Often overlooked, GoD are by default displayed in dollars both on Xbox.com as well as on the console, but on the very-first confirmation screen of the download process is the option to use Microsoft Points in place of real-world currency.

Through the console, after first selecting to download a GoD you are greeted by a familiar gray confirmation screen that pops up displaying the size of the download as well as confirming the price. At the bottom of this gray pop-up is the instruction to press the "X button" in order to change the payment type to MSP. Pictured below with an arrow:

On Xbox.com they've made it much more obvious, the confirmation "extra step" pop-up after clicking the download link displays a link that simply says "Use Microsoft Points" directly under the price in dollars at the top of the page.
The Next week BF3 sale has a price error on BF3 premium it should be 2600 ms points or something not 600
Thanks, I'm an idiot. I misread Major Nelson's post. Will update shortly.
Christ how many times can they put the serious sam games on sale.
Seriously!!! They couldn't think of a better sale this week. That's probably why Major Nelson posted the update the day of.

Well, I was waiting for Joyride Turbo to go on sale, so this week isn't a total loss. Not looking forward to the Battlefield 3 sale next week, though. I'm really hoping for a Forza or Need for Speed Most Wanted sale , particularly for the Forza 4 or Horizon season passes, or the Most Wanted Deluxe DLC Bundle.
I don't get why people call it rage quitting if you concede mid match. If you can't win and it's a waste of time to continue, there's no sense in wasting time.
because in most games, if a few people quit mid match then everyone is booted because "there aren't enough players to continue" or "connection with the host has been lost". This also generally means those that didn't want to quit will lose their experience, and by extension their time was completely wasted. If you start a game, you ought to finish it. It's called not being a sore loser. If it was simply an option to surrender, that would be one thing, but quiting out mid match just isn't nice at all.

Eventually that leads to no sense in playing. I gave up on Carcassonne because I was running into so many quitters the only time I got to finish a game is if it seemed like I was the one who was going to lose. A game that shuts itself off if you are going to win doesn't have much appeal.
Seems that the game it's 15 or 10 hours long, and the DLC about 2 hours. Anyways, I know that it usually takes me about a third more or even more of the time that webs say.
Thanks for this info on Serious Sam 3 BFE and Jewel of the Nile. It makes SS3 BFE seem well worthwhile at 400 for 10 hours and Jewel of the Nile very overpriced at 400 for 2 hours. I think I'll wait for Jewel of the Nile to hit 200.

I noticed I had the following notes entered in my want list for Joy Ride Turbo from the last time it was on sale for 400 points (back in November) when I tried the demo: "good racing game, but limited to 10 racing tracks + 2 stunt tracks, wait for cheaper". So given that it isn't any cheaper than last time, I think I'll pass again. So apart from trying the SS Double DD XL and Home Run Stars demo to see if I like them, I think SS3 BFE will be my only purchase this week.

Wow. Nothing for me in the next 2 weeks aside from Serious Sam XXL (which I just bought), guess I got 2 weeks to wait.
On a side note, I finally bought Left 4 Dead 1's sacrifice DLC. Found a group of people to play it with online so decided to splurge after it never going on sale. Which means it'll go on sale sometime in the next couple weeks.

Plus, with that surprisingly never happening to me yet (that I recall), it also means I'm due for something I buy to go on sale right after. ;)
Thanks! Been on the fence about finally giving in before the online is COMPLETELY dead. I'm missing 10 achievements from L4D1 (including the 5 from said DLC), and I have all of the L4D2 ones.

Never understood why you had to pay $7 for one map TWICE to play it on both games. As if $7 wasn't steep in the first place. Ugh.
WWE Allstars have been $19.99 on bestbuy.com and if you could find it in store, I believe new and pre-owned.
For me its about saving my cash and using my MSP instead, so thats why i havent bought this game yet. I think WWE All stars might give me some fun for a week or two maybe. Plus i would have to spend another 9 dollars on top of the 20 to get LOD, Bossman, Million Dollar Man. So im not too sure yet.

Just to be clear, WWE All-Stars is a permanent price drop right?

Play the demos. Serious Sam 1 & 2 are old school FPS games that are super frantic and revolve tons of running and shooting. I can't speak for 3 or DD XXL
are an of those serious sams worth it?
The core Sam games are built around the premise of keeping the player vastly unnumbered by the number of enemies it throws at you. They aren't a typical FPS were you're usually facing a half dozen guys at once, rather you're typically running from 20 or 30+ enemies at a time that are trying to relentlessly chase you down before you can gun them down. Everything about the series is over the top: from the bosses to the weapons. If you manage to survive the odds you can't help but feel like a bit of a badass. ;) The game also uses a score system to encourage repeated playthroughs.

It feel like an arcade game, sort of like a first-person Smash TV. I'd recommend the series without hesitation.
I'm so glad I skipped the previous 800 point sales on Serious Sam 3 BFE. I just grabbed it now for 400. I looked at a few reviews for Jewel of the Nile but none of them said how many hours of gameplay you're likely to get on the 3 new levels. Does anyone know?

Or asked differently... how long would it take to play through all of Serious Sam 3 BFE vs. Jewel of the Nile? Considering both are the same price and Jewel of the Nile is almost certainly a lot shorter, I'm not sure if I should wait for a lower price on the DLC. I watched a couple gameplay videos of Double D XXL and I'll have to try the demo on those.

And what's this "Gems Sale" for 160?
Howlongtobeat.com has SS3 as taking 9.5 hours to beat the basic game and 14 to beat it plus the extra stuff, they have Jewel of the Nile as taking just a little over 2 hours.
Wow Bejeweled 3 beat Zuma's Revenge? That's craziness to me.

just a heads up, this still seems to be only for EU.

I think XBLDB only scans the US marketplace, while that's on the UK one as part of a promotion there. US one still shows full price for Bejeweled 3.

It's still on sale. Hurry.

Yeah, very arcade/toony inspired. Fun games, though they can feel and get repetitive quite quickly, even with the variety of enemies, boss types, and weapons.
I think this weeks deals are ok. Next week's aren't great since they're DLC.
Could be a potential tip off that the May Rewards Punchcard will be based around DLC or (FP)S, similar to how all the DOTWs in April were XBLA related like the Punchcard.

Disappointing next two weeks! Gives me some time to recover though. Might end up picking up one of the Serious Sam games.
Can anyone comment on HomeRun Stars? I'm a big baseball fan, but not sure how much I'd bother playing it..
It's serviceable. It's kind of like a Kinect version of that mode in The Bigs 2 where you hit home runs into signs and whatnot, except it's Kinect so it is a bit frustrating. They do have one cool function where if you have a smartphone with Xbox Smartglass you can have another player use that to play as the pitcher. I've never actually touched it, but it sounded cool. I won the game off Playxbla when it first came out. Tried it a few times and it's not bad. If you're a huge baseball fan (I'm a Canadian living in Australia who has suddenly started to like cricket and rugby so not sure if I fit that criteria) it might be worth it for you. But don't expect anything deep when it comes to gameplay, it's just you swinging and hitting homeruns. It is gratifying when you do well though, I'd say that. My problem is that I barely play any of my Kinect games as I prefer just sitting on the couch and videogaming these days. So it's hard for me to truly recommend.
This may or may not be coming to XBLA (c'mon Larry Hryb is in the trailer), but PvZ2 now has a release date (sorta). July can't come here fast enough. Don't fuck it up EA!

This will come out on every playable system there is. You will find it on calculators. It will be playable on your toaster. Popcap will figure out how to make it work on an abacus. It will definitely be coming to Xbox live. Considering they've been working on it for 4 years now I reckon it'll come out on every format pretty much Day 1 unlike the original which trickled out.

I could use a new toaster, so this will be great news if actually true.

You and me both. Not that there's anything wrong with the toaster I currently have. Just that you can never have too many toasters. Maybe I'll get one of those Jesus ones and put some toast up on eBay.

Speaking of Jesus toast the latest Humble Bundle dropped and it's Double Fine. Sadly I own all the games on XBLA (other than Psychonauts which I have for PC/Mac but which doesn't run well on my old ass rig) so it's a pass for me. But they are great games. If you don't have them for XBLA it's a good time to grab them for your PC/Mac for a bargain price and you can always give your money to charity too which is win-win for everyone.
Oh wow, it went back up already? I was saving that as a last second decision as well. As I mentioned previously, I wanted it on North American PSN but that is literally the only platform it wasn't on sale for. Add to that Zen's somewhat cavalier response to disappointed PSN users ("I don't understand why people complain so much when we put our stuff on sale. Don't take offense, people. Wow.") and I guess I'm not too disappointed that I wasn't able to give them my $5.
count me in as well. Went to buy it at 7:40 central time after seeing this week's sales but wasn't too disappointed to save my points. To me it's money wasted for them. I was ready to buy at 400 because I was out of things to buy...so probably will never end up buying it. Shrug...picked up the scott pilgrim DLC last minute instead.

You forgot slot machines.

My local casino just got the P vs. Z slot machines but I haven't been out there to play them yet.

Hopefully go this weekend. :)

Will definitely get Ilomilo, but still on the fence about BFE.

Played the demo and it was fun, but I can see it getting repetitive. Leaning towards buying it though.

I'm on the fence with BFE as well. I think it's a pass for now, since I know I won't be playing it in the near future. I have a ton of shooter games (retail), and I don't play them (didn't even start playing them).

Is there an actual trailer or is that dumb video blog supposed to be the trailer? It's one of the worst promotional videos I've ever seen and it sort of killed my hype for the sequel.

Well if your enthusiasm for PvZ-2 has been killed that means you have room in your heart for Way of the Dogg. IGN did a quick-look at the demo the other day and man the reviews for it are through the roof. I quote: "menu of the year!"

This video will feed your hype for what is probably going to be a game we'll definitely be talking about at the end of 2013.

http://au.ign.com/videos/2013/05/06/wtf-is-snoop-doggs-xbox-live-arcade-game

If only Microsoft allowed me to buy 100 copies of this. I mean who doesn't love playing menus. I practically only buy games for the menus - mmm display options.

Though in all honesty. I've been watching a few of these "we play" videos lately and it's nice to know that everyone plays like me and just doesn't bother reading instructions and then fumbles for 10 minutes trying to figure out what to do because I chose not to read a one sentence instruction in a tutorial thinking "I don't need instructions, I've played games for year." So basically gamers are idiots - woot!

I guess this post makes about as much sense as the PVZ2 trailer.

Yeah, same here. Awfully lackluster "promotional" video if thats what it is..

Aww man, thanks to finals week I forgot to buy Star Wars pinball.... Oh well, whenever I actually feel like playing it I'll just pay full price.

I don't think I'll end up buying anything this week, but I'll consider Serious Sam 3 and Joy Ride. Next week I see myself buying Battlefield 3 Premium finally, unless I see the Premium Edition for around the same price somewhere.
