Reading this, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is the only original Xbox game listed as enhanced on the Xbox One X (renders at 2560 x 1920 while the Xbox One S renders at 1280 x 960). Is that strictly due to brute force (as in the uncapped frame rate scenario) or was that game tweaked?

On an entirely different subject, using IIII instead of IV would only be acceptable if done in jest, which I'm confident Activision is incapable of.

You're correct that the One S does not enhance 360 games, not enough horsepower. The fancy resolution boosts and HDR lighting are X1X only.

All OG games are automatically boosted in resolution, the X1X just boosts it higher, so even on the S, OG games look really nice:

On top of gamegirlpocket's answer, keep in mind that very few 360 games are X enhanced, less than the total OG games that are BC. Stuff with wonky framerates usually are improved on the default Xbone and S though, like Red Dead.

It's also video games so if they wanted to put Black Ops and 4 apples or Black Ops and 4 butter knives it would all still be fine.

I mean shoot, Resident Evil put a giraffe getting a BJ instead of a 6.

Original Xbox BC is tempting me to buy an Xbox One like nothing previously had. If Jet Set Radio Future or Otogi are added, I'll break.

yeah, like gamegirlpocket said, the resolution of the OG games are much improved whether on the 1X or not. I have an S, and KOTOR, Jade Empire and Morrowind all look much better than they use to on console. I think the lighting effects get a boost also, if i'm not mistaken.

 
Didn't make it through the GTASC challenge yesterday. Was too busy with work, and didnÄt have time to use the bonus (would have even earned a new one this period) was eliminated by 2 ranks. And placed 487th. But have to admit it was getting to a point where it was tiring..so i'm kinda glad it's over...

Also saw ,that you Bloomy didn't make it either, how do you feel about it?

I've been playing Hellblade and love it. I showed my friend some of my recordings at work and the first thing he said was "why have I never heard of this game?" Marketing seems to be the main issue.
 
I'm interested in kholat and soma but not a huge horror game fan. Anyone play them? Are they more atmospheric, survival or jump scares around every corner? I watched a bit of someone streaming kholat but the part I watched didn't look any more horror than gone home or dear esther.

don't know Khloat but Soma is pretty good, it's not very jump scare like Outlast/Silent Hills thing on PS4, more of a mind fark, great atmosphere though, you like Bioshock world more than the gameplay, go ahead and buy it

Gears developer stream is running (though it just went down because the PC doing the stream crashed), quests tab will be active later. Another District weapon skin and a trivia challenge with a Mega Pack as the prize.

Griffin character skin becomes available tomorrow through a challenge, getting 750 kills in Horde or Public Vs.

Meh. A bit glad I can go back to letting games simmer in the backlog, though I was hoping to finish in the top 500. Was too far behind to make that, with no bonuses to spend. Was also getting to be a pain trying to keep up. I unlocked a number of Rayman Origins achievements last Saturday, but spent Sunday binging the last half season of Feat the Walking Dead to be ready for the new season (and clear some DVR space). Saw you played through Pneuma within a day, and I might've tried to do that on Tuesday if I wasn't currently training a new employee and need to be available at work.

 
District Boomshot has been up in the Gears stream.  Need to watch for 30 minutes.  First trivia question is live as well.  They said each question will be up for about 10 minutes, so if you start watching now, you may have time enough for the Boom.

Woooow! How was this not quoted? Was this brought up in the past and I'm late to the party? This is so accurate it's ridiculous, and I'll never be able to look at that cover the same again. I have the physical copy in my 360 backlog too so I'll be seeing that lucky giraffe again. Thanks a lot Donken.

That's been "known" for years, I guess if you squint. I was dissapointed I didn't get a BJ in Last of US

 
I bet whoever made God Of War wishes they could put it out on the X to showcase it's true potential instead of being hamstrung by the Soystation 4's antiquated architecture.

Watching some God of War gameplay right now. Don't get me wrong, if it was on the X, I'd eventually play it when it was super on sale or something, but there's nothing special about it to me.

And full disclosure: I played the original God of War and found it really disappointing. This wasn't like a year or two ago. It was before God of War II was a thing. So, I guess with my lack of hype toward the original, I have no nostalgia at play.

Not being a defensive fan boy to "my" console or anything. Just not understanding the furvor. There's plenty of exclusive PS4 stuff that would make we want to get one, but this ain't it.

The review I read praised the narrative and cinematography the most, something that would be hard to appreciate from a gameplay video. Sounds like it has more in common with Last of Us than the original GoW. The only game in the series I ever finished was one of the PSP games, which was fun and short. The console games lasting 20+ hours was usually more beat-em-up than I wanted, no matter how well made they may have been.

If it were on X1, I'd play the new one eventually too, but I don't have any FOMO the way I do for Horizon Zero Dawn / DQ11 / FFXII.

 
I watched some GoW gameplay this morning, and while it looks nice and combat seems fun, the kid being referred to as “boy” and the boy’s constant remarks annoyed the hell out of me within the first few minutes...

The review I read praised the narrative and cinematography the most, something that would be hard to appreciate from a gameplay video. Sounds like it has more in common with Last of Us than the original GoW. The only game in the series I ever finished was one of the PSP games, which was fun and short. The console games lasting 20+ hours was usually more beat-em-up than I wanted, no matter how well made they may have been.

If it were on X1, I'd play the new one eventually too, but I don't have any FOMO the way I do for Horizon Zero Dawn / DQ11 / FFXII.

Actually been watching it on Twitch all morning while I'm working, so I've seen my share of story and cutscenes. Not really sure progress-wise where this is, but it seems like a totally okay game that isn't the best thing ever.
