Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

[*]All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every Tuesday.
[*]ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...

Is that the one they announced for Gamepass? That would make more sense. I could swear it was the new game cover art, but I may have been mistaken. I apologize for getting everyone excited if that’s the case!

Edit: and of course I can’t find any info on this. I’ll have to rewatch the VOD for confirmation.

Ah well, got excited but battlefest is still a fun game so that's good too :p

Did they happen to say anything about the mixpot? My stream froze a couple min after the bc announcement when Larry started talking about x1x enhancements

I avoided Jade Empire on the 360 since it wasn't the special edition, hopefully this new one will have all the content

such a great game even on mobile :)

Xbox Live for the Xbox is dead and they're not changing that for BC.
Long live xbox live.

It's cool to see some more games and series that were "stuck" on the xbox/generation 6 systems finally make their way back to the future. I'll probably pickup Panzer Dragoon, Mercenaries, Breakdown and Blinx. Hopefully everything will start at 9.99 like the previous stuff but I have my doubts. My bet is that Mercs will be 20 digitally and I could see Morrowind hit at the steam price of 15.

I played a couple rounds on hard and it was pretty easy. Haven't tried the other difficulties yet though. Seems to go a lot faster than the Uprising event.
I haven't played since it went live, is it retribution AND uprising or just the former? I was curious how the achievements/skins for uprising would work with it technically being a different event this time. Maybe they said something about it and I missed it.

Who is gonna actually play these games? You guys have some epic ass backlogs just like I do. Too many good games out currently and coming out in the next couple of months to play these old ass games.

Oh go play your new games and let us enjoy a walk down memory lane. Hell, I pull out my ColecoVision every once in a while.

Leave the new game territory to those PS4 people! :)

If they fix KOTOR 2, I will happily play it again. Curious to see how Jedi Academy fares. And $10 is better then the outrageous prices they have risen to on disc

Nope. They even had a pretty dramatic shutting down of the OG Xbox Live services many years ago, b/c the OG infrastructure was holding back updates to the 360 (like friend limits, which was capped at 100 at one time). All OG servers on XBL have been offline for many years, a publisher would have to update the game to support or otherwise emulate online functionality, which isn't inconceivable, but is extremely unlikely.
Oh man remember the dudes who just wouldn’t give up on Halo 2? That went on for like an extra week. MS played it well, too, giving them props and even some swag instead of finding ways to force them offline. Funny stuff.

It includes both. They've give the event the umbrella term of Archives with Uprising and Retribution being "files" within it that way they can tell different stories each year. The loot boxes were also updated from "Uprising" loot boxes to "Archives" loot boxes and include all of the items from both events.

If you guys havent played late shift on gamepass its pretty neat. Like a choose your own adventure book. You make choices and the story goes by what you choose.

Those Gears 2 maps that were supposed to be free but were still showing prices seem to be working now:

Quick search found it, almost exactly 8 years ago:

http://www.ign.com/articles/2010/04/30/yep-people-are-still-playing-halo-2-on-xbox-live-update

One of the reasons I love 360 BC, making room for last gen on the current platform helps ensure relevance.

Hellblade achievements are up:

https://www.xboxachievements.com/game/hellblade-senuas-sacrifice/achievements/

I'm guessing this is the first Xbox One game with more than a 1000 gamerscore on launch with no title updates and/or DLC achievements to be added later down the road.
Both Xbox Achievements and TrueAchievements list 14 achievements worth 1k GS. However, TA says there are 16 achievements, 9 without DLC, and the base game has 1,120 total GS.

Rare Replay also has 4k GS.

Picked up breakdown and full spectrum warrior both cib for $4 and $3 respectively from local used game store. They had mercenaries for $12. I didn't see mercenaries in the market place any one know if it's there for less than $12?

In other news Call of Juarez Gunslinger is back. I'm not paying $15 but will pick it up if it goes on sale again.

Oh man I remember Breakdown! Picking that up along with Blinx, Conker and Panzer Dragon Orta. I never got a chance to play PDO back in the day. I got the original Sega Saturn PD series that I need to finish as well. I'm excited!

Just a small PSA for people, Blinx: The Time Sweeper has inverted camera controls with no way to change it.

Just a heads up if anyone is hardwired against such things.

Im just salty cause Microsoft needs to make new original games.

This. HOWEVER, this means they are not wasting E3 time for all these old games, so that is great news! Hopefully that means they have so many new games to show us, they won't have time for this.

There is a joystick sticking out of the top of my head. If you want me to look up you pull it back, and if you want me to look down you push it forward. Simple.

WTF? Just put in my Sonic Generations disc in and got a “this disc is not playable...see Xbox.com ...for a list of 360 games” blah blah blah.

Edit: rebooted and now it works. Odd because I never had to do that for any other BC game and the X enhancement updates announced today were downloading just fine.

I really hope you're right but I really feel like MS is done this gen and they are banking on the power of the X and the multiplats to carry them through the rest of the way until next generation. It's not like Phil Spencer just woke up one day and said,"Oops we have no games! I guess we should get on that!" If they had planned to have more games by now it should have been planned six years ago.

I do feel like the X1X renewed some interest from developers so hopefully that translates into some exclusives being announced at E3.

Actually am looking forward to Jedi Academy again. Saw it new for the bargain price of $119 on Amazon!

They do have them used for ~$12. I’ll settle for the $9.99 XBL price thank you very much.

That's my thing, the getting the games needed to be done 3 years ago. They can show whatever at E3 and in the best case scenario that will be in 6 months if it's a Fallout 4 situation. Usually though it's a couple years like Sea of Thieves or Crackdown 3 and the former has some charm but what were they doing that whole time. Lots of Sam Fisher today, wonder if there is something going on with that...
