Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Debating on Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY. I never got far in DA Origins, but I understand it's not 100% necessary to play them first. The GOTY doesn't hit $10 often, usually more like $13.

I already got RE7, I figured I was going to pay $15 for Celeste if it had been on sale, and got a bunch of free or discounted XBL credit.

I know that you don't like me and I don't like you, but here is a code for 3 months of game pass.

I mean you could get both of the Dragon Age games via EA Access if you wanted along with a ton of .orther games.

You think it’s the Xbox and not the TV? Never had this issue on other TVs with the Xbox x.
I did try a 3rd tv and was able to get sound to work but no picture. Once I get this one back might sale it and get a new one, does anyone know if they changed any parts from the launch console?

Got it. I'll pass on the giving with something from date night.

I'd say go for it. You'll get a bit more out of it if you played the older games but it is a standalone story staring a different character than was in either of them. You want the GOTY version because the actual ending is one of the DLCs. As someone who did play both the previous games I liked it, and felt it was generally a return to from after DA2 kind of sucked. It's a bit longer than it needs to be, like 60 to 80 hours to do everything but there is a lot of filler that leads to that number.

The biggest changes from Origins would be the option for more active combat (you actively fire your bow or swing your sword rather than just telling your character to attack), and much bigger locations to explore that are borderline open world.

The first two on 360 I have via GWG, I'm just not sure I feel like playing through all of them. If I do, I'd want Inquisition with all the DLC though.

I use a Western Digital Easy Store 8TB for all my Xbox One games, and an older Seagate 5TB for all my 360 games. I only use the internal drive for apps and stuff.I have 405 games between my two hard drives, though lately I've been having a problem with this. For some reason over the last 2 or 3 weeks when I go to my games and apps it only says that I have 368 games including anything in ready to install. Sometimes like 8 or so of these games will all pop up to the top of the A-Z list as a vague green tile. If I do a simple reset it doesn't fix the issue but if I turn it off and unplug for a while then plug back in the games magically return.Sometimes i can highlight the green tile game and it will display the name and then sometimes I have to click start, manage, and then I can see what the game is. Scroll down and yeah sure enough the game is missing from my list. Off the top of my head it seems like this is only happening with xbox one/western digital games and not anything 360/Seagate.Is this happening to anyone else? Wondering if its a glitch introduced with latest patch or if i'm having an issue with my hard drive or system.
Anyone else experiencing the above? Still happening to me, turned on the box this morning and still showing 368 games total even though I own 405 right now. Really frustrating.

What's the Xbox Date Night, by the way? Tried to look it up on Xbox Rewards without realizing they changed over to Microsoft Rewards earlier this year. Just bought $75 in credit and want to make sure I'm not missing out on anything before I spend it all on the countdown sale.

I though it IATCG had died a fiery death from the excess shit posting, guess I was wrong. That guy man, he needs a serious internet break.

Inquisition GOTY is a damn good price considering the dlc is more that that package. I'm in the middle of the game, still, since forever. It's good but my heart is still with origins.

To to fellow cag playing Mutant: Year Zero and just unlocked Fox McSexLady? Thanks, been curious about this one but wasn't sure due to the whole X-com influence.

Happy New Year ya filthy muties!

This caught my attention because your setup is very similar to mine. I use 2 external drives: usb-powered 4tb WD easystore for xb1 games (currently at 96% capacity with 196 titles installed) and usb-powered 2tb WD my passport for 360 games (52% capacity with 175 titles installed). the internal 1tb drive is reserved for original xbox games (14) and apps. I'm not including anything in the "ready to install" list.

As far as I can tell, everything has always shown up. Sometimes it takes a good while to update if i recently unplugged a drive or something. I do an audit every 4-6 months using a spreadsheet I maintain. Your post is a reminder I need to go through it again.

my xbox system update status:

last updated 12/14

last update check 12/31

edit: i revisited my 4tb easystore purchase...i bought it on sale for $95 plus $20 bonus gift card from best buy in august 2017. the current price on their website is $200! has there been a recent spike in hard drive prices?

Tusk is the f2p character that hasn't been made available yet via GWG in Killer Instinct. Free for a week and good for some easy achievements for just playing a few matches as him.

Since Road Rage is counting down to a sale tonight, is this the Road Rash clone that got horrid reviews? Or is it Road Redemption? Thx

Mine has been doing this off and on for the past week. The space is used but only 85 games show, not 503.
Then, some point later, other pops up.
I installed fo76 when this happened but I find it difficult to accept that game is causing the issues. Do you have fo76 installed?

Oh if its fallout 76 causing the issue.... 😂

no new gamepass announcements yet?
Xbox exec Mike Ybarra teased that January's lineup of Gamepass titles will be "awesome," but that was a few days ago. Trying not to get too hyped considering this last month we got excellent games like Hellblade, Ashen, Life is Strange S1, LiS Before the Storm, Below, Ori and Mortal Kombat X!!!

Date night is Monday evening around 7PM when the new sale items for the week show up and Bloomy posts a list of the XBox One titles that are on sale for the week in the thread. This gets added to the first page of the thread as well. Mr Clutch will make a prediction on the sale prior to Bloomy's post. Of course Bloomy gives sneak peeks for the sale items now so the predictions are easier to make :)

Have to disagree with this. Might be issues with the TCL 6 series and the Xbox One X. But I have literally had zero issues with my X1X and the TCL P607. Love my TV!
I’ve got the same set and (dirty screen effect aside) it’s a very good set. Do you know if HDR is limited only to the first HDMI slot? I hooked up my new PS4 to HDMI 2 and it says HDR isn’t available. I’m sure this isn’t the right thread for the question but eh, it’s the holidays.

I had the same problem but on hdmi slot 1 with the ps4 pro, no hdr. I had to go into the TV settings and change the hdmi input to 2.0 and had to reset the pro. Even then the pro didn't pick it up till 10 mins into me playing spiderman. A message just popped up on screen that my TV supports better picture please go to setting to change. It's been fine since then.

I have the 605. PS4 Pro on one HDMI and XBox X on the other. Both support 4K and HDR10.
jimbo is correct. All the ports support HDR and Dolby Vision.

May need to check some threads on setup on the various AV forums. Can’t recall off the top of my head if I did anything special for my PS4 but it did get HDR on a separate port (I now have all of my gaming systems and my Apple TV 4K going through a receiver).

Finally got around to putting my 360, PS3, and WiiU on an HDMI switch so that they would only take up one slot on my receiver. Now I can easily pop on and use my credit for Back Compat sales.

Picked up SSX3, MX Unleashed, Stacking, and Age of Booty for $9 and change. :D

Great! Thanks. I’ll dig into it.

Last minute purchases:

Debating on Dragon Age Inquisition GOTY. I never got far in DA Origins, but I understand it's not 100% necessary to play them first. The GOTY doesn't hit $10 often, usually more like $13.

I already got RE7, I figured I was going to pay $15 for Celeste if it had been on sale, and got a bunch of free or discounted XBL credit.
After playing DA Inquisition a bit through EA Access I ended up paying for the GOTY edition for the DLC. I loved that game and the DLC is well worth it to squeeze out more gameplay.

To to fellow cag playing Mutant: Year Zero and just unlocked Fox McSexLady? Thanks, been curious about this one but wasn't sure due to the whole X-com influence.

Happy New Year ya filthy muties!
MYZ is a lot easier than Xcom, especially on normal where your abilities reset and hp refills after each battle. I'm playing on hard where hp only refills to half and abilities need a few kills to reset. I would say this game has a very niche appeal as you have to like tactical combat and stealth gameplay (watching patrols and waiting for perfect opportunities), at least on the top difficulties.

When it first released on game pass I started on hard with permadeath enabled to give myself a challenge.During the 3rd battle it's 2v2 and I'm leaning against this cabin (still undetected) and the enemy looking away I break from cover and begin a stealth attack and as soon as I enter his red zone I'm detected. My Duck guy gets shot and is in need of help so my pig guy kills both baddies thinking that's that and both get xp and whatnot.Since I did not help my duck guy before finishing the fight he died permanently even though he had 2 rounds left for me to save him and I killed both.I quit game and will be back for another go....sometime in the near future.

Go to setting and then TV inputs on your tv and set it it to HDMI 2.0 instead of automatic. That should work I think.

Alright, I’ve eyed DA Inquisition every time the GOTY is on sale, so I bought it. Thanks for the feedback on the DLC, it’s definitely a good deal.
When I did my Xbox year in review, it was listed as my top playing game. I pic most of my games depending on whether they have a strong story and Inquisition didn’t disappoint. I thought the progression of your player and the world combined with some twists reallly brought it together. It’s been a while but some of the big questions and true resolution to the game don’t happen until one of the dlc stories. Enjoy.

Hoping maybe someone might know - Is Star Wars Battlefront 2015 still active on Xb1? I loved playing the game when it launched and actually preferred its gameplay to BF2 2017 and with it on sale for $5 I'm curious if it's worth picking up (I played primarily on PS4) or if it's completely dead to BF2.
It was still active when I played it early this year. Never played the sequel, so no way to compare population. I never had to wait for a match, though many of them ended up lopsided, at least the fighter modes. I bought it for $4.50 from last years BF sale. I think I already got my money's worth, from what little I played. One day I'll get back to it. But the backlog.

I expected the deals to suck this week, and they do... but at least I got a good laugh out of them trying to sell Forza 6 for the same price as Forza 7. lol

backup for what?
Backup to the digital version, never know what can happen sometimes. Glad it gave you a laugh, lol.

Edit: I also say this as someone whose internet service went down during the nationwide CenturyLink/Verizon outage a few days ago (New Mexico). Granted any games where online play is optional are still playable. Games that require a constant connection however... some people reported that Comcast/Xfinity services were also affected then too.

Glad I decided to just get Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon last night instead of waiting to see what is on sale this week.  Missed it when it was offered for GwG, but it's really fun even compared to Far Cry 3.
