This has probably been asked before, but if your XBL Gold expires, you still keep any Gold-only deal you bought, right?
Yes that's the difference between the PS+ and XBL. Xbox Live users, Gold or otherwise, own their content forever (well as long as the servers are up to download it from) and you can even re-download delisted games that you have bought in the past. PS+ users lose their free games if ever their subscription lapses (though wow do they ever get some good games for free I think both Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Saints Row the Third are free there this month). So yes, just buy whatever on XBL and don't worry about losing it. It will probably be a number of years before we have the headache of worrying about not being able to access Xbox 360 downloadable content.

Hi guys, I would just like to know if any kind soul can recommend the best DLC for Sleeping Dogs? There are so many that I am rather overwhelmed.
This has been answered. Please see my title for further info.
Well, I read the OP and given the information is useful, I was just asking for general opinion on what the best DLC it is to buy.
Nightmare in North Point and Year Of The Snake are probably the best two. The Zodiak Tournament is great for style and stuff, but is comparatively short (FWIW it also has no achievements). I really liked all 3 though.
Thanks what about some of the smaller packs - anything worthwhile? (Want to take advantage of this sale).

I really dont like this new layout and look. In the days of LCDs looking at a white background is just a eyesore. >.<

Actually, you get to keep anything you buy with a PS+ discount as well, so it's not really any different. Not to mention the only free games for XBL Gold are Crash Course 2 and Happy Wars, which you don't get to play if you turn to silver. So they aren't really any different in that regard, just the fact PS+ gets a heck of a lot more games (not trying to start a console war, it's just the truth).

No need to start a console war. I don't think there's an Xbox user out there that doesn't look at some of the rewards PS+ subscribers get with a bit of envy. But the key difference I suppose is that if you ever renew your XBL Gold you get access to Happy Wars and CC2 again, whereas you might be a PS+ subscriber for 2 years, accrue 5 free games a month over 24 months, lapse on your subscription for a month and lose all those games in one swift punch to the groin. It's sort of a smart move on Sony's part to make you never ever want to let it lapse as you lose so much by doing so. I wish Microsoft would learn some evil techniques like that.

Wha? So If I get PS+ again I can't redownload all the free games I got in the past when I used to have it? I probably won't get it again if that's true.

Anyways I got Sleeping Dogs. I was almost gonna buy it when it was $25 last week but $15 is a no brainer for me. I already beat it at launch but I'm gonna play the DLC now.

Yes that's the case with the Instant Game Collection - you can only redownload your free games if your subscription has not lapsed since you originally downloaded them. As it was mentioned any game you actually spent money on is yours forever no matter if your subscripton lapses.

It is fitting to mention that Sleeping Dogs was free for PS+ users up until yesterday. So you do get value for your money with PS+ as long as you're good at not creating too big of a backlog of games you would lose if your subscription lapsed. Anyways I'm sure someone will say that this is a conversation best left to the PSN thread, I'm not a PS3 owner myself but I am fairly sure that what I'm saying is right.

AFAIK you'll regain access to all the free games you've previously downloaded when you start your PS+ sub back up.

Any free games you grabbed while a PS+ member will return to your download list once you resubscribe. The only things you miss are items that were added and taken down between those two dates. Skonson is way wrong on that point.

Ok, thanks. Was just asking since Sleeping Dogs for that price seems pretty tempting, though I've also been wanting to try Blood Dragon which costs the same.

I was going to pick up a couple things for Dance Central last week, but then got too busy and missed the sale. When I look now Dance Pack 12 seems to be missing from the site - any news on these packs? Do they sometimes get discontinued?

+1 not sure where Skonson got that info, but it's a far cry from how it actually works.

so no one knows about the Kinect Sesame Street TV sale?
I Bought Season 1 just yesterday and just went to see the price of season 2 via the Sesame Street app and saw that it's free eventhough I never bought it. Downloading it now just to see if all is well.

Also just got to say, growing up on Sesame Street and watching all the clips and such categorized by character is fucking awesome.

I stand corrected. Thanks for educating me.

Interesting. Shows free for me as well. Downloading it to make sure.

The cheapest sleeping dogs has been was $5 on the Hungarian marketplace. I know because it was too low for me to pass up. I then looked at DLC and couldn't pull myself to buy it as it would be more expensive than the game itself.

I guess Worms 1 & 2 are automatic buys due to my 200 MSP purchase rule. I've enjoyed plowing my way through the Worms Revolution achievements without REALLY playing the game. One achievement that eludes me however is the "social butterfly" one where I am supposed to play against 20 different people. Kinda hard when no one plays the game anymore. Hopefully the sale next week will change that.
You should be able to get it with so many people picking it up next week.

For anyone else interested in the Worms sale there is the Worms Collection disc. It includes Worms, Worms 2, and Worms Ultimate Mayhem + 6 DLC packs for $30. I'm not sure if the DLC will be on sale next week, but if you want that extra content it can get expensive. There are 4 different Worms 2 DLC packs at 320 MSP each plus a pack that's 400 MSP and another that's free. There are 3 different Worms UM packs at 400 MSP each. Some might want to wait for a price drop on the disc due to the DLC.

There's also supposed to be a Worms Revolution Collection for $30 that includes Worms 2 and Worms Revolution + their combined 8 paid DLC packs. Revolution's 3 DLC packs are normally 400 MSP each.

I'm so happy that Sleeping Dogs GonD is on sale. I've been waiting for the disc to drop to $20 or below so at $15 I picked it up along with the 2 DLC packs with achievements (Nightmare in North Point and Year of the Snake) and the Square Enix Character Pack at $1 because I like all those games.

As for the other DLC packs, I shall quote Jack Frost from X360A because they also had people asking:

Well, the Ghost Pig and Community Packs are free, so go for it.

The Top Dog Gold and Silver packs are cheap and will raise your Cop, Face and Triad experience. Gold more than Silver, obviously and they stack. I dunno about everyone else, but I found Triad XP really hard to come by...

The Police Protection pack adds an on-rails side mission where you get to shoot the tires of pursuing criminal vehicles. Was pretty ho-hum, in my opinion, got it for free with the pre-order tho'.

The Red Envelope Pack places $1,000,000 divided into 20 $50,000 envelopes hidden all over the city. Didn't really have trouble obtaining cash, so I didn't get this one.

The Street Racer pack adds a few more races (imagine that!) but I didn't care much for the racing, so I passed on this as well.

All the rest are just costume packs. Sure some of them add different boosts to stats and XP gains, but they are largely cosmetic. With the exception of the Drunken Fist Pack which adds the drunken fighting style while Wei is wearing it, but again, this is largely a cosmetic enhancement.

So you'll really have to peruse the costume ones yourself to make sure you really want them.

For everyone in the X360 Backlog Support Group, I can't access the page due to the update. Should we place the competition on hold since no one can access that? Maybe hold it until July? It sucks too because I hope there will be some surprise deals next week during E3. I'm not sure if it falls under the Sunny Day thing or not but still.

I'm pretty sure you get the first episode of season 2 free, but that's it.
thats how it used to be. you could get a trial of episode 1 of season 2 for free. I go to buy season 2 and it just downloads a file thats 800 something mbs. then when i go pack on season 2 it brings up an error. otherwise all i see you can do is buy the episodes individually for 400 pts. But the tile next to the SLeeping Dogs sale tile says 70% off season passes.

Didn't MS do an E3 sale last year? Wondering if the "Sunny Day" sale will be it.
until proven otherwise I think the Sunny Day sale is the Kinect Sesame Street season passes being on sale. I think that may be why there are problems downloading season 2 as it may not supposed to be on sale til next week. Can anyone see a price on season 1? If so is it less then 2400 pts?

Season 1 shows price of 700 and season 2 shows price of 2400 but was able to download season 2 for "free"

Is Tomb Raider a good purchase at $29.99? I've heard nothing but good things
The cheapass in me says wait for <$25, but the gamer side says it's one of the best games ever made imo. I absolutely loved - it had adventure, tight combat, and constantly changing gameplay. Great game overall.

have you tried playing season 2 yet? is it the full thing? unlocking achievements?

Can someone give me all the details about Tomb Raider for $30 so I can put in in the OP? XBLDB didn't pick it up, so I'm assuming it's only available on the console? Is that also true about these Sesame Street games you guys are talking about?

Also, looks like Karateka dropped to 400 MSP today as expected.

It's a great game and that's a good price. The main question is whether you will play a lot of multiplayer. I was able to beat the campaign really quickly so if that's all you're interested in then you might want to wait for it to be cheaper or rent it.

Tomb Raider hit $29.99 on GonD. I'm not sure if that's a special promo or permanent.

I now understand how to Multi-quote properly on the new site. :) Here's a user guide.

I'd recommend the Dragon Master Pack besides the story content packs for the people getting the Sleeping Dogs dlc. It is only 320 msp and comes with a bunch of extras and four missions. Just fyi, hadn't seen anyone mention it.

tomb raider is ok but it's not really something i'd pay $30 for. once you beat the game i doubt you'll play it again. honestly if you dont have a computer i'd just suggest that you rent it from redbox, you can beat it in a couple of days and you probably wouldnt want to play it longer than that. if you had it so it only costs $10 with discounted MSP that's a pretty fair price, but again, it's prob just gonna sit on your hd unused after you beat it once

Apparently a dark forum theme is inbound tomorrow night, which is great because this current color scheme is one of the worst I have ever laid eyes on. I guess it's about time I pick an avatar, since usernames don't catch the eyes quite like they used to, IMO.

I'm tickled that Sleeping Dogs DLC is on sale yet again :bouncy: I picked up the "big three" and will consider some of the lesser add-ons if/when my last two $15-for-5 MSP orders come through. Now if only someone would put the disc on sale for $10...

This is hilarious. I downloaded the "free" season 2 of Sesame street, but it didn't unlock any episodes. So I clicked on the locked first episode and it shows you can get the season pass for 0 MSPs. I clicked to download and it shows the price at -1 MSPs. When I clicked confirm, it now tells me I don't have enough MSPs because the required balance needs to be 4294967295 MSPs. Anyone want to spot me a few points? ;)

I don't think its so much that usernames are less noticeable as it is that not having an avatar is throw it in everyones face noticeable.

Makes everyone without one look like a faceless nobody now.

That's what it always does for items that you can't actually buy yet.

All numbered multi-artist packs are missing from the marketplace, since the sale ended. Also, Dance Packs 12 and 13 WERE NOT available for purchase on 6/3/2013, the last day of the sale. Links to them in the Xbox Live Marketplace were broken that day. Who knows why they were taken down early. I bitched at Xbox Live using their support chat to no avail.

He obviously can't buy it yet if that's the message he gets. I don't know why they took it down, but that's what they did.

Picked up Sleeping Dogs with some dlc with the Microsoft Store pints I got =D. Had sleeping dogs for ps3 when it came out, but did not fall in love with it.

My reaction to the new "brighter" CAG :)

tumblr_m8jxbvfag31rcrscgo1_500.gif
Yeah... pretty much. My understanding is that it will or should be drastically improved in the near future, but I would have much preferred that they fine-tuned it and then pushed it out rather than taking the approach they did. My eyes would have more fun being pulled out and thrown against the wall repeatedly.

Damn this new white background is horrendous but at least my phone is no longer sending me to cheap arse gamer.

Sweet got Sleeping Dogs last time it as on sale and now all the DLC is on sale. Two other packs to consider are the SWAT pack which adds 20 police missions and the Wheels of Fury, which adds 5 missions to create a super car with machine gun turrets.
