fuck. I think I got Shadowrun mixed up with another game. Did not realize it was a multiplayer only game (aside from bots). Oh well, a $3.74 donation to Microsoft for a game I'll never play.

Little known fact: All proceeds from the title went to the Japanese earthquake relief fund when it launched for the first two months of It's sales. It launched at $5 and I bought it the day it came out for that reason. It's a pretty decent game. Easily worth the $1.24.

Injustice 2 reviews are boomin' currently at a 88 metacritic to start. Me and my friend held off since Mortal Kombat XL was a thing.

Confused about the $11.99 Destiny Taken King sale...it says it requires Destiny to pkay it, but you can't buy the Destiny base game off the store? How are you supposed to buy the base game to use the $11.99 thing? The base game shows me no buying option, just a box that says Free Trial...

Like Dead Rising 3 and Ryse: Son of Rome, you used to be able to buy the base game, but not any longer. The Taken King now is just for people that bought the game back then, or have a physical disc without the DLC.

 
I'm assuming there's no overwhelming general consensus on Geo Wars 1 vs 2 (and it's not like buying both will break the bank), but...I'll ask which one is better anyway.

Most stuff I've seen says 2 looks better and has more modes and a few enhancements like bigger play area, but 1 still "feels" better and is half the price (or less than half with this sale).

Ah that's really lame, ms should put some kind of warning on that then, like requires the disc version to play since we decided to not sell the base digital version any longer.

Even buying it used is difficult. At GS they had a Taken King complete version cheap, but the guys there were like you don't want this, the dlc is code based so even though the box says everything is included you just get the base game without anything.
 
Destiny without all DLCs is not really worth it IMHO, if you're looking for the X1 version, because you'd miss out on the updated 390 raids, the big events like Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris and all the weekly stuff (Nightfall, story playlist, strike playlist).

If it's the 360 version then that's fine but if you own an X1 you should play that version. Too bad I missed out on the ability to cross-save between them, I guess I wouldn't get my maxed out character if I were to buy the 360 version now, right?

 
You guys know how long this sale will last and which games are xbox exclusives? I have shifted primarily to PC gaming, but would still be interested in titles that are not available on PC that i can play on my Xbox.

 
Sorry if it's already been asked, but do you need to be a Gold member for the sale prices to appear? My Gold just ran up about a month ago and currently waiting for a deal on a 12 month card before I resub.

It works for some games even though I gave up my gold membership after shifting primarily to PC gaming. I have picked up a few games already on sale. For others you need gold .

Garou: Mark of the Wolves is on every greatest of all time fighting game list, even though it's not really considered a KOF game. And Neo Geo Coliseum is fun, kind of like a Marvel vs. Capcom style SNK game with characters from different SNK games. One of the Metal Slug characters is even featured as a playable character!

And after adding $45 in Live currency to my account with codes that I bought from Amazon, I just got a message that said "Your Live account is locked from making purchases." WTF? Oh well. I have to go to work in a few minutes.

Does anyone know if there are any improvements (ie. Graphics) or advantage in waiting for the release of South Park The Stick of Truth for the Xbox One or is it the exact same game that is currently on sale right now?

The Destiny sale for X1 is the complete edition, which isn't a bad deal if you don't have anything. For the 360 sales, you'd need the $20 Taken King Legendary bundle if you don't have anything, which is kinda worth it but at this point you are missing out on a lot and I'm sure there aren't too many people playing. Also, as you mentioned, you wouldn't keep your character. For a while you were able to sync your profile back and forth, but they stopped that last summer before Rise of Iron came out, so if you've never played on 360 you'd be starting from scratch just to get some repeat achievements at this point, and anything you do on there will no longer transfer to your X1 account.

On another note, any feedback on R-Type Dimensions? I loved the original on my Sega Master System and TG-16, so I'm interested, but not sure if this is a remake or new-ish title or what.

I would've bought an used vanilla 360 copy just to get my X1 characters on there, but I didn't have a 360 at the time. It would be fun to see how the game pre-RoI was, I think they improved a lot at the time, but no way I go through that boring story grind again. I actually never completed it for anything but my Titan, I just leveled my Hunter and Warlock through PVP and PVE and infused.

 
Alright, are you not able to use your Microsoft account to purchase 360 games anymore? Only given the options for CC when trying to purchase Left 4 Dead 2.

Fart squadron 4 also had some of the best Kinect microphone use, but man did I have to eat a lot of chili to get those achievements!

To people wondering about Shadows of the Damned, it's like Evil Dead as an anime and extra crass. Not much to do once it's finished, but it's definitely worth $5.

Already have most of the other games including Far Cry 3 and Oblivion GOTY editon  on my PC. Still considering non PC titles like Lost Odyssey though.

Was thinking about getting the Bioshock Infinite Season Pass, but the Bioshock Collection is a better deal when on sale  on PC.

Was hoping some of the Halo titles would go on sale since they are Xbox exclusives.

Yeah can't blame you there. The story grind was fun for what it was back in year one, but it started getting more dull over time. I haven't played regularly in months and when I go on now it's mostly for raids and the occasional Nightfall.

I have to mention this game occasionally crashes on xbox one and i've run into audio glitches several times. these are documented as known issues in the BC thread. however, it's not enough to stop me from from buying a digital copy :D

Question.... I'm seeing that Destiny the taken king is for $11.99. Does that include the Game also? I used to have the game on disc but sold it but I used the code that included the taken king dlc. The bundle says destiny sold separately but there's no option to buy the game by itself. Anyone who can help me out?

Apparently I'm locked out of my account for making too many purchases in a short period of time. Microsoft puts hundreds of games on sale for $5 or less and then penalizes me for buying too many of them. Utter bullshit.

They removed it from both 360 and X1 Stores, you have to find a cheap used disc. It's like 5€ here at Gamestops so you better get one of them, or get the whole bundle (Destiny + TTK for like 15? I think) if you want to go full digital.

I had this happen when I first got my Xbox one and bought games quickly. Now I have learned to buy a few and wait. I don't want to risk tripping a fraud alart and getting blocked. When it happened to me it took almost a week to fix and a bunch of calls. If you keep trying to buy games and get rejected to many times it locks all forms of payment on your account. A total pain to deal with. I was lucky to have it fixed a few hours before the sale at the time ended.

I wonder if the account only becomes locked via credit card purchases. Because I just bought almost $100 worth of backwards compatible games with Microsoft funny money and had no issue. I've done this before using account credit and no issue then either...
