Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Uh, The Division 2 is not making a great impression so far. Two disconnects before I even made it out of the character creator. Disconnect during the opening cutscene. Disconnect during the first mission. Is it always like this?

Division 2 Gold (includes season 1 pass) has hit $40 or 60% off at least twice now. The last few years almost every xbox or ps4 game except a very select few have gone down to $30 of $35 Black Friday weekend.
Are you talking about physically? Maybe I'm mistaken but I dont think the digital gold edition has hit $40 when the cheapest the base game has been digital is $33.

I dont know if I've ever had a disconnect in that game...

Yup, according to TA, it was 40 while the base game was 30 August 27th. 60% vs 50%. I remember debating getting it instead of the base game for 20ish from cdkeys, but the pass is pretty useless.

$230 in Sims 4 dlc content on sale lol.

I reached 110 in Apex Season 2 tonight, got my gold gun right before season 3. It wasn’t worth it. They need better rewards. The lesson is, some things in life aren’t worth doing. I think I’m going to take a break for a while, maybe even skip season 3. Play more Borderlands 3 instead.

Thanks, something must be messed up with storeparser. Guess I'll have to figure out if I want to see if ghost recon gold will hit 50% off less than 2 months after release like odyssey did or potentially 6 months like division 2. Got the physical version for 30% off and a $10 gift card so it was an okay deal.

I'm holding off on buying any major titles until the black Friday sales. We know from experience that even games released in early November will still see a price cut

Same. There are movies I've been waiting on along with I'm going to upgrade my sound from 5.1 bar w/wireless rear speakers to the 5.1.4 version. It was on sale Prime Day for $450 from $700 and I expect at least the same.

I still have trouble buying anything thanks to gamepass. I've been saving my cash for switch games. Only games I needed day one were borderlands 3 and cyberpunk

Game pass now has 6 months of Spotify premium for new users

I'm so mad, I spent almost $100 on FH3 last week because I couldn't find any posts about recent deals for it, including BF last year. Now I wish I had followed my instincts and just waited until next month.

In related Game Pass news, Sony has adjusted the price of PS Now to compete with Game Pass. $10 monthly ala GP, or $60 annual (which MS has yet to offer on any Game Pass service). They are also putting some heavy hitters on there in a pretty clear move to compete with Microsoft.

Always interesting to see how one company pushes the other into doing things they'd never to otherwise, which is how we got GWG.

Can't find an hd vid without the PS labeling, but here is the Terminator gameplay. That intro is pretty subpar imo tho. Rest looks great however

That finishing move is badass, even if it's not canon :p

Unfortunately, he did not say "Hasta La Vista, Baby" beforehand and therefore it's 0/10 unplayable.

$60 a year isn’t bad. Wonder if the game streaming has gotten better? That would be my main thing is to play PS2 & PS3 games. Wish those were downloadable.

$5/month at $60 annual is actually a great price even if you only ever play games that download locally, especially if you've neglected the PS4 this gen like I have and are new to it. Assuming the PS5 works with PS Now (it'd be crazy for it not to with full PS4 BC), this is a great way for folks who skipped a gen to play old titles on next year's hardware.

MS still has the better offer IMHO, between day one first party titles and full BC / not streaming old games, but this is quite a competitive move.

Hopefully they fix that glitch where if you have psnow and download a game say resident evil 4 and it'll be giving you the license like purchasing it.So when RE4 goes on sale and you want to add it to your library it won't let you purchase because apparently you already have the license from psnow.

The weird thing with that PSNOW price drop is even those first party titles like God of War and Uncharted are only in the system until January 2020, so depending on what day in January that's only 3 months or 4 months. Looking over wikipedia it does look like the PS2 titles are downloadable but the selection is quite small, because that had me somewhat intrigued if just to check out some odd things I missed. PS3 looks like the majority.

For PS Now, if they run on PS4 hardware (like the PS2 ports which run native) then it's downloadable. Anything else (PS3, PS1, etc) is some Stadia bullshit.

I still don't see them throwing the cash around to secure major third parties the way Microsoft has - PS Now isn't central to their business strategy. Game Pass has completely changed how people use their Xbox.

They said every month, they will add a handful of "marquee" titles that will only be around for three months, if the initial batch is anything to go by. This is in addition to the "evergreen" titles that stay on the service for roughly a year. I expect the marquee titles to be on par with Game Pass games, and there's a huge library of Japanese games to draw from that aren't available on Xbox at all.

This PS Now news is even better than it appears initially because you don't need PS+ to play any of the games in PS Now online. You would need XBL Gold or Game Pass Ultimate to do that on Xbox, whereas PS Now is as low as $5/month if you do the annual plan. (You can wait for one of the $15 back when you spend $100 promotions to save a little more money.)

The last benefit to PS Now that shouldn't be overlooked is that cloud saves stay up indefinitely. So we all know cloud saves are free on Xbox One, but it's paywalled on PS4, PS3, and Xbox 360. PS Now circumvents that.

Looks like Amazon might have another weird promotion going for Prime members, they have Ghost Recon Breakpoint on sale for $49 then another $10 off for prime members. Not my kind of game, but $20 off at launch seems a decent discount

Thanks for the heads up.

I can not ever remember pre-ordering a game on amazon before. I know this game has release day delivery on it, but I thought I have read stories about amazon not delivering on time. Does any one have any experience with it? Thanks

90% of the time on release day, time of day depends on the carrier.

I’ve complained every time they messed up and got credit though. I got the last Metallica CD free, and games they gave me like $5-10 credit. Depending on how late it was.

The last year or so they have been on time though. But they use ups for me, so 5-8pm by the time they get to my house. Both Usps and fedex get to me by noon.

Thank you very much.

Amazon also uses UPS for me as well so it usually is in the same time frame as you.

So I booted up Destiny 2 because of the F2P, and it seems to have wiped my progress with the story quests (was in the middle of the first DLC on my Warlock and a bit through Forsaken on my Hunter). I'm hoping it's just a glitch because it would suck if I am locked out of those (as I am not wanting to start a new character from the beginning).

My siblings just surprised me with an Division 2 Xbox One X bundle as a late bday gift after they saw me constantly hard resetting my day one Xbox, I think it would eventually need internal replacement parts. I bought them a Titanfall Xbox back in the day and I do share my digital movies and games with them all the time. Pretty cool.

Anyway almost all my content are on an external hard drive but for the content in the internal hard drive, only option I have is to re-download right? Excited to see the enhancements from this baby.

You can copy to external if you have the room. If not, there's also a network transfer somewhere in settings > storage.

I don't think it was a glitch, but I also don't think you're locked out. I'm trying to remember what article I saw on Friday. It was basically a "to-do" list before Destiny 2 relaunched. Besides stuff like break down cosmetics and excess mods, one of the things said story progress was resetting. It was on Kotaku https://kotaku.com/your-destiny-2-to-do-list-for-this-weekend-1838544767

Well, that sucks. I didn't see any option of starting them over though. So it does look like I have to start a new character and play through everything again.

The game is now F2P on :xb1: :ps4: and :pc: and with cross-save you can take your characters to any of these platforms. I sure hope we get a large influx of people into the game because it is in a great place right now.

If anyone has any questions about the game, feel free to ask here or via PM.

Does cross-save carry over for the original Destiny? If I log into my PS4 for Destiny 2 and have my old character from my PS3 with Grimoire etc, that carries over to cross-save to Xbox. If I then boot up the original Destiny is there any progress reflected? I assume it is because the profile is all the same, but all the emphasis has been on D2.

There are 358 downloadable PS4 games and 462 PS3 games that can be streamed, which is 820 total games. There are 223 downloadable XB1/360 games on Game Pass.

EA paid out the ass to get everyone streaming Apex Legends again. They must really hope that new map will get people back on board. 300,000 viewers. There are bunch of people streaming that don't normally play Apex; like WoW, Hearthstone, and Just Chatting streamers, so I get the impression they're paying a LOT. The streamer I have on at the moment is gifting 5 subs per death with only 1000 viewers, and she's bad at the game.

Unfortunately, no, that will not work. Not exactly as you say, I mean. You would be able to use your same characters from PS3 D1 -> PS4 D1 -> PS4 D2, then enable cross save and you can use them on XB1 for D2, but the D1 progress doesn’t carry between consoles in any fashion.

I would hope it has more, given it's been around for 3 more years than GP and titles get removed from GP.
