Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Still torn on getting a switch. Was hoping for a revision announcement. Hesitant to buy a console if they release an updated version. Plus not super interested in all the ports but the new stuff looks decent.
The most recent rumors were saying a "Switch Lite" is the one that's close to launch, whatever that means. I feel like it would have been announced today if it was coming this year though. It's hard to guess with Nintendo. I don't know if they'll really buckle down and make something vastly more powerful. Our only real example to go off was the New Nintendo 3DS line, and that was a fairly minor upgrade that only a few games really made use of beyond faster loads.

Personally if there are enough games for you to want to jump in I don't think you'll miss much waiting for a revision. Whatever they do it won't be anywhere near the level off boost to games that it would need actually make that much of a difference. At least in first party games, the only one I know that has any performance issues of note is Breath of the Wild, and only in one fog heavy location.

Not too terribly excited on the Switch stuff. Even have my son’s Switch hooked up to my main TV and readily available to play. Most of his games I already have played on Wii U and the others just haven’t hooked me for some reason. There’s a few indie exclusives like Marble It Up! that I’d like to play that he doesn’t have (speaking of which Marble Blast Ultra is another game I wanted BC).

I still need to finish the first Breath of the Wild, lol.

I'll be honest, I keep forgetting Microsoft even announced a new console because it was the same kinda "We asked developers..." spiel and all that. Plus nothing to show for. It's not as good a mic drop as here's a bear wearing shorts with a bird in a backpack fighting children.

And I want my damn Switch Pro, Switch X, whatever it's called. Only reason I haven't gotten the console yet.

Maybe this is controversial for my fellow alphabetical sorting folks here, but they kind of borked that fix for the library app. Games that start with "A" like "A Kingdom for Keflings" are listed under the second word in alphabetical sorting now, so I no longer saw A Kingdom/World for Keflings at the top of the list to cause me some confusion for a bit. Games starting with "The" should absolutely be listed where the second word should be, but "A" should be back at the top of the list again.

Switch has been out for over 2 years. You didn't buy one because you were waiting for the revision of it? Did you also not buy an Xbox One because you were waiting for the One S or One X?

Minor update for Master Chief Collection. It's mostly small tweaks and fixes for playlists and gametypes. The highlight is probably the correction of the Halo 1 rocket launcher. Removing the auto-aim that was added in MCC and the PC version it was based on. They also finally fixed the Cowboy Hat emblem so I can go back to my original Halo 3 look.

Patch notes, and a technical explanation:

I loved BoTW but you know it won't be out until at LEAST 2021.
I think it has a chance at late next year. Engine is already good to go, it's been like 2 years, and this was by far a more complete looking trailer than pretty much anything BOTW had until close to launch. Remember, Majora's Mask was cranked out in about a year by reusing the engine and assets of Ocarina of Time.

I think the big deciding factor here will be what location the game actually takes place in. If they are reusing the BOTW map for the most part with added stuff or a dark world version, it seems possible for next year. It looks like the castle in the trailer is about to take of into the sky so I guess it depends if Link and Zelda are taken off to a new (or old) land or if simply one of them is captured and the castle becomes a sort of sky-base that you need to get to.

There are a few notable things to pick out here. The guy is clearly this timeline's version of Ganondorf, and there are strong Twilight Realm vibes. Zelda's short hair screams playable to me, but given their past comments I just don't know if "this" Zelda would make sense unless she plays totally differently than Link. Ganondorf does clearly grab Link's arm and not Zelda's around 0:44 in the trailer.

:shame:

Either ignore both articles, or embrace them. None of this "Have it my way" bull pucky.

Really hoping those Konami collections get a physical mega-disc release (Contra, Castlevania, Arcade).

Trials of Mana is coming to PS4, Steam and Switch, why does Xbox always get the shaft on these Square remakes?
Very frustrating, especially considering that porting a game like this would be very easy when it's already on Steam. Hell, most Steam games come with Xbox controller support built in, so even the button prompts are already there. It's purely a business thing. Wouldn't be surprised if Sony paid them to keep it off Xbox.

Does gears 4 have separate installs for single and multiplayer? I got 2 updates at the same time last night that were both just "gears of war 4."

I got my Switch exactly one year ago when Gamestop had a pretty ridiculous offer after E3 for $250 credit on an Xbox One S, so I flipped my minecraft model I got for $180 from Meijer into that. 95% of my time with it is Tetris99 but that's a tough sell for a piece of $300 hardware. Looking forward to Mario Maker 2 though so I'll nab that. Did they say anything about the new Breath of the Wild Zelda having dungeons? I haven't been hooked yet by the first one and knowing no traditional dungeons is kind of a bummer for me.

Switch has been out for over 2 years. You didn't buy one because you were waiting for the revision of it? Did you also not buy an Xbox One because you were waiting for the One S or One X?
XBox One came out in 2013. S model came out in 2016 with slight upgrades and X came out in 2017. That's more than two years and I don't even think we're even in the mid point of the Switch life cycle and those rumors (some confirmed by Nintendo) have persisted since late last year, So yeah, I can wait another year or two to see if that upgraded Switch comes to fruition. Plus it's still a Nintendo handheld, you always wait to get the next version up,

Not what I asked.

BINGO. unfortunately, there is still some bias against western-developed consoles
I think they're finally at least testing us with all the Final Fantasy ports. The super late Nier Automata port sold pretty well I think. Otherwise it seems like they only want to risk porting their most popular (in the West) series like Final Fantasy.

It's not just Xbox that they make questionable choices with though. That big Dragon Quest XI update and all of its associated additions is only on Switch, with not even a DLC option on PS4.

The Target deal, right?
I think it was $330 with $50 Target GC.
I got mine at the time as well.
More like I cashed out everything in my third Bing account before it got banned and got the Kinect Unity bundle at Amazon for about $185...

Even typing that I'm impressed at how patient I was to do that.

Whenever the Ass Creed Unity holiday bundle showed up.
Okay well that was just the Xbox One. My point is that you didn't wait for the One S or X. You got the original Xbox One. That bundle you bought came out Nov 2nd 2014. One S released in August of 2016, less than 2 years later. So I'm still wondering why you are waiting to buy a Switch when you bought a One less than 2 years before M$ released a better version in the One S. Switch released March 3rd 2017. Here we are close to 2 1/2 years later, and Nintendo hasn't even announced a newer switch yet. You can see why there really isn't a reason to wait for something they haven't even hinted at yet. It's all rumors.

I know it's in gamepass but I'm thinking Riverbond may be an E3 mixpot game since it displays as "owned" for me where as other gamepass games don't... My kids have been playing it the last few days and have been getting a kick out of it but I hope that isn't the meat and potatos of the mixpot...

I Need either a price drop or a newer sexier model. These are my demands. XBox fulfilled that for me during the Christmas season by dropping a $100 off on it or so. I'll get it eventually and as much as it does pain me that I haven't played new Mario hotness, I can wait it out longer to see if anything comes to fruition next year or so.

Okay so you refuse to buy used then I take it? Right now on offer up near me, a seller has a complete Switch with 6 good games,(Mario, Zelda, Mario kart etc) for $300. Awesome deal but it's no biggie for me if you keep on waiting. I've already played these amazing games. It would be tough for me to wait to buy a system just hoping one day they release a better one or lower the price. Maybe you can score a brand new black friday deal.

He said he waited on a sale. That Unity Kinect Bundle for $185 was probably out of pocket and maybe he cashed out like $50 worth of Bind credit. That's still saving like $100-150, maybe 30% off, on a console with games.

The best Switch bundles I've seen are still $250 when the system is $300, and I know I'd want a controller which is a $60 add on. For a card caring Cheapass, I don't blame him for waiting on a revision to at least drop the price some more.

Also, of course he bought the new Xbox before a new Nintedo.

*edit*Used electronics is for a whole 'nother level of cheapass.

I don't think anyone mentioned it yet, but Gamepass Ultimate seems like a really good value. Did you know if you stack Xbl Gold or Gamepass sub before upgrading you get a better value?

Obviously not a Switch!

Please don't ask me what else.
If you change your mind let me know, I'll sell a brand new one for

I jumped on the Ultimate upgrade and grabbed a 24 month code from Costco online. All in all, just shy of $102 for 3 years of Xbox Live & Game Pass (had some leftover months).
