Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

I just started Borderlands 2 but haven't made it far yet. How far into it are you? Happy to co-op, shoot me a DM when you see me on.
Dude, you might've just saved Borderlands for me. I'm at lvl 15 or 16 and was about to put the game down for good due to boredom. Tried on 360 and now XB1. It's just not a very fun game solo. I'm down to play coop whenever though. It's my main game for now.

I'm going to watch Dark Phoenix now (dollar movies ftw) and I'll be back on tonight if you're up that late. If not, tomorrow works too.

Anyone have a spare buddy invite for the new Wolfenstein? I need to get those extra 250 points from the punch card, unless there's no achievements in the game trial...

Hit me up also, usually on late nights

Pulled up resident evil 4 yesterday because I really remembered enjoying it on the wii. Start the game and was quickly reminded about the lack of dual stick control. I kept trying to turn my head with the right stick, changed button configurations multiple times, tried to adapt but got frustrated and deleted it. Some memories are better left that.

I recently downloaded Resident Evil 4 as well, never played it but always heard great things but that control lay out sounds horrible. Think I may pass as well.

I've been enjoying it. Maybe the fact that I originally played it with a GameCube controller helps.

I did have the change the controls though. The second option that lets me move and aim with the left stick works well for me. When I tried playing with the default dual-stick layout I also had problems with unintentionally swinging the camera around.

If you pass you're missing a great game for its time when it was released and it still holds up extremely well.As for the controls you get used to them by the 1st village that you encounter as you learn to adapt pretty quick .

Question: I found a stack of 360 dlc codes that I never activated however long ago. I suspect most of them will still redeem. If I enter them into Xbox.com though I get a message along the lines of codes can't be entered through the website and must be activated through a console. Can I activate them through an Xbox One or must I set up a 360 to get them to activate?

Saw Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I Dare put the last fifteen minutes of that movie on par with the final battle in Avengers Endgame for cinematic brilliance this year.

Just the kick in the pants I need to brave the heat and go see QT's Ninth.
You'll either greatly agree or think I'm insane, but me and my friend walked into that movie unsure, but by the end everything was put together in such a way that I was reminded "oh yeah, no other director/writer would've thought this was a great idea."

I don't play or even watch fortnite anymore but damn, congrats to this kid for winning the World Cup and 3 million.

Did you enjoy some popcorn?

Any suggestions for anything from the anime sale going on? I know it's not games but it's Xbox live. I already own cowboy Bebop and a bunch of the first seasons from free promos in the past but trying to find new stuff I might like is always cool especially when there's a sale. Think I might buy the Digimon 6 movie collection as I still think the original Digimon movie (dub) is one of my favorite movies of all time. It's so hilarious

The Digimon movie collection follows the original 8, and a new threat. I've seen the first 2 or 3 movies, and they're great. Have the feel of the show like it just left off. Also, I believe everyone's mega form is shown off, which is cool.

Yeah I didn't enjoy the base building mechanic in Fallout 4 at all, and assumed that what most of Fallout 76 was going to be.

So John from Digital Foundry confirmed on Twitter that Doom 3 is native 4K on X. I might have to get it now.

Dammit. Now I going to have to pick this version up. Never even played through my 360 version in my backlog, I played it on OG Xbox (Edit: for $10 this was and easy buy. Looks like I'll be trading in that 360 disc). I wonder if Doom and Doom II have received any upgrades over the 360 versions? I might pick these up too since my backwards compatible version of Doom crashes every time I beat a level while connected to Xbox Live (works fine when I'm offline). Also super excited to stumble upon this when looking for John's tweet:

What about the big question? Is the flashlight always there on the Xbox versions of Doom 3 since there are no mods?
It may be the BFG version, but the tweets talking about the game with John Linneman sound like the game looks amazing on new TVs. The pitch black moments really stand out now where they looked grey and washed out with older TVs

Personally as long as I have space I'd prefer to have physical since it's easier to share stuff, my disc can't get delisted, and I can sell stuff if I want to. Busted ass games that need patches to function definitely put a damper on them, as do games that are online only, but in general I'm still happy with the arrangement in general.

If more benefits crop up over time like Xbox's Game Sharing, I'll probably warm up to a more digital focused collection, but as is I'm not on board yet. Nonsense like what we thought was happening with this Doom release are why people like me are hesitant, and I think it's safe to assume we're not alone with how cold the reception to Stadia has been.
Let's forget for a moment if you're on a newer console you're playing the digital version.

Let's forget physical media is dead or dying and we're not going back, not even if you wish really hard.

And let us forget the physical games keep digital prices artificially high, so you're not saving money, you're costing us billions.

What concerns me is we're in earth's 6th great extinction, HUMANITY IS AT RISK AND DYING, and plastics are a HUGE reason for this. If fills our landfills and poisons our lakes, streams and oceans, OUR DRINKING WATER, and civilization will collapse with the oceans and this isn't even a concern of yours......lmao...smfh. #CagLife

I don't care if you're a delusional right winger who thinks science is a left wing conspiracy or that your sky god will fix everything so "don't worry". What I've said or DEMONSTRABLE FACTS......REALITY and you're not in it.

I really hate reading through this ....stuff. Let's not talk about saving money, let's talking how I don't care about anything but myself and my privilege. CagLife!

Instead of buying a game I won't play I bought a homeless Veteran shoes here in Vegas, it's hot with no shoes. Excuse me if I don't brag about wasting my money while my neighbors suffer. I know I don't fit in with the cool crowd.

So do you just buy a pair of shoes and hope they fit, or do you have to make the guy get up and follow you to JC Penny for some Chinese sweatshop shoes? And the moral superiority, that just comes with the shoes or is it an extra like gift wrap?

Warhammer 40k Inquisitor Martyr Imperium Ultimate Title Overload is pretty great. I've had a few crashes, a lot of pop-in textures, and the multiplayer matchmaking is lousy. I think it puts you in a random normal difficulty mission and won't start unless there's four people, which takes forever to find and then takes 5min to steamroll through. I found some guys in the club looking for a group, and partying up works just fine.

I really like that your abilities are all based on your equipment. Different classes have unique armor and weapons, but most of the gear you get access to eventually. I hated running around with a great axe in Diablo3 on a mage and functionally being an ugly staff. I've tried all the classes and they did a fine job making melee and ranged builds entertaining. I cannot recommend the Heavy Flamer enough. It may not be the best build, but it is highly satisfying.

I haven't gotten far enough to unlock the DLC, but for $2 its probably worth it. I do have some dumb pets to bite at my ankles. Wowee! Microtransactions!

Daniel Bryan?

also what's the plan to get the other 7 billion people not living in the United Sates to go along with all this?

buying a game you don't play still is helping someone put food on their table

What turned me off the most on fallout 4 is 2fold.1 how they underutilized the vats system from fallout 3 and NV and 2 how they implemented that building/renovating mechanic for homes/bases.
I just got to that point, I can already tell with Fallout's storage capacity stuff that they expect too much from me in wanting to pick up every piece of scrap I see to build something when I barely have room as is.

Just replace the soda with a copy of Madden 20 (or another game of choice).

So who pissed in your Xbox? Get off your high horse cause it's spreading crap all over the place. 6th great extinction, so who's to blame for the 1st 5 and who will be blamed when 7, 8, and 9 come along and we're not here to enjoy it?

I enjoyed wondering the world of Fallout 4 but god do i hate crafting weapons.  To me it kills the joy of looting buildings and the corpses of your enemies.  It goes from finding an awesome gun some where to finding an okay gun and having to through a bunch of crap on it to make it worth while.

I shouldn't feed the guy trolling this thread but it's a nice gesture to buy a homeless person shoes. However the fact that you have to bring it up publicly in a look at me type manner means that you didn't do it for the right reasons.

Did you also have someone film it for your YouTube or Facebook so people could praise you for what a good person you are

I'm glad someone said this so I didn't have to. I feel anytime you have to bring up your "good works" to get a pat on the back that you have undermined the act in the first place. Just do good things and move on. It's fine to feel good for doing them; just don't make everyone give you a standing ovation for doing it.
