If people already have copies and are posting proof of their findings I don't think it's that big a deal, especially since it sounds like they have the day one patch already. Acting like it's going to have some massive change in three days isn't all that realistic. It's not quite the same as Anthem's early week on EA Access but it's probably a close comparison.

It took me forever to finish the Absolver quest because the "Reach level 5" achievement didn't pop. I had to go kill one of the bosses in order to get the second achievement (my first was the "Join a school" one), and of course I went with the twins for my boss, providing an extra challenge. BTW, if anyone is still doing the Absolver quest, killing a boss may be the fastest way to 2 achievements, as you get one for killing it and one for looting its weapon.
 
It's great that the only game pass quest I was planning on doing this month (Operencia) doesn't even work.

It's kind of funny reading posts by people that are getting absolutely destroyed in the first tower after the tutorial in MK11.  I was tempted to preorder this game (my main source of enjoyment of MKX and IJ2 was from the towers/multiverse stuff rather than online), but I think I'll just wait for the Legendary/XL version like I did with the previous NRS games.  Maybe they'll have balanced some of this stuff by then.

I guess I’ll form my own opinion on MK11 instead of relying on random dude on internet that’s uploaded something to YouTube. Unless someone can point me to an actual news outlet, review site, whatever, I don’t see any reason to freak out. I’ve loved everything NetherRealm has done, so I’m none too worried.

It's fine if you want to form your own opinions, really it's what most people should strive to do, but simply not being from an professional source doesn't discount what people have to say about what they've experienced and found so far. Waiting for posts from "actual news outlet or review site" doesn't exactly sound like forming your own opinion to me though. None of the official news sites are going to post about the kind of potentially harsh grinds that may be intended to make microtransactions appear more appealing, or anti-consumer decisions that definitely do exist like "you can't play these modes offline". The reason for that is that they have to abide by the review embargo that doesn't lift until the game is actually released.

On the other hand, you do see news sites posting about the datamined DLC list because it is not actually accessible to other means and could be construed as "speculation" or whatever.

I'm not telling people that they should or shouldn't play or enjoy a game based on most of these decisions, and I don't think anything found so far is going to be a deal breaker for most people. I'm just posting what the community has found because I think it can at least be relevant to discussion of a new game.

 
I can't believe we are basically a month and a half away from E3. I guess that's why Microsoft dropped the Xbox One SAD Edition already, you don't want to drop that on an E3 stage, so I guess I can give them credit for getting that out of the way before E3. Do you guys think we see the Xbox Two at E3 this year? I honestly have no expectations, I had some expectations last year that didn't pan out and I can't think of what I want to see this year. I am already really excited about some of the things announced for this year.

I honestly don't know what to expect from Microsoft, I just hope they don't spend the whole press conference announcing a new Xbox Two all digital console coming out next year, hardware is great but I think they are still lacking in the first party games department, so they need to show us why we need an Xbox upgrade.

If they are moving to such an all digital future, I need to start seeing some variety in these Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall sales. I looked at the list this time and everything I want I already picked up in a previous similar sale for the exact same price it is this time. We need more variety of titles or some lower bargain prices on some of the things that keep popping up again and again. It gets boring to see the same $5 titles everytime. That is my easy buy price, if something hits $5, so it would be nice to see some variety in that $5 range even if its really old games that came out around launch.

My point was basically, what Joe Schmoe says, doesn’t matter to me. The internet is an inherently negative place, even more so these days. It’s frankly just tiring to hear people shitting on things when they haven’t even seen, heard, played them yet.
 
Anyone have any input on DBZ Fighterz? Is the season pass worth the extra cash? Or should I get the base and wait until the SP has a greater discount?
 
It's hard to guess about the Xbox Two. I don't think we'll be seeing a big blowout for it yet, probably just a more specific tease than we had last year. This is likely going to be the last big E3 for Xbox One by itself, and if Sony really isn't doing another Sony Direct during E3 than I assume the game count is going to be higher than normal. On the "hardware" side I'd expect a bit more info on the streaming stuff before the Two.

From Xbox I'd love to see actual details on Halo Infinite, some sort of announcements from the purchased studios, and if they really get crazy a Smash announcement if Banjo, Steve, or Master Chief could actually happen. Gears 5 is probably going to be the biggest first-party showing since it's out this year, and Cyberpunk 2077 could manage to be one of the bigger third-parties again.

If Sony doesn't have ANY show, I'm curious where their usual marketing partner games like CoD and Destiny will show up. Destiny 2 is rumored to not be getting a big expansion after the current announced DLC is done, with development having shifted entirely to D3, so maybe Bungie won't show up at all.

The game itself is good, the DLC depends on your fondness for the included characters or their playstyles, unless you just want to own all the content. There are some good characters added but it has been pretty Goku-heavy (Dad Goku, Base Goku, Vegito, Gogeta, GT Goku) since that's what the hardcore DBZ fans apparently buy.

The DLC does go on sale by itself sometimes if you do decide to wait, unlike other Bamco fighters Tekken 7 and SoulCalibur VI.

If you played around October, they had removed HDR support (because it's a little broken) and the game looked really dull. But they re-implemented HDR about a month after due to community outcry.

I'm curious if it is listed as "new" because changes are coming, like HDR getting fixed, or if it's just a mistake.

 
Checked out some World War Z at a friends. Seems basically like a 3rd person camera Left for Dead sequel, in a good way. The banter of the other characters, to the music cues and styles of the Special Inflected all pull heavily from that series. The Horde piling on itself is pretty cool looking effect although I'm sure that will lose it's luster over time. More in depth weapon system with upgrades and what not instead of tossing and grabbing guns without much thought. Probably not enough there for me personally at $40 still but if it something that stays updated, maybe I'll grab on the first decent sale or hold out hope for Game Pass.

Motor cross one was the only quest I was able to complete without any issue and it was basically instant. Like it seems everyone else in the thread had no luck with Oprencia. Only the 1st one unlocked for me and I'm on 5th achievement in that.

I still can’t get the motocross 360 achievement to work. Regarding that set I was surprised that the 360 game is the only one of the trio that I thought was at all fun.
 
I had no problems with the first two unlocking in Oprencia.

I did have the problems  with the 360 game MX vs ATV Reflex working. I think the problem is the game is not automatically logging you online when you load it up. But after making sure from the 360 dashboard on the xbox 1 I was  logged in online I got it to work.   

Then once again the Game Pass Quest Master wouldn't unlock.  Even a extra achievement  wouldn't unlock it. Had to contact support to get my 500 points.

 
I finally have another quest but it is not gamepass. I have a Metro one where I have to own all 3 Metro games, not buying the 3rd just yet.

Wish I had these Gamepass quests like everyone else, already don't get as much points for searching.

Saw the Edge app offer on the Xbox the other day.

How long should it take for the 500 points and double mobile points?

I'm looking forward to this. Enjoyed the ship parts in Assassin's Creed. As far as I can tell there's been nothing about it since its reveal. They had sign ups for the beta but no word since. It's in best buys system on the app but the option to preorder is grayed out.
 
I predict they will end E3 with an announcement that Lollipop Chainsaw is BC and X1X enhanced....then Phil will drop the mic and exit stage left to glorious applause

can anyone help me? I see an advertisement on my xbox dashboard for xbox gamepass $1 for 3 months but when I go to subscribe I only see the 2 week trial or $11.99 for one month! What gives? I am from Canada and my Gold sub is expired for the moment if those things matter.

 
Tried Marvel vs Capcom Infinite. Glad I didn't buy it, all the elements for a good game are there but something just feels off. Character movement is a little slow, and some of the controls are so streamlined that I'm having trouble playing it after years of Alpha 2, MvC2, etc., the familiarity is there but then I end up doing the wrong thing.

I figured at least story mode would be worth it, but the load times are so long between cut scenes and battles that I end up getting bored.

Meant to reply to this earlier. Can’t comment on the season pass but the base game is awesome. I’m a fairly casual player of fighters but I consider DB Fighterz to be the best in the genre so far this gen.

Fairly easy to learn at least enough to be dangerous but with tons of different combos and wild dazzling results on screen. Great game.

I just played “Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Loading” too and it’s terrible. I’m happy I didn’t spend a cent on it

So many games have found clever ways to mask load times, and some of those cutscenes are sooo long. You'd think they could preload the fights in the background, but you'd be wrong. Arcade mode is okay, but still a disappointment and none of it justifies a 64GB footprint. All that data on the drive, and the load times are like PS3 discs.

Also, the character choices clearly reflect the push for Avengers and all things MCU right now. Who the fuck thought Dormamu should be a playable character but make Venom and Black Widow DLC?

MVCI was peak Marvel/MCU meddling.  Thankfully that should be over now thanks to our new combined Disney+Fox overlord.  Spider-Man PS4 got a patch to add Fantastic Four stuff in pretty quickly when the deal went down.

Mine worked about 2AM this morning. I know that's not helpful but I don't think it has anything to do with your Gold sub.

You've got to factor in the recycling as well. Dormammu was playable in MvC3 as well so his moveset and animations were already ready. I think they reused the same model as well. They did remake some models like Captain America, but others were pretty obviously just imported, like Chris Redfield. Aside from the totally MCU Marvel roster, you have weird choices on the Capcom side as well. Like only having 2 new Capcom reps, or the return of Bionic Command reboot-designed Spencer. Even on the new characters there is recycling. The majority of Gamora's animations are reused from different MvC3 and Tatsunoko vs Capcom characters.

I would love to know the details on MvC:I, and why it's budget was presumably so low. If it was hampered due to Marvel, if Capcom saw it as a way to make a quick buck, whatever. I'm glad Capcom has shifted the guy who was in charge of Monster Hunter over to fighting games now, hopefully he can bring them up to the standards of the rest of their current games. An MCU focused MvC could be the biggest game the series has ever seen.

We don't actually know if this is the case or not. I think it likely is why it was only MCU characters but if you look back at MvC the majority of the new to the series Marvel characters also ended up getting MCU representation later. When Iron Fist and Rocket Raccoon were announced there was a lot of "WHO?" going around. Marvel having character requirements did not need to mean the rest of the game had to be as fucked as it was, even if the loss of all X-Men was a huge blow to the roster that fans wanted. It also didn't explain the laziness of Capcom's half of the roster.
