Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Also, Schafer is a hack who doesn't know how to budget and Double Fine has definitely fallen from grace. So while the Double Fine acquisition was probably cheap (I assume they were desperate for money to fund Psychonauts 2), I'm not particularly hyped by the buyout. At least the chances of a Stacking 2 and a good Costume Quest sequel have increased though.
Serves you right, now you'll know how we feel - with a wife who keeps hogging the TV & a son a who keeps snatching the controller away coz it's his turn. Its always his turn. Thankfully the mom usually puts an end to the argument by taking away everyone's TV time. *eye roll*
My dad is the one who hogs the TV.
Shouldn't have bought Fallout 3 almost a decade ago, that was what got him back into gaming.

I really hope they start to phase out the original and S line of Xbox's. Halo Infinite being playable on Xbox One has me worried they'll end up holding back the more powerful systems. No reason to upgrade from my X next year if there is going to be parity.

Possibly, but at least with the multiplayer first party stuff like Gears 4 and Halo 5 all the updates were free, though supported by lootboxes. Hard to say if this will stick around if the regulation stuff actually kicks in. Definitely felt on games with expansions like Forza. In theory, subscriptions are supposed to take the place of the base $60, though we probably won't know if this model is truly working for a while.
I'm curious as how you felt FH4 had more content pushed to DLC? FH 4 has had 2 expansions (Fortune Island and LEGO), a car pass, an unlockable map, and a vip membership so far. FH2 and FH3 had the exact same amount of DLC. Base games had about the same amount of content too.

This new windows update is taking forever to install.

Bethesda up next... I hope they have more than just Doom, Wolfenstein and ESO/Fallout 76 updates.

There won't be parity. There isn't even parity now (many games are X Enhanced at release). Base Xbone versions will probably tank in performance sooner rather than later, with them just needing to "work" being the only requirement.

Leaks also say that the Evil Within and the Dishonoured teams are getting new games. So Evil Within 3 maybe and a new IP (Dishonoured 3 is 100% not happening).
RAGE 2 and Quake Champs will probably get something, and there'll be some shit on the mobiletrash they have out.
Keep in mind that they have 2 Wolf games and DOOM Eternal out this year, so they're not short on announced games in development.

I think were talking 2 different drives on the system, a mass storage and a SSD that's more like the PCIE stick computers use now. Granted internal storage on consoles has been way overpriced this whole gen compared to what you can get external with USB 3.0 and also at faster speeds.
I think this is likely as well - it wouldn't be hard to have a 250G SSD that just caches the most recent games you've played, while storing everything on a 1 or 2 TB spinning drive. And if you play something "new" that's already on the spinning drive, the install/cache process wouldn't take too long for the local copy from HD to SSD at ~100MB/sec.

For those wondering about Tales of Arise, it's on Xbox One and PS4. If it's anything like the remaster of Tales of Vesperia, you'll want the Ps4 version if you have one. As the X1 version ran at 30 FPS most of the time, while the PS4 version was 60 FPS the whole time.
This might be true for X1/X1S, but assuming the game has X1X support, performance is likely to exceed anything the PS4 can offer, even the Pro. Keep in mind that X1/X1S hardware is very poor compared to either PS4 model.

Starfield and ES6 will not be there, they already said that on Twitter.

If games like Doom and Wolf 2 can run on Switch I don't think Halo is going to have a problem. It really depends on both the engine and the team responsible for the platform.

Plus, this game has theoretically been designed for Xbox One first and then is being ported to Scarlet. Since the two systems sound like they have the same basic architecture it shouldn't be that hard to scale games up or down based on the specs available.

I don't, I was just saying they still did paid DLC over the free models that other first party games used this gen.

I love Horizon but I think something that made me not invest as much in 4 as I did 3 was the lack of music integration. I know I can play Spotify with my games but w/e music service MS dropped was the reason I got so into FH3.

I have no idea if this is true but I have seen it on twitter. I have crackdown 3 marvel vs capcom and guacamelee 2 in my install list. 3 games I actually didn’t own and I am hoping it’s from the mixpot. If so man Xbox killed it with what they gave away. Still nothing official posted on what the mixpot is and nothing in my purchase list on the web site nor mixer notices.

Edit nm I guess it’s just cross platform game pass games.

They're from gamepass.

Makes me also wonder about other Xbox One controllers. Can I assume that my Design Lab controller will move forward or that I can continue using my Project Scorpio controller in the future? Or is it only this new version of the Elite?

So question about game pass ultimate. So I upgraded my gold to ultimate for $1 just to see cuz my gold expires next month. Now if I buy a year of gold cheap how does that work? Will it get added to ultimate or will I revert back to just gold? Like how do I add more to ultimate?

Also I’m pretty excited over Microsoft’s E3 presentation. Now I’m looking forward to inside Xbox and Nintendo’s direct.

Pretty sure you are out of luck. You need to add the time before you upgrade. You probably have to just pay the normal ultimate price now.

You should have bought more before you bought Ultimate. You lost out basically. Give me a sec, someone did mention if you did this, there was a way to cancel and get the full benefits.

Another interesting game at least. I wish they'd just do a shorter show with all the bangers instead of like 60% filler trash.

Seems like there is another correct leak from this morning on 4chan. They had the correct name for Deathloop and a few things that were in the Xbox show.

Interesting choice to advertise technology that is aimed at game developers and publishers. This Orion thing is worthless to us as consumers.

Now I see why Stadia has so many Bethesda titles in particular confirmed for it.

It's to get people talking about it so that publishers implement it AND calm people's concerns about streaming their games (data caps, latency).

The numbers that they purchase their components in will help make $400 or $500 more feasible for their launch plans, especially with another year for costs to go down. My PC is about six years old at this point with an SSD as the master drive and it's completely silent even when playing games. SSDs are quiet drives because there are no moving parts, so that won't add to the noise.
More feasible, sure, but I just can't imagine that everything they're promising for these is going to be profitable at $500. Then again, I'm sure both companies have had their top-end consoles be loss leaders since at least the Xbox.

And the SSD being quiet sure hasn't kept this laptop quiet (I'm guessing the fan overcompensates when a lot of RAM is in use, because that's typically when it whirs).

How about this? I didn't say shit to you until you wanted me to know you're no hater since you own 4 X1s. I said cool story, you do you. You just won't let it go. Every post you want to add more to your "cred" while shitting on someone or the E3 brief. I mean man, you posted in an Xbox Deals thread that Sony won without trying. Nothing to back it up, just flame fuel. You got your damn party, your damn attention so live with it. There are those of us that we're excited for a change, you weren't. Good, go sulk in the damn corner and let us have our happy moments.

Damn man, you pulled the damn trigger about a company and can't fathom disagreement? On the internet?
Writing me paragraphs, yeah you big mad.

So 2 new real games, 1 new mobile game, Orion and a bunch of updates. Not terrible but MS obviously had a better conference.
Hyped for DOOM Eternal, Ghostwire and Deathloop (as long as Deathloop isn't a mobile game). Orion is also something to look forward to.

I assume they changed up the MP and specifically showed it since DOOM's MP was not particularly good or populated at launch to the point where they had to make the DLC free and completely overhaul everything outside of the combat.

Also, guessing the 360 deals won't be announced until sometime monday night(during their usual sale times).

Making me wonder if it's a bunch of crap this time. Better not be more Sea of Thieves stuff, that game has gotten old for most.
yeah better not be no Sea Of Thieves stuff or a random outfit or gun for a different game..hope its actually a game

Personally nothing these companies say with their streaming promises is doing it for me. They can talk all they want but these services are going to be more or less viable to each person based on what internet infrastructure is available to them. The fact that Google specifically said that Stadia at 4K will burn through one terabyte of data in 65 hours kills it for me and other people who play a lot with Comcast, who have a 1 TB datacap. Maybe Orion will help with that but this should already be know since Bethesda has games on their service.

I don't want to give up my rights to a game to a streaming service. It will be a nice bonus, but companies pushing for it as the entire platform are not what I want. Bethesda in particular should be aware of this since their main games are built on the backs of mods, which will not be a thing with services like Stadia. Hell, this even applies to Id if we look back at Doom and Quake that are still have big mod scenes to this day, and Quake just is making waves in ray-tracing now, with a project that started as a mod.

My thoughts exactly. I thought it was better than EA (1 game I liked in Star Wars) compared to 3 games I liked (Doom, Deathloop, Ghostwire).

Mixer replied on twitter to someone asking if there was a mixpot and said yes and posted a link to their blog, skimming through it I only seen an onyx 4 pack for watching some sea of thieves crap tomorrow so hopefully it’s not just that.
