Yeah, I think that guy was being a dick for the sake of being a dick than. Also there's only one scout in the whole mode (Kait), which drives me insane because that was my preferred class in 4, but people seem to constantly pick her then leave the game so all the more reason I've taken up robot Jesus as my main instead.

Also I do wish the game gave an icon next to each character so you'd know what class they are like in the last one as oppose to having me learn like some kinda nerd.

One more thing, I wish Gears did something like driveatars from Forza where it picks up the play style of friends in Horde so I don't have to rush out and constantly save the dumb AI who doesn't understand the whole hunker down and wait in later rounds.

It's one of the shorter games on the list as well, but the minimum is two playthroughs for all the achievements. About 5-7 hours for the first and if you got all the EASILY MISSABLE collectables in the first run, then about 2-3 hours for the second playthrough. I screwed up and used trueachievement's collectable guide. While it was thorough (there are some items in ridiculous hiding spots), the guide spoiled every single jump scare and plot point. It kind of ruined the immersion, but it's my own fault.

I noticed the opening screens of the game mention binaural audio. Usually this type of audio works best with in-ear headphones and gives an amazing 3D audio effect. For my second playthrough I am going to have to make sure to try it out. If you've never checked out binaural audio, put some in-ear headphones on and play the following video. It will be super pleasing to you ASMR freaks ;)

I’ve never played any horde mode until this game, mostly because I’d always wait for a deep discount on the games and by then I felt like it was too late to get into it. But I’m really loving it. So far I’ve been playing mostly as the Halo robot character Kat. I don’t know if I’m doing it right but it seems effective. I usually lockdown the area around the fabricator with fences and turrets covering each point of entry and leave the rest of the map unfortified. Then upgrade. I find that once I get to the later levels I spend most of my time just upkeeping my fortifications so I don’t want them too far out where I can’t get to them
 
Wife and I started Borderlands 3 last night, super fun again! We played 2 and all the DLC before. She wanted the Gunner so I did Beastmaster. We only played for an hour so I’m level 4 but I’m liking it so far!
 
I'm probably the only person on this thread wishing for a sale on Madden NFL 20. Free to play weekend got me hooked and I can't wait for it to hit the vault
 
Wow, I really hate the new Rakuten site. Maybe I'm just getting old, but it's so much more difficult to navigate than I'm used to.
 
As a veteran of buying the fall slate of sports games both pre- and post-EA Access:

  • Buying physically and then trading in (or selling on Craigslist) upon digital availability or sale within a few months is usually the move (though FIFA generally keeps value better than most and late into the summer)
  • There has almost always been a $40 price point somewhere for physical games before Black Friday (TRU and Target perpetually had B2G1s that I would nab Madden/NHL/2K at)
  • I'd be a bit surprised if there aren't $30-35 physical price points for Black Friday somewhere
  • You'll be waiting until at least the Super Bowl for Madden to enter the Vault, and likely later for the rest; NHL was only available as early as it was last year because of GWG, and FIFA notoriously takes forever to enter the Vault
  • If you only care about the single-player stuff and not Ultimate Team/MyTeam, obviously take your time; there will be some sort of online player base for regs when you get to the game

Cuphead is really fun. Beat all the bosses but skipped the platforming levels.

Finally a sekiro sale (can you tell what games I like?). But unless there is a sale on funny money I think I can wait for Black Friday where 40 seems possible.
 
Looks like all the old character chapters for Dead by Daylight are on sale for $3.99, not just the Halloween Chapter. But they are only listing as 9 hours left on sale. Did they pop up over the weekend and I didn't notice?

Is it playable? I tried playing it through EA Access and on both my consoles, it crashes trying to find a session. I was only able to get through the tutorial.

I never play online, so I couldn't tell ya. Sorry. It was decent in single-player from what I remember, but the idea of having a story mode in a racing game was confusing to me.

Seems to be a number of games on sale for the first time unless I just have poor memory.

Monster Boy looks intriguing, but dunno about that $30 price point.

Otherwise, probably picking up Miles & Kilo and Double Cross. Maybe Onimusha as well if anybody has thoughts there. Never played anything in the series.

You flatter me. I haven't done too much this month. Only 3k or so. :p

As for 100% game completions, 31 although a lot of them are "easy" 1ks. About to add Guacamelee to that list by the end of the week though as well. If we're adding story completions to that list, maybe another 5 on top of the soon to be 32.

Nope. Not online only. Perhaps more fun online. But you can play the story mode without playing against other live players. It's kind of a crossover between "The Fast and the Furious" and "Grand Theft Auto" except that you never leave the car.
