Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

My wife and son got their final Xbox Rewards deposit ... but I didn't get mine. And I had some points pending. Now it won't let me log in to my Xbox Rewards account anymore. Anyone know if these things roll out in waves? If not, I guess I need to contact support.

Also, trying to figure out if they did the conversion on remaining gems over to MS points. Not sure where there is even a history of this.
They told me it was rolling out on the 15th. 15th came and I asked them where's my $15 and they said it should be rolled out by next week on their Twitter. I was thinking about grabbing some thing from the E3 sale but it's looking like that won't be the case.

alright i'm sharing this because it's my best fortnite shot i've hit so far. Also it's hard to see the enemy but he's standing on the brick stairs:

Don’t listen to the haters, I’m glad you had a good time playing and are proud of what you did :)

Got my TCL today. Menus alone look better than my last TV and I can now control my soundbar with my media remote. Speaking of, anyone with an X and TCL have a remote code that works for controlling the TV? The auto set up detects the TV but the remote code it gives doesn't work.

Best Buy employee burned me. Got a fraud warning when I went to buy it and he said something along the lines of "if someone stole your credit card I think they'd go for something a little nicer than a TCL." Said he was joking and heard it's good for gaming. Ended up talking about PUBG/Fortnite and Nintendo for a minute.

you were warned

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by controlling the tv, like one of those media remotes?

Games leaving gamepass end of June:

Bard's Gold (X1 was dirt cheap so some of you might own it.)

Resident Evil 6 (X1 probably worst in the series but it's buttery smooth at 60fps and has a lot of fun co-op play.)

and Monnaco: What's yours is mine (360, was also GWG)

RE 6 was fun as hell if you had a co-op partner. It's a huge departure from what the originals were like but there was still a good time to be had with a friend.

I enjoyed 5 and 6 both quite a bit playing co-op, I know they get bagged on a lot. 6 had so many wtf this is crazy moments. That said that RE 2 remake going with a quasi-RE 4 style and just upping the graphical elements looks pretty fantastic. Saw some of the zombie work they're doing and I'll be buying day one.

Yeah. The xbox media remote Worked fine on my old TV then upgraded to the X and couldn't figure out why I couldn't control the volume anymore, thought I set it up correctly. Haven't tried to see if xbox power controls the TV power.

I'm thinking about jumping in on Elite Dangerous any thoughts? Do you have to get the Commander Deluxe Edition (that includes the season pass stuff) to have a good time? I'm a little torn because think it might be sweet but its a little pricey..

Does anyone know how to get past the main menu freeze on Toy Soldiers War Chest? On PS4 you can reset the date, but not on Xbox One. I contacted Ubisoft and they said they are working on it, but this is a known bug for 3 years, so I don't think it is ever going to be fixed.

Maybe go offline or start game up then sign in.

Hey I shot a guy playing Fortnite the other night.
Was I supposed to post that for everyone? My bad.
I’ll be sure to post all my Fortnite kills in the future.

I don't use an xbox media remote, but I use a 3rd party remote to control items including a TCL and I had to look up Roku codes to get it to work. Not sure if the Xbox media remote has Roku codes programmed for it.

Edit: And, it doesn't help that in general I do admittedly *despise* the kind of F2P money-grab bullshit. I can't stand how intrusive it is when I cycle through screens & I'm presented with multiple attempts to reach into my wallet in order to offer me more of the game. Even if it's mostly cosmetic I can't stand this model. It comes off as inherently shady & just kills the joy I normally feel when gaming. Yeah, I know there are options to purchase "retail style packages", but I know that even buying a $40 or $60 package isn't going to stop them from intrusively asking for more money at every turn.
I don't really see this applying to Fortnite. Yes you can buy cosmetics and they can be pretty expensive, but they don't cram them down your throat or anything. The only thing they really promote in-game is the Battle Pass, which has huge value as far as cosmetics go while also adding a lot more progression to the game, and only needs to be bought once if you put in the few hours a week to complete the weekly challenges every week. Regardless of paying on Fortnite or not, you're basically getting a AAA quality game that is constantly updated AND allows you to play with friends on three additional platforms.

I think PUBG (on PC) is much more money grabbing with it's randomized lootboxes with abysmal drop rates for items that you can't unlock any other way than buying through the Steam Marketplace. For F2P money grabbing, I'd say Paladins was worse with its pay to win card system, but I think that's been fixed at least.

The thing about Fortnite for me that is amazing is those constant updates. I have never seen a game do it as well as they have. I mean they do the kind of update most games put out quarterly and usually paid dlc, Fortnite does this weekly. New guns, new items, map changes, rebalancing, the list goes on and on. Then about every ten weeks, at least thus far they have done some real big changes like a near complete map overhaul. Love it or hate it Epic should be commended for what they have done with the updates. I can only hope that more games can do something similar in the future.

A Kill la Kill game was announced the other day just after E3 ended. The MOST informational trailer ever below. No platforms announced yet, out next year. It's being published by Arc System Works, and as a publisher they unfortunately do not have a history of bringing games to Xbox, with their most recent game Blazblue Cross Tag Battle being on Switch and PS4. The few games they've had come to Xbox were usually published by Aksys games, pretty much being the Blazblue games last gen. Notably, Dragon Ball FighterZ is obviously on Xbox, but that was published by Bamco and is a much, much more popular series. We have been getting more and more anime games lately, like the upcoming My Hero Academia: One’s Justice, and Jump Force, but they're all from a bit more mainstream anime, and pretty much only from Bandai Namco. My one hope is that Kill la Kill did air on Adult Swim alongside all of those sorts of shows.

Anyways, they have a few screenshots on their site, making it look like the kind of gameplay many of the Naruto games have. Hopefully it's decent, the actual developers only have one other game out so far and it's a totally different genre. They should have a pretty decent roster at least. There are a ton of cool characters and fighting styles in the show, especially if they include the lower-tier club captains.

I eventually found one that worked; I’ll try to find it.

... I don't see the target on the stairs in that Fortnite gif.

I have no attachment to this game because I've never played it.

Nope. I picked up a code for the DLC from the trade forum a few years back, and have never been able to play it. Quite the bummer, because I really enjoyed the first two games.
I spoke with Xbox support and can get a refund, but this seems unacceptable to me for a publisher to continue to sell a broken game, knowing that it is broken. I wish someone with a ton of followers on Twitter would bring this up.

Sounds like a dick. Not sure if they get commissions or not.
But I do know the same day I got my X, I went to Best Buy earlier in the day (which was over an hour away, since the closest store didn't carry the model I was after) to get my TCL. All the 'big names' were on display out on the walls and such. The TCLs were tucked away on an aisle to themselves. When the Best Buy boy tried to 'interest me in one of theeese' tvs, I said nah son and got someone else to show me where my TV was.
Problem I have with the Xbox controlling the Roku tv is that it turns it on, but you can't select the input without pressing 'ok' on the Roku remote anyway.
I use a receiver for my volume, but never any issues with the X controlling it.

Did he also try to sell you a $70 hdmi cable?

I bought Battlefront 2 yesterday to play with my son. We are having a lot of fun playing the coop missions. The shooting still feels a bit weird compared to call of duty or titanfall, something just feels a little off to me but overall it seems like a lot of content for $20. They really pulled back on the paid stuff, I don't feel like I need to buy anything in game.

They only had one TCL on the floor at the one I went to and it was a series 4. It was in the middle of an aisle, so in a high traffic area.

It was a bit of a dick move and he probably meant it as "they'd probably buy a higher end 4k TV if they didn't have to worry about the money."

Do you know if you can set it to go straight to an input? I want to have it turn on to the xbox. I realized today that it also isn't controlling the TV in general, turning the xbox on/off won't turn the TV on/off.

Did he also try to sell you a $70 hdmi cable?
Surprisingly not, my friend said they did it to him a couple weeks ago when he bought his. Could've been because I showed up 45 minutes before they were closing though.

This is the last night for the E3 sales - they are counting down to 6am Eastern tomorrow morning.  Make your last minute decisions soon.

The only thing appearing to be counting down for tomorrow night is Euro Fishing: Urban Edition.

Time for impulse buys!!!

Would someone mind talking me into or out of Battlefront 2 (played the original) and/or Marvel:  Ultimate Alliance bundle (played on the Dreamcast way back when)?  I'd appreciate any advice.  Thanks.

If you have any interest in any of the Marvel games, now would be the time to strike. The cheapest they've been individually since launch is $20 each, so at $10 each you're getting easily the best deal they've seen and maybe even will see for some time. At best, I'd guess maybe the same price during Black Friday or New Years.

Same goes for the bundle. Cheapest it's been is $24, so the current price ($15) is much lower.

It really depends on how badly you are wanting them and how much of a backlog you have to hold you over. They've been on sale 2-3 times the past year so they'll be on sale soon enough, but will they be THIS low is the question. Risk vs Reward here. Personally, I'd say go for it if you plan on playing them at least by the end of the year. If you plan to buy and play immediately, it's an absolute no brainer.

I'm confused, Saints Row Gat out of Hell is listed for xbox 1, and again listed as BC. What's going on here? And SR IV for xbox BC or SR IV Re-elected for xb1- what the heck?

Anyway I picked up SR 1 and 2. Which other ones in this sale, BC or XB1, do my fellows recommend?

Gat had both a 360 and X1 release. Both were released at the same time, so get the X1 version.

SR4 Re-elected is basically an HD remake of SR4 with all the dlc. The 360 SR4 was GWG a while back, so you may already have it.

If anyone wants the Marvel Ultimate Alliance bundle, https://mixer.com/InfinitePower nicely put it up for me, and is keeping it up for a while. So grab it while you can, makes it $10 after rebate which is a great deal imo.

Edit: The MUA ports came out 2 years ago as of this July, so they're also at risk of delisting due to expiring licenses.

Does it come with the dlc?

Just kidding, not even sure I want it but you talked me into it. I hope it has local co-op to play with friends or the kids.
