalent Samsung models so they took a step back and I think a lot go with the Sony mentioned above now. Rtings.com is a good site to really dig into comparison numbers.

Toys R Us problem is they charge more than MSRP on many items. I always end up buying it at Target or Walmart for cheaper when my kids want a toy. This should make way for mom and pop toy stores again that don't have massive amounts of debt like Toys R Us.

FYI just got my Feb Game Pass reward. Pretty sure I hit the 10 hour mark in Mad Max, got a $5 reward. Someone in my party got a message around the same time and it was for the Jan Gold quest (forgot what that one was). I guess the last two months’ worth are slowly trickling out.

Hmm, Mine still aren't working. I have one score on my XBone, a different one on the BC emulator on my XBone and a third score on my 360, wtf? I sure hope they sync....
Mine were popping the notification on the 360, but wasn't getting anything scanning in on sites like True Achievements. Thankfully they still showed up with time stamps.

Speaking of achievements I was poking around the totally convoluted Xbox Live Rewards site to see what the deposit I got from today was from and noticed something. Under the MyVip Perks and Gems statement I noticed I've been getting Gems for every 1000 gamerscore increase. It's all over the place one entry I had 14 gems, another 44 gems, and another 2 gems. So I guess MS in a weird way is paying out for Gamerscore now? Too bad it wasn't retroactive.

I've noticed I got gems once, but I haven't found any text on what the terms and conditions are. How do we earn gems? I know it's for 1000 gamerscore, but got 3k in gamerscore this month and only the first 1k got the gems. Is there a limit of 1k per month? Or did the system not recognize the other 2k yet...? ??

I’d HIGHLY recommend the TCL 55P607 (or 605 depending on where you get it). $600 and has the specs of TVs $1500 or more.
One of the few non-OLED sets to have Dolby Vision.

I had a Samsung and loved it but the TCL kicks ass.

Yeah no clue there. I have 2 enteries this month one from 03.09.18 for 44 Vip gems and one from today but only for 2 Vip gems. I don't have any other ones except from 12.17.07 and that was for 14 Vip gems. Looking at my stats for 2018 on True Achievements I already have earned over 17,000 Gamerscore in 2018. So there is really no rhyme or reason to it that I see.

Coming up on time for Best Buy to mark down their display models. Got a Samsung 9500 for 750 down from around 1800 last year. Granted I kicked myself after seeing how cheap things got during the holidays, but I imagine some deals will be available again.

Not sure if they sent this to everyone or not but I got this in my Xbox live message
Come and check out Path of Exile's new Bestiary League and redeem your code for $5 of in-game currency. It's a great opportunity to start a fresh character and see the new Bestiary content, where you can hunt dangerous beasts to craft powerful items. Hope to see you in Wraeclast soon!

I went to my local toys r us a few years ago after not having gone for years - last time I had been there was when I was buying HeroScape expansions ...It was more of a kids clothing store by that point with a very small section of toys and games - not at all the giant warehouse of toys I remembered. Have to say, I’m not surprised this is finally happening. It’s a shame.

so many damn E achievements in this challenge, getting through V was kind of tough for me, even on casual rainbow six is pretty brutal with its one shot kills

The E achievements are killing me. I’m at HAPPYBIRTHDAYTRU and all my Es are either easy time sinks (like 10 races in cockpit view in F1 2013), or much further into a storyline than I can be bothered to do right now.

Bomberman is up for pre-order. It's the same game on Switch from the looks of it.

I had fun with the multi player but the community was dead. Hopefully they have cross play in the future with PS4/PC/Switch or something could have a large bomberman community.

Single player was laughably short. I had fun with it. EastX would be the right man to judge the game if he still posts here.

For those of you wondering the Xbox rewards site has the following link to the t&c on the bottom of every page (obviously the link is in English and for the US region; may be different for different regions).

https://rewards.xbox.com/en-US/terms-and-conditions/

It specifies all the ways you can earn rewards points and myVIP gems including gamer score increases, ranking up, birthdays, anniversary dates, purchases, surveys, etc.

ok so 2 vip gems every 1000 Gamerscore, so they must of just stockpiled and gave me a bunch at once from December to March for the 44 gem deposit

Sony Europe released information regarding the Sega Genesis collection. For whatever reason they removed both Ecco the Dolphin games and also Sonic 3 + Sonic and Knuckles.

However, they added online co-op and local co-op for all games (or so it seems those that have the function). I stole the complied list off resetera of new and removed games.

+ Alien Soldier
+ Bio-Hazard Battle
+ Columns III
+ Crack Down
+ Galaxy Force II
+ Gunstar Heroes
+ Landstalker
+ Light Crusader
+ Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
+ Space Harrier II
+ Sword of Vermilion
+ Revenge of Shinobi
+ Toejam & Earl
+ Toejam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron
+ Virtua Fighter 2
+ Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair
+ Wonder Boy in Monster World

- Ecco the Dolphin
- Ecco: Tides of Time
- Sonic 3
- Sonic & Knuckles

Sadly online retailers will continue to kill B&M places. I, like some others prefer to go into a store and pick what I want. While I use online for somethings, I'd rather be able to pick my own stuff. I guess that is old fashioned lol.

I will miss TRU as I used to go there and buy Legos as well.

I'm excited for Bomberman on Xbox, I have it on Switch as well but really did enjoy the multiplayer.

As for the Sega collection again, I'm also happy for more Toejam and Earl plus Sword of Vermilion, fun games!

I'm not sure when TRU will be removed from eligibility with ExpertZone, but if there are any other employees here I'd try and re-verify soon. I think we'll be grandfathered in until that final verification expires.

Fortunately at my store I think a large chunk of the non-manger staff saw the writing on the wall over the last couple months and have already been looking for and finding jobs.

Geralt has been officially announced. Looks pretty cool. Part of the section with Mitsurugi seems like it could be part of a cutscene, as they are actually clanging swords but have no visual effects happening. Could just be something made for the trailer in engine though.

Don't recall seeing MSRP but Best Buy is posting it for $30. Will probably buy digital when it's $15 or so.

Hmm, Mine still aren't working. I have one score on my XBone, a different one on the BC emulator on my XBone and a third score on my 360, wtf? I sure hope they sync....
Mine aren't working either, to an extent. I am receiving the achievements, but the "ding, you got an achievement" message is not coming up. Tried last night with Injustice 2. Thought it was something with the game not wanting to interrupt a match. Tried again with Peggle 2 this morning, and still no message. Had to check the achievement tab to make sure I was actually getting them.
