Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Give me my gosh dang despecialized edition finally, especially now that they own Fox so no excuse, or don't even bother.
Did you read the article? It's long been thought Lucas ruined the original prints during the making of the special editions but they are working towards using different sources to get an adequate 4K original edition made.

Uh, OBVIOUSLY I SKIMMED IT AND THEN SAW A CAT AND FORGOT THE REST!

Thanks as always to Bloomy for posting the deals and everyone else for the fun deal discussion. I think the only thing I might grab is Guacamelee 2 Complete. I loved the first one and got it free multiple times, so maybe it’s time to support Drink Box a little bit (on sale, of course). Anyone got thoughts about the sequel if they’ve played?
Also, liking the Disney+ price and also SW 4K news (didn’t read the article but guessing they’re waiting until all 9 movies are out together?). Unfortunate that Disney owns so much of the damn entertainment industry now but if I can stream it all instead of purchasing 6 versions of all the stuff I want to watch (except SW of course - I’ll buy all that shit cuz I’m a sucker), might be worth the subscription.
Edit: Read the article. 2020 sounds about right, get the whole damn collection together. Plus, that gives me a year or so (probably holiday 2020 if I had to wager a guess) to save up for the inevitable ridiculous price tag.

I think Witcher 3 complete and Mad Max rebuy for $5 got me. Otherwise chugging away at game pass. Playing Prey today always makes me wonder, why is virtually every game a shooter. Hey guys we created this new world and lore...it’s a shooter. Always.

Better news than the sale: Disney working on a Star Wars 4K box set.

I've wondered if the deal Lucas made with Disney required that the Holiday Special could never be released. I think those releases will go a long way toward confirming that one way or the other. Wouldn't be Disney if they didn't attempt to monetize all the content they owned (except Song of the South, but even that looks like it will be heading to Disney+).

Some things need to remain in a vault.

The title WandaVision sounds like the name of a movie where a rich, uppity old white guy has to share a body with a sassy black woman.

I first thought Wanda Sykes was back and then thought maybe I misread it and it was Wakanda Vision. I was disappointed twice.

I think whatever you think of this or that content, the price is on point and a nice fu to other rising streaming providers. I’ll definitely subscribe especially if it’s got Disney junior stuff for my littler mes.

Wasnt quantum break some MS exclusive title? like MS published it or something?

Ahh yes, MS Studios with "Xbox One Console Exclusive" stamped right on the front.

Was one of my first Xbox one games I bought.

Yup, and it sold terribly, Remedy decided to almost completely ditch Xbox with control, and now MS doesnt try for exclusives.

Finally picked up the Divison and the 6000 points with it on the punch card, along with points for buying it. Thinking of Sniper Ghost Warrior with the Season Pass for $13. Any comments on how it is?

So disappointed in some of the changes in Just Cause 4. So you have no more reason to blow shit up other than chaos. Destroy everything in a base and it just respawns. I liked clearing shit out.

I think I'm going to throw up when this 4K set is actually announced. It says 4 discs per movie is the plan for 4K, or three for standard bluray. So I assume that means 1 4K disc, 1 1080p disc, 2 bonus materials discs per movie. All this times 9 movies comes to 36 discs, and the article also says they're considering including Rouge One and Solo into it, which would bump it to 44, though I don't think those should really be included with them.

The closest analogue coming to mind is Harry Potter. Its full 8 movie box retailed at $170 and only included 16 discs, half of which where the normal bluray that also had the bonus features.

Is this thing going to be $500? Time to start saving I guess.

The process sounds a lot like the Demastered edition made by fans, I wonder if they looked into their final release or had any contact with them, probably not knowing Disney. Still, it's probably a safe guess that Disney and Fox's archives have at least some higher quality sources than anything fans have been able to dig up, especially if they have been working on the OT since 2014 apparently.  I am curious to see what they can actually do to touch up the prequels as a lot of those effects look pretty bad by now, and I wonder if the Special Editions will still be included as bonus material or something for the OT.

The difference is MS funded Quantum Break's expensive ass budget and MS was one that decided to "ditch" Remedy. If Remedy could get MS to fund QB 2, AW 2, or some new big budget game, believe me, they would. Now Remedy is putting up their own money along with their publisher 505 games so if the game doesn't sell well it will have far reaching consequences for Remedy. There's a reason Control looks like a spin off of Quantum Break using repurposed assets and much smaller in scope due to the smaller budget.

The difference is MS funded Quantum Break's expensive ass budget and MS was one that decided to "ditch" Remedy. But then that goes back to the question of Why? If MS clearly was the one not interested in funding it why did Remedy feel the need to make a spinoff of Quantum Break using money out of their own pockets when it didn't sell well in the first place? Especially over creating a new IP or continuing with Alan Wake? If they proposed a better idea, they would probably would have had a better chance of getting funding.

Pretty weird that the Spring sale still hasn’t been announced by Major Nelson and isn’t highlighted on the store. Maybe they are just as embarrassed as we are.

I said LOOKS like a spinoff of Quantum Break. MS owns the QB IP. Control is not a spinoff. It's an original IP. The marketplace is much different. There aren't a lot of major third party publishers willing to fund big budget original IP story driven, linear, single player games, particularly by a studio who's last 2 games of that type only sold OK. It's why their relationship with a first party publisher like MS gave them the resources to make the type of games with scale and scope and high production values Remedy likes to make.

Without that, Remedy is going to have to adjust, hence Control using a Metroidvania game design to maximize gameplay and high production values using limited resources that wouldn't be possible to there preferred big budget, story driven linear design with heavy cutscenes.

I think the official announcement will come the day after the :360: sales go live, whenever that is.

Some pretty good games i'm interested in.

I think I might Witcher 3 complete. For $15 I finally have a 4k TV so is there any noticeable visual upgrades with it for the one X enhancement to make it worth the $15. I have the Witcher 3 on my regular ps4.

Dirt rally 2.0 , not sure If I want to get the deluxe
Ace combat 7.

Every time Ghost Recon Wildlands goes on sale like this.. I come super close to buying it, and let the sale end.

Again.. on sale... ready to purchase. I know i'll wait till the last day again... and probably pass it up.

And if I do buy it, it will go to gamepass the next week or go on a insane sale the next time. (And I probably still wouldn't have fired it up by then...)

If I buy the $1 for 1 month Gold deal, can I turn off auto-renew right away, delete my credit card from the account and redeem a 12 month code from Xbox Rewards?

I didnt even realize you said spinoff in your reply. That's simply what I saw it as and personally still believe thats what it is. Time bending, futuristic setting where you can move objects. It isn't quantum break, but it's literally a game set in the quantum break world.

I get that they're trying new things, but from that and what I've seen it's similar to recore, and we all know how that turned out.

Well all of Remedy games are vaugely tied into the same universe. Shame we couldn't get an Avengers type of game with Max Payne, Alan Wake, Jack Joyce, and Jesse Faden.

Games on sale for 360 look to be live on the Spring Sale page on Xbox website. Filter all 360 games. Looks like 180+ games on sale at the moment.

Some decent stuff here. I'll probably finally bite on Eternal Sonata and maybe Ducktales. I'm really running out of 360 stuff I'm interested in that I don't already own yet. Mass Effect DLC not on sale, doesn't look like many DLCs on sale in general.

Just [as] I expected, I'm more interested in the 360 games on sale.

I'll be buying these for sure:

Enslaved

Just Cause 2

Ridge Racer Unbounded (for $5 it's worth a try)

SoulCalibur V

Tekken 6

Tekken Tag Tournament 2

Edit: Turns out I already have JC2 and Tekken 6, so I decided to grab Binary Domain.

So much stuff I'm not too interested in that I would pick up if they were only a few dollars cheaper. Stuff like GRAW, Prince of Persia and Double Agent. If ubi would just make their games $5 whenever there is a sale instead of $8 I'd probably fold.

I picked up Full Metal Furies. I'm always looking for good couch co-op games and it's never been this cheap before. Might also pick up Sine Mora EX.

On the 360 side I'm definitely going to grab RE: Code Veronica. I'm glad it hit $5 so soon after going BC! Vanquish is also tempting.

I agree it's not an amazing sale. But it's solid -- good enough that if your backlog is nigh-empty you can find a cheap game to play.

If you use Microsoft rewards check your page before spending in the sale, there is another spend more earn more offer up. you should see a  big banner on top of the page or small box below under more activities. Edit:

I think the division punch cards got pulled a bit early. They had a 1 day left countdown as of last night and both are now gone. Noticed when I tried to grab the 250 points for an achievement after the long ass download.

Uh oh. After looking back at the list I've found 10+ games I'm interested in. Could anyone give me some input on any of the following:

Impact Winter
Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition
Kings Quest: Complete Season
How To Survive: Storm Warning Ed.
MX vs. ATV Supercross Encore
The Council: The Complete Season
Black The Fall
Lost Planet: Colonies (360)

And to a lesser extent....

Resident Evil 7 (would rather get this physically but haven't seen it this cheap in a while)
Remothered: Tormented Fathers
Red Faction Guerrilla Remarstered
Prince of Persia (360)
Tekken 6 (360)

Input on any of these would be great. Say I were to theoretically buy all of them, they would only cost a little over $100. Not bad for 13 games.

Finished combing through the 360 sales.
Only things that stood out were the prices on C&C stuff and Virtual-On OT ($5 each as opposed to the usual $7.50).

Everything else is the usual or inflated with BC tax. Meh. Doesn't help all the Xbone deals are worse than usual.

Think all I'll get is Ion Assault and the dumb Power Rangers Kinect game.

I loved Hollow Knight but I'm a sucker for Metroidvania style games. It does get really difficult at some points though.

Beautiful Katamari needs to be BC.

That Star Wars set sounds impressive. I know they can do amazing things, I wonder what sources they're turning to. Also an example of why multiple-format packages don't need to be a thing. Instead of extra feature discs just throw them on a single 4k disc along with one for the movie.

I'm tempted on Strange Brigade Deluxe for all the DLC.  Played a few levels of the main game and was really digging the style.

Too many good games to play these days

How's Sword Art Online fatal bullet? Thinking on getting base game for $15.
Theres a pretty generous demo if you want to try it out. Its a third-person loot shooter, much like Destiny or Borderlands you'll be trying to farm for the best weapons with all kinds of random effects (and I believe you can transfer abilities between guns or something). You have a party of 3 alongside you, one character being one you can customize its appearance completely like you can with yourself, and the other two being like 15+ characters from the tv show which are all unlocked early so you have a lot of options. Gunplay is probably closer to Borderlands and Saints Row than Destiny.

On the downside, no english voice acting, and dungeons can have a lot of repeating textures.

I very much enjoyed borderlands 1 on 360 back then and if it's as you say then yes I'm sure I'll enjoy it.Now the question is If I should get the base game or complete package.
