Someone goofed big, because any discounted games on the site always show the normal price with a strike-through next to the sale price. The RE bundle only says $51.79, with no indication of it being a discount.

"Yep, it's $51 at 60% off. Yep, all 6 games. Am I sure, Larry? Of course I'm sure."

 
It would be amazing if they sold an absurd amount during the glitched price and it suddenly opened console publishers eyes to how many copies they could sell if they cheaply bundled games like is done for PC by like seven different bundle sites
 
I've always been under the impression that publishers have contractual obligations via licensing for console platforms to not drop their prices more than a set amount based on MSRP / during retail life. That cuts into MS/Sony's profit percentage. Even with flash and fire sales for last gen, most of the sales on XBL stop at $5 while they go lower on PSN.

I know there are exceptions to this, but MS definitely keeps sale prices higher on their platform for longer. On the PC end, none of that platform licensing exists really, so it's a really different business model.

 
even price matching or competing with playstation's deals would be an improvement

as someone that has always had both, the digital deals on ps are better about 99% of the time, sometimes significantly

 
gotta give it to them. this BC program has been a major success. they keep pumping them out unlike the original Xbox BC on 360. There is still more to go. 

What would really make me go nuts is if they announce OG Xbox BC at E3 or something. Feels like a missed opportunity to make some old games available to us again but then again most of those 3rd parties are probably shut down.

OG Xbox used x86 too, it couldn't be that difficult to get it running given what they've accomplished with the 360. It's way more of a business issue than a technical issue.

It'll never happen but I'd love if MS put out an emulator like Dolphin and just kept updating it for better compatibility.

I think the way they could still accomplish this is by having those show up in the Game Pass thing. I'd drop money one month to re-play RaliSport Challenge, Panzer Dragoon Orta & Crimson Skies for sure. Relive my childhood with money, where do I sign up!? :baby:

I did that for Metro 2033...got it on OnLive (one of my worst decisions as a gamer, but I really didn't have much options at the time), then 360, and then Xbox One. Still have yet to really play it past the first hour or so.

Also I don't find Ivanka annoying...I find all the HRC supporters who constantly complain about her to be annoying though.

At the risk of entering thread-nuke territory, why do you assume that people who find Ivanka annoying are HRC supporters? This binary politics/home team stuff doesn't suit anyone except the powers that be. I don't particularly like HRC but I also wouldn't be too sad if the Trump family crash-landed in the Amazon and were eaten by cannibals.

(Yes, I watched Green Inferno recently. I give it a D+, some good scares and some decent social messages but Eli Roth can't resist shooting himself in the foot with awful decisions here and there.)

I think it's lack of demand just as much as lack of viable games. I don't think there are nearly as many people with many Xbox Prime games sitting around as 360, and you can still easily buy new 360 games at retail, online, and digitally. It seems like the limited number of Xbox games sold digitally on 360 might have been a sign that it didn't do well, but maybe they just didn't want to sell games with questionable emulation like Halo 2.

When you get down to it, they'd probably be aiming at the first party stuff that is mostly dead and forgotten franchises Blinx and Brute Force, and maybe a few standout console exclusives, with only the KotOR's and Jade Empire coming to mind. Some of the most popular stuff already has some kind of HD alternative like Halo, Fable, GTA San Andreas, and Doom 3.

I think we're more likely to see more of these (hopefully) $20-30 HD remasters like Voodoo Vince and Phantom Dust. I'd love to be wrong though, I've got a few Xbox games sitting around still that I can't play unless I replace my long dead original console, and it would be great from a preservationist standpoint.

Good points. BC is successful in part because it creates new markets for old games which are still available that X1 owners otherwise never would consider - it's good business. And yes, a lot of the most beloved games from the OG platform have found new life in remasters or ports. I'd personally rather have updated versions of games from that era vs 360 games since the 360 still looks pretty good and has all the bells and whistles working (MP, achievements, online distro, etc). You're probably right, the demand is probably pretty low in the absence of similar infrastructure.

Honestly if Xbox did what Sony is doing for PS2 games (updated visuals/performance and achievement/trophy support) I'd be okay with that. Sony just messed it all up by selling a lot of PS2 games on the PS3 and not letting those purchases carry forward in any way to PS4.

Yeah, you see that comment occasionally. I have a lot of anime friends so I've been around cosplay stuff for 10 years or so. These "themed" cosplays like bikini-version or ninja-version or zombie-verion or whatever are nothing new, but now some of these cosplayers do these boudoir sets based on Patreon "funding" and generally pull in a LOT of money for basically making nude or nearly nude photosets. I was going to post an amount here but apparently you can make your funding level private. This was one woman that was semi-popular on /v/ and Reddit that ended up setting one of these up, and while you can't see the amount, she has over 700 backers, with a $5 minimum to actually get the pictures.

Anyways, usually when you see comments about boudoir sets it's people now losing their minds that someone is making thousands of dollars a month for being pretty. As for that D.Va earlier, the character has become pretty popular with this boudoir crowd because she's a headpiece, brown hair and painted triangles on the face, with her suit being easily bought for $50 online if they go that route. Personally I think most of these are low effort but whatever, it isn't hurting anyone. The people that really care about cosplay are wearing costumes at conventions and stuff, and often have made their own costumes that are much more elaborate than any of the lingerie nonsense. Another Overwatch cosplay for example, also a dude for fair comparisons sake:

It seems like that's more or less what we're getting with Voodoo Vince and Phantom Dust, but these remasters are higher effort than the PS4 one's so I don't know if they'll consider the method viable to do another 10 or 20 greatest hits or whatever. The Xbox games are full blown remakes with new textures and the like, the PS2 stuff is exactly the same but rendering the 3D stuff at much higher resolutions that before, meaning 2D elements like HUDs or UI look like bad, and not improving textures is probably the biggest issue.

Hopefully our remasters sell well and we get more. Seems like an easy solution to mitigate the game drought we're currently in at least a little bit.

 
I'm happy to report that the new update for Overwatch finally fixed my achievement for being level 50. So now at the level of 220~ I get the achievement for being over 50. Also Orisa is a fun character.

 
I'll probably get beaten down for this, but I think RE4 is overrated, or at least colored by nostalgia.  I played it for the first time a few years ago on the 360, and was unimpressed.  It has horrible tank controls, annoying quicktime events, and a mediocre plot.  I finished it, but if I knew then what I know know, I wouldn't have bothered with it.  I don't think the game aged well at all.

That being said, I played through RE5 in co-op with a friend fairly recently and enjoyed it quite a bit.  It still has a few annoying quicktime events, but for me RE5 is a far better experience than RE4, especially if you play co-op.

Jade Empire was 2005, I believe GTA San Andreas was too. Lots of 3d games from 05 games will be fine, it's not like the 64 and PS1 where u can barely play some of those 3d games

Would much rather have a million ports and remasters of Jade Empire instead of RE4

There was a port of Jade Empire on mobile recently. Not sure how good the touch controls are but believe it also has controller support.

Has anyone had success with completing the ME:A tutorial challenge "Successfully extract from an APEX mission"?

(Spoilered for space reasons- no pun intended)

I went into the strike team menu, picked the bronze APEX mission, joined a team, did all the waves and successfully extracted and it's still showing as incomplete...it's my last tutorial challenge, too. Did a quick Google and one of the producers mentioned a problem keeping some challenges from being completed, but I thought I'd ask if any of you have gotten it to work.

I may actually end up playing some of the MP. Are all the missions just several waves that alternate between survival/tech/extraction, etc.? I was kinda disappointed that the APEX mission was the same format and wasn't really anything special, but it's kind of fun and it scratches my collection/leveling itch with the cards and XP, so I may play a little here and there when I don't have time to really dig into the SP.

Yeah, I follow a number of cosplayers on Instagram, which for some of them is basically just a place to shill their Patreon accounts. I get it and it's hard to knock their hustle, but I still feel a little sad for them, honestly. Then again, they're getting their $ and at least their doing it for themselves and not being exploited by someone.

I'm a typical guy who certainly enjoys cosplay for the "hey, there's a hot girl!" angle, but I also do have an appreciation for the ridiculous amount of time and skill involved in the costumes they create. I guess if a little Patreon soft porn helps cosplayers fund the part of the hobby they're actually passionate about and it's not hurting anyone, it's hard to argue with.

The combat in Jade Empire was just ass. I only powered through it because a game with a Chinese setting was relatively novel at the time. There was a longform Game Informer article recently on the history of Bioware, and the developers talked about the game, saying they tried to make combat something you would expect from a kung fu movie, but the result was much shoddier than they intended. I would still like a sequel myself, though.

I'll take your word on San Andreas since I've never been a big GTA fan myself.

I really really love the new album. There's not a bad song on it, although some are definitely better than others. I'd say it's in my top 10 albums in the last 10 years. Panther Like a Panther bangs so fucking hard when the beat drops it's unreal. I don't think KM or El P have ever been better than they are on RTJ 3

I got both of those upon completing the multiplayer tutorial. The description for the challenge/early access achievement specifies a date range. You had to play the multiplayer tutorial *before* the game officially released on 3/21.

Just block/unfriend whatever the people who fill up your feeds with crap you don't care about. I don't bother with Facebook but if I did I wouldn't let it be cluttered up stuff I deem drivel.

Because they never cared about what was happening with the government before they lost and now all the same BS that happened the last twenty years is continued and they suddenly care. They really don't care about anything but winning.

I only recently started using it (never used anything to be personal on the internet before that)

but I have a little wildlife rescue operation in the woods going on and some of the stuff is super cool (imo)

it's all pics of nature and animals I've never made a non animal pic post lol

I think I picked the right time to start sharing because people seem to enjoy the positivity of my day to day animal interactions (I pretty much started when all the negative political took off the past year)

People are starting to appreciate the simpler things in life again while trying to escape the negative world

 
That hide from feed is the best tool Facebook has implemented. I love how Trump is facism and the new Nazi party and Bernie Sanders was a democratic socialist and the new Nazi party. No matter what we do the media tells us we are the new Nazi party for not backing their candidate and the left and right take turns regurgitating it depending.

Anyone that considers the current situation facism is as dumb as the people that considered the last situation a Muslim terrorist lol
